It’s a great tv but the OS starts getting sluggish after a while and now every so often while it’s off it starts saying random thing from the integrated Google assistant but the quality of the tv image itself is great which is why it’s getting 4 stars

You can't beat the price for all the features it brings. I bought this one for my parents and couldn't be happier with the purchase. Image quality is awesome with very easy to navigate menus.

Easy to setup and so far, no complaints. Picture is good. I haven't used the "Smart TV" part yet as I have a Roku and still use it instead of the "Smart TV". I also use a sound bar so have not noticed any issues with the sound. Overall, good value for the price.

Good sound & picture quality. The remote is user friendly, although I don't have a use for the 'mainstream' online services / buttons. I was disappointed that it says "Android TV" but the apps you can install are not all the apps from the Play store.

I bought this primarily as a computer monitor, and for that it is great. Clean picture, great color, sharp images.
Where this fails is as a TV. The Android system used on it is not like on a phone. The implementation is awful. For example, the TV supports only Bluetooth headphones that DO NOT have a mic built-in. Good luck finding one at all.
We got so tired of this TV that we cut the cable and just use it as a computer monitor. It wasn't worth paying for cable if we had to wade through this TV's operating system to watch it.

We needed a TV a certain width to fit our space. We compared this & one made by rhymes with “cam run”. They were exactly the same size, even the remotes looked the same, & this TV has a few more features.
We bought the TV online and used curbside pickup which could not have been easier. When we got it home it was very nicely packed in the box. Happy that the TV remote works Fire TV Cube with no problem. Sound is good, picture looks great. Did need to look up on YouTube a how to to get the OTA channels working. If you need a 55” TV for less than $300, you will not be disappointed, especially if you catch this one on sale.

So far so good. Excellent picture(using a Roku to watch SlingTv and Hulu). My Roku remote turns the TV on when I press the home button and controls the TV volume with the side volume buttons on the Roku remote. I turn the TV off with my voice using Google home.
This Hisense TV replaced my Insignia TV. When I was taking apart my Insignia TV, most of the parts inside where labeled Hisense. Hisense TV = Insignia TV.

I bought this and a Vizio 50" from a wharehouse. The picture may have been slightly better on the Vizio, but the sound on the Hisense was far better. My wife and daughter both thought the Hisense was far better in every way than the Vizio. I got this under $300 and there is no way to find a TV of this size and quality at that price. With the 5 year warranty, I have complete peace of mind this TV is an exceptional purchase. I LOVE it!
The remote is big and clunky, but I use my Amazon Fire remote in its place. It's not as easy to mirror a phone or other device, but I'm mainly using this for TV anyway.

Software issues

The image quality is great on the tv, the main problem I have with it is the software. If you start the tv with an external hard drive plugged in, a message will pop up asking if you want to view the contents of the hard drive. Usually it takes maybe 10-15 second for this message to pop up, but in that time frame, I've already started a YouTube video and it's annoying to have to click out of the pop up. The volume will also get reduced automatically to 10 if you have it up too high for a long period of time. There is no option to disable this.

Let me start by stating that the television has excellent picture quality in my opinion. With that said the Android TV function is quite slow to respond. I solved that issue by connecting a Fire Tv stick (kind of defeats the purpose of buying an android television smh). The biggest issues I have with the television is the sound. Sound quality is not great. While playing my PS4 one day the sound would shut off for no reason. Happened a couple time while watching ota channels as well. This issue happened no less than 15 times over the course of a COUPLE HOURS. Sound works fine thru an external speaker, but I shouldn’t have to use that for everything thing I watch and play.

4K Android, you get what you pay for

I had a Sony HD tv that quit working and I wanted to replace it with a new tv that was 4K. My partner wanted an Android tv so that he could cast videos and music to the tv from his android phone. I didn’t want to spend very much money at all. Best Buy had this HiSense 4K Android tv on sale for $300, which was the best price with all the features we wanted. I’m not going to say it has the best picture or screen, because it doesn’t. You get what you pay for. You’re not going to get the prettiest picture for the cheapest price. The sound isn’t very good either. It has wee little speakers that has little sounding sound. But since the tv is connected to a home theater amp, that point is mute. LoL! Overall and in the end, it’s just a monitor. Even the Android tv wasn’t necessary since the AppleTV works so much better and looks much nicer. He is an Android user, while I’m an Apple guy, he found it more and more unnecessary to cast from his phone to the tv and now doesn’t at all. He was mostly wanting to be able to cast his music but since we have the same music tastes and I have a nice music library in Apple, the whole need for Android was not necessary. It was also difficult for his Samsung phone to connect to it as well. Now… the only time he’ll cast from his phone is to watch an occasional YouTube video he wants to share.
This HiSense tv advertises its Alexa compatible (as well as Google Assistant) but I have yet to be able to get Alexa to connect to it. The instructions say to turn it on, which I did l, but the skill sends you off to a different company that HiSense apparently works with. The only problem, the manual that came with the TVs doesn’t seem to match the built in system software. It keeps referencing system menus that aren’t there. Even system versions that this tv seems to not have. Once again… you get what you pay for.
Would I buy HiSense again? Maybe. But probably not. This ultra generic brand is just that… ultra generic. Manuals don’t match up. Model number match, but the menus don’t. Features don’t. Functionality the manual claims the tv has don’t. The HiSense website lacks information too. It’s just a horrible company that doesn’t stand behind their products or care what their customers think or say.
