This is not the same as other HiSense Smart TVs. There is no owners manual, only a Fire TV operating guide. It has none of the menus or features of the other HiSense I owned. When you try to register or call for help, this model does not even exist on the HiSense support page.

This is my third Hisense TV but the first time ever owning a Fire TV. Overall, I have been happy with the brand. One of them was the same size and price range and it had just failed, lasting under 5 years, to the point it wasn’t worth the repair. The OS was a competitor to Fire and although we are big fans of it, I was happy to try a Fire TV and utilize the capabilities it offers. Usually TVs in this price range don’t tend to last, however, this TV has 3 times the features of the one that died so if we get 5 years out of this, I can already say it will be worth it. The Fire TV UI was an adjustment for me. It’s a lot busier than what I am used to. But it didn’t take long to get used to it either. You link the TV to your Amazon account and profile, although how helpful that is depends on your needs and wants but you can customize how much your use links with your shopping/prime account by turning things on/off. I really like how you could have multiple profiles although I wish the customization would include TV settings like picture and sound, too. That way each person could further customize their viewing. I was able to use the same photo album on my account that I use for my Echo Show as my screensaver which is a fun feature. Of course you can pick anything you want using Amazon Photos. I like to calibrate my TVs but the base TV quality looks and sounds really good. There are so many options to help enhance or tweak to your preference which I really appreciate. Some TVs at this price range have super limited options. The QD6 has nice contrast, color and handles blacks/whites well. There are several options to automatically enhance these things, as well. Normally, features like these tend to get in the way of getting the best picture so they are better off. But I found turning on things like the “Dark Detail Mode” and “Dynamic Color Boost” to be quite pleasing. Native 4K content looks great. I watched an episode of the nature documentary The Americas and it looks as good as anywhere else. Dialogue for anything I watch is clear and the rest of the sound feels balanced. I didn’t see an equalizer but bass and treble can be customized. Any time I don’t have to constantly fuss with volume while watching is a win. Additional features include a generous 3 HDMI inputs with an eARC, a game mode setting and voice capabilities. There is also a feature to allow the TV to control another device like a soundbar with voice. Although it’s probably standard, it appears you can link the TV with other Alexa devices so you can use that to control the TV instead of having to press the voice button on the remote. We are considering getting an Amazon Dot or Pop just for this TV. I did experience some issues, though. The main UI can be a little slow at times. Sometimes there is lag/unresponsiveness when making selections with the remote and occasionally apps can take some time to load. There was an update that improved things a great deal compared to what it was when first opened so make sure to allow the device to do that. I haven’t noticed any issues inside of apps, so that’s good at least. Another thing I was having issues with is blurred motion in both faster moving scenes and for a second when the camera/frame first changes, like it was still loading the scene. I changed enough settings to make it less obvious and occur less often but I could not completely eliminate it. Considering this TV says it offers AI Smooth Motion, I was disappointed to deal with this. Turning off the motion setting all together looks jarring to me, so it’s not an improvement. Maybe I’m just so used to using it on TVs that I wasn’t used to having the feature off. The last thing is just senseless. For some reason, they programmed the TV to auto shut off after what appears to be 15 minutes and there is no way to turn it off or adjust it. This is regardless how soon you start your screensaver or if you are actively watching something in an app and had just paused it to go take care of something. Once this happens, of course you are kicked out of it all and have to re-enter the app to continue watching. I really hope this is something that can be fixed with an update. Beyond these things, I did have a problem with one of the apps but it could be a third party issue. Paramount+ would not let me view anything beyond 1080p. I get UHD/4K on any other TV in the house for this app so there seems to be a bug. Overall, despite these issues which some you may come to expect from a TV at this price range, this QD6 series TV sure offers a lot and does things well. Considering the audience for this range, many probably won’t even notice or care about these faults. Using a third party streaming device could very well fix a lot of these problems, too. With that all said, I’m more impressed with this TV than not.

Dead on Arrival With Smashed Screen

After unboxing and connecting into my home theater setup, turned it on and saw nothing but spiderweb cracks across the screen. Looked as if it had been sat on. Boxed it back up and took it to my local Best Buy and they took it with no questions asked. Weirdly, the box was undamaged, so I don’t know if it was damaged at the factory and was boxed up and sent out. I exchanged it for a slightly more expensive TCL and that one works great. Gotta say, though, that the TCL box seemed sturdier and the screen protection was heftier.

Vibrant QLED Value with Smart Fire TV Features

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Hisense 50" QD6 Series QLED Fire TV stands out as a solid value choice in the crowded 50-inch TV category. With QLED technology and a VA panel, it delivers impressive color accuracy, covering around 92% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and deep contrast ratios (~7,500:1), making it a great option for movie nights and vibrant streaming content. It supports a broad range of HDR formats including HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and even Dolby Atmos for richer sound. Though it maxes out at 60Hz with no VRR, it includes Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), offering smooth performance for casual gamers and sports viewers. While its brightness isn't class-leading (around 400 nits peak), it's more than adequate for most living rooms. I pulled all this from Hisense's website in the specifications section for this particular tv and made sure to highlight the commonly compared features. Compared to other Hisense models like the A6 Series, the QD6 steps up with better contrast and more vibrant picture quality thanks to its QLED panel. It even competes well with slightly higher-end models like the QD7N, trading off some brightness and HDMI 2.1 features in favor of stronger native contrast. Against brands like Vizio or TCL in this price range, the QD6 holds its own thanks to its rich feature set and superior smart platform experience via Fire TV. The Fire TV integration is seamless and snappy, offering voice control through Alexa, intuitive navigation, and access to all major streaming platforms. Reminder, you do need an Amazon account to benefit from the majority of this TV's smart features. In terms of design, the QD6 Series features a clean, modern look with slim bezels and a sturdy build. It includes three HDMI ports (one with eARC), Bluetooth 5.0, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi 5, giving it solid connectivity options for today’s devices. While it's not aiming to be a premium flagship TV, it doesn't cut corners where it matters for mainstream users. The inclusion of Dolby Vision and Atmos at this price point—often under $300—is impressive, especially for users upgrading from older 1080p sets or basic 4K panels. This TV is best suited for families, budget-conscious streamers, or anyone who wants vibrant picture quality without diving into higher-end pricing. If you're not a hardcore gamer or demanding cinephile but still want premium picture formats, voice integration, and a trusted smart platform, the Hisense QD6 is an easy recommendation. It's a strong mid-tier performer that punches above its weight in features and value. Bonus use could be an additional oversized external computer monitor for those looking for a large, high resolution display.

After doing some research on this product before and after getting it I have come to this conclusion It's an absolutely great TV the picture is clear as can be. Sounds great and clear to me even being deaf in one ear. there are a few thing that anyone from first time buyer needs to know which I actually am before you even turn the TV on hook up an either net cord from your router if you have one or to your modem so it is connected to the internet as the WiFi will not connect even with your password. It took me ten mins to realize this because every TV that I have own has picked up my WiFi instantly you needs to do this so the Fire TV software downloads before anything. The setup was just as easy as any other smart TV the pros are easy setup once the software and firmware has been downloaded, lightweight that even I can pick it up at 66 years of age. the only con that I have for an issue is the fact of this once the software and firm ware have been downloaded and installed I tried to setup my sound bar system to it which works great and was easy to do but now when I ask Alexa to switch from the loading screen she tell me that she can't do that and to check the input on the TV after doing that (which it shows both in the setting of the fire TV side and the TV setting ) seams to point to either the firmware or the software for fire TV and that my friends is the only reason for my giving 4 stars and if it was for that it would be a 5
