    Clear Crisp Picture

The Hisense Roku 4K ULED HDR Smart TV delivers a sharp and clear picture. Set up was beyond easy. The online setup walked you step by step through the entire process. The television is WIFI enabled so you are able to watch all of the normal streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc. The home screen gives you a wide array of streaming services to chose from and download. It offers free shows via ROKU. ROKU offers an app to use on your phone to help control the TV as well which is a great option. The sound is Dolby Atmos and makes it seem as if you are in the middle of the movie, sporting event, or concert. I have a gaming system, cable, and a number of streaming services and all work well with the Hisense TV. I am able to easily navigate through the menu to get to exactly what I want quickly. The remote is also voice enabled to make it even easier to get to what you want quickly. It has 4 HDMI ports which is useful when you have multiple devices you want to use. Another wonderful feature is being able to project from your phone or tablet to the tv using the application that you download on your phone. The 4K ULED takes your TV experience from the doldrum to transformational. 55 inches is exactly the perfect size for a living area or even the bedroom. I like how clear the picture is and that the color is stupendous. There is no pixilation at all and the wide color Gamut makes the picture more lifelike.I find myself wanting to get another one for another room. This is an excellent value for this price point. I would recommend purchasing this Hisense Roku television.

This tv is so advanced it is amazing you can get a tv with this good of picture quality number of inputs built in Roku for this price yes you can get a a 55 in ch cheaper however unless you spend more you probably won't match this tv it has robust local dimming excellent black levels HDR dolby vision on board it has a very nice user interface thin bezel. The only slight drawback is it has so many settings it can get confusing and some of the onboard sound processing is not the best however using the tamer non surround settings will give an even clear presentation with some atmosphere as tv's get thinner speakers get compromised. Unbelievable value I would easily buy this again and would buy it in alarger size for room that I would use with a home theater set up were im not relying on the audio from tv. Can you get a better tv yes do you need a better picture prob not.

    Amazing TV For Great Price

I originally purchased the TCL 6 Series after reading amazing reviews on it. I was VERY disappointed in that TV. Plus the one that I bought was a lemon. It kept shutting off by itself! So I returned the TCL and did a bit more research on best budget TV's. After scouring many tech sites, I decided to give this Hisense H8F a shot. I have zero regrets about buying this TV! The frame is super thin, giving the TV a sort of elegant look. Picture quality is nothing short of great. This TV required very little calibration right of the box, which was surprising. Black levels are deep. Whites are bright. Colors are vibrant. HDR and Dolby Vision content can look quite amazing as well, but that depends on the source on which you're viewing. I personally am using an Xbox ONE X. If you want great picture quality, but don't want to pay OLED or QLED money, you really can't go wrong with the Hisense H8F.

I bought the 55 inch. Comparing this to my primary tv, an LG OLED B7, I have to say this tv produces rich vibrant colors that are on par with my OLED. What I mean by vibrant colors is that you can crank up the color really high and the tv will get you that saturated color that really pops. For example the color red will look firetruck red instead of plain red. On some budget tv’s you wont get vibrant colors even if you crank up the color. I cannot remember my four year old samsung which was $750 at the time much less my premium 10 year old $2300 samsung having colors pop like what this tv produces. And this tv is $500 mind you! The build quality is superb for a budget tv. I was surprised when I took out the tv from the box and felt the back of the tv. The tv gave the familiar cold feeling on my hand meaning the tv is made of metal! I’m amazed by that because I was expecting it to be made of plastic because the price was cheap. And the looks of the tv when i looked at it closely? The tv has an OLED look to it. Seems Hisense made an effort to make this tv stand out by having a slimed down attractive frame. The glass goes all the way to the edges which in my opinion for such low price they didn’t need to do but they did and that is awesome in my opinion. My last budget Samsung tv was more expensive than this and was all plastic. The front glass is glossier than Ive seen on budgets tv’s and the surface doesn’t show any warps. The glass warp that I see under store lights on those budget tv’s and on some premium tv’s too. They just look look cheap to me. If the glass it’s glossier that means that light from the LCD panel passes much more cleanly. The glossiness is not like an OLED but the glossiness is close. Picture quality I mentioned this tv produces rich vibrant colors on par with my OLED in my opinion. The OLED is a different beast because each pixel lights up independently so images wont look the same but the overall look of the way the color is produced on the Hisense is similar in my opinion. Dark corners. The only thing that totally kills it with this tv is the dark corners. Yes, this tv has dark corners. I read reviews about this but didnt think it was severe. I was thinking it was going to be like what’s commonly found on most budget tv’s. Maybe a little dark but not so much that it’s distracting. And this tv has very dark corners making it distracting to me. If you are watching a scene where its a solid color like white, blue, lite gray etc you will see the flaw with this tv. I have read its not easy to get corners to look even when designing tv’s. The light has to go to the corners and when it doesn’t and it’s noticeable you messed up. I am willing to bet some people will return this tv just do to the dark corners. Yes even if its a budget tv. But hey if you know nothing about tv’s or don’t know whats good, you might not notice it. But they pretty much got everything right with the tv but the dark corners seriously? If you are going to be using this as dome kind of computer monitor you probably will care. Sound is ok. Don’t expect a tv to give you what an appropriate sound system will give you. It sounds and that’s all that matters. The tv gets loud which is good and there is a fair amount of bass. The sharpening setting is really bad. Right out of the box by default the setting for sharpness is at 10. Hisense really has their sharpness algorithm all messed up because a setting of 4 or 5 gives you a ridiculous ugly texture that rather than enhance edges enhances everything at once a freckle will look like sand paper. Grass will look like sand paper. Background bokeh will look like sand paper. Sand paper like the thickest sand paper you can get with rocks at the hardware store. My suggestion is to set it to 0 zero. Or if you want maybe 1 or 2. But it literally doesn’t sharpen the image like you think. Not like other tv’s I’ve seen do it. Sand paper like rocks remember that. It will ruin the picture. Maybe a firmware update might fix it because the tv really does need one. Doubt they will provide firmware with a better sharpening setting though. When I first turned on the tv I thought the motion of the tv was kinda weird looking. This is while motion enhancement was turned off. There was a kind of ghosting of the images or some kind of lag/stutter when panning in movies for example. I don’t know how to explain it. I don’t know if I got used to it or maybe it’s something to do with the processor when I was fooling around with the setting in the menu. Like when you open the menu and play with the motion settings the processor will produce a lag of some kind as it processes your request. Now that I am seeing it I do not see anything wrong. Maybe I think it was the ridiculous sharpening in combination with the soap opera effect tv manufactures like to leave their default settings from the factory all the time. Brightness. One of the reasons I decided to but this particular model was do to the advertised 700 nits which some reviewers have measured it in actuality at 600 nits or so. Most budget tv’s will barely reach 300 nits of brightness. Seems as bright as my OLED minus the auto brightness limiter that my OLED has which is horrible. I like big fat white screens and this Hisense me produces a satisfying full white screen. Remote build quality is good. The clicks on the buttons are ok with me and it doesn’t seem cheap to me at all. I think this tv is an excellent choice when it comes a budget secondary tv. The style of the tv in combination with the rich vibrant colors and the over all build quality of the tv makes it a good choice. Longevity is to be seen. Remember tv’s come with 1 year warranty. For this tv since it is not a well known brand I would recommend paying for some kind of extended warranty. If this were a Samsung or LG etc no problem no extended warranty needed. But I have read not so good things about this brand. Now with these new tv’s I don’t know maybe the manufacture upped their quality control I don’t know time will tell. I have read they have gotten their act together now because they are trying to get into the USA market.

This TV brings really good value for what you pay for. A very excellent choice for a mid-tier tv and would of never expect it from Hisense. Now there are some features that are still lacking but overall the pros outweigh the cons. Pros: -Amazing Picture for a Mid-Tier/Low Budget TV. -Amazing Colors. -Really nice and elegant design. Slim bezels. Lightweight. -Android TV works well, plus easy to navigate. -Motion Rate feature is nice for smooth playback. -Google Assitant works extremely well. -Good Sound. -Good amount of Inputs than other budget TVs. -Good Remote Cons: -Bad HDR Gaming: The TV seems to dim and light up randomly while playing on my PS4 in HDR. Got annoying so I had to turn off HDR on my PS4. Any suggestion would be welcomed. -Alexa integration sucks, most of the time it doesn't work. Wished it worked well because I use Alexa a lot. -Occasional lag while on the Android Home Screen could use an update maybe to make it more efficient for the processor to run Android Oreo smoother. -At first, menus are complicated but you will get used to. -Had WiFi problems at first but I reset the TV and no issues at all so far. Overall, this TV packs a punch for what is worth, solid choice to go for and will fit nicely in your rooms. Would recommend for TV watchers, Movie enthusiasts, and Sport lovers. Gamers who want 4k HDR should stay away and go for something more in the Higher tiers. Other than that 4k Gaming is really nice considering there's a Game Setting, but forget about HDR.

The TV was a good value. My main critical point is the Android TV interface and the speed of the internal processors. Startup is very slow and the android interface lacks the ease of use of Roku (which I have on my other tv. I ended buying a Roku stick as AppleTV+ isn't available on the android app store. Picture quality is very good and black levels are excellent.

This TV is great for the price. The black levels are deep (off angle is very much lacking so don't buy if you use in a big room viewing from the side go to LG for that) and the colors and birghtness are awesome. Use as a side gaming tv and no complaints, this is a good option of a low price main tv given its performance. Had an H9F and bought this because it will ony ever be a side tv for occassional gaming (for under $400.) I have to point out my disappointment from my Hisense H9F. It had very bad ARC performance and bugs including sound cutout and slowdown after their updates. It needed to be reset a lot by being unplugged. I gave them a good review but voiced concerns. They responded to my review, Hisense asked me to reach out on facebook to help me. I did and then nada, they ignored me completely. Don't expect to get any help from them. Returned their "high end" TV and bought a discounted LG B9 for my main TV and have not looked back. LG is a great brand with great support and they last (OLED though has the best picture). HISENSE has lost me as a future customer for aain TV and I will never respect or trust them to hold up to a brand promise to help those with a problem.

I got this TV on sale for $399 on sale. It’s a lot of TV for the price. It has Full array backlighting with local dimming. Supports HDR10 and Dolby vision. It also runs on the android tv platform which allows you to run just about any android app including games. The tv does have issues running android. Android is resource intensive and needs a faster processor with more memory. Also the local dimming is slow and you can see a halo type of effect on really dark scenes when there’s a sudden light or for example tv logos. The tv has great color and is very bright which is needed if you are going to view HDR and Dolby vision content. At $399 it was a great deal. The closest competitor is the TCL 6 series at $499. Samsung, lg and Sony don’t have anything to compete with this at this price range. If you can get it for $399 definitely buy it. At $499 I would purchase the TCL 6 series. It is a superior TV.

This TV's performance for the dollar is nearly unbeatable. It has a full-array local dimming panel peaking around 700 nits, 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision support. You will struggle to find a TV with this kind of performance for the price. That being said, I use my own external streaming device (Xbox One S) instead of the internal streaming software because it gives me constant issues with lag and freezing. This Hisense uses Android TV, which is a great smart software, so I think the problem lies in the underpowered processor built into the TV. However, the TV is still such a ridiculous value that I don't mind using my own streaming device.

Although this is the 55H8F(2019 model), it is still one of the best TV out there for picture quality, contrast, and overall value. I played with the settings a bit to suit my viewing preference, and settled on theater night mode with some manual setting changes to adjust to the lighting of my living room. Its my first 4K set, so the picture really popped, and movies were almost as good as my Panasonic plasma from 8 years ago. The 4K HD videos had saturated color with natural skin tones, and the landscapes and nature scenes were just incredible! This was an open box deal, so it was the display model with a lot of use. I got the 5 yrs extended warranty just in case, but the total cost was almost 1/2 off from the current H8G model, so it will serve me well for the next few years.

I was replacing an old 1080p TV in my den when I started looking for the best TV for under $500 in the 55" class. I kept coming across the Hisense H8F (this model), the M-series Vizio and the TCL 6-series. As this was $100 less I decided to get this one, as I think it's the best picture you can get for $400. It has Dolby vision, local dimming, and a great color scale. Check out rtings.com for their detailed review. Pros: great price, thin screen with thin bezel, incredible picture Cons (and how I fixed them to get the best viewing experience possible on a budget) 1. Speakers- most TV's these days have pretty crappy speakers. These are better built ins then other TV's I've used, but as they get thinner and thinner there are less room for speakers. Get a soundbar for basically any flat screen you buy now. I tried using the digital optical cable to my sound bar but it can be finicky and I had to go into TV settings under sound and keep changing the output back to Dolby as it kept resetting. This was really annoying and I'm not sure why it does this, I think it could be fixed with a firmware update but as of September they haven't yet. I ended up hooking up my soundbar via HDMI Arc which works great and allows me to control the soundbar volume with the TV's remote. For an awesome budget soundbar, checkout the Yamaha Yas-207 (with included wireless subwoofer). This thing sounds almost as good as a 5.1 1000W pioneer surround sound I replaced it with. It uses DTS Virtual X which basically uses horizontal and vertical sound to "trick" your mind into thinking you are hearing sound from the ceiling and behind you. It can be had for $230 on Amazon. Also the Yamaha Yas-108 is the same sound but you can hook up your existing subwoofer. 2. Android TV: This interface is really buggy. Coming from Fire TV's, an Apple TV and Roku's for the last 5 years, it's unusable. The remote is super laggy, and when watching Netflix 4K with Dolby Vision it would crash every 30 minutes or so. Solution, buy an Apple TV, Roku stick, or the best bang for your buck is buy a $50 4K Fire Stick. The 4K fire stick remote can be programed to control the power on your TV, and the volume on your soundbar. Overall after making these adjustments I have an awesome setup with incredible sound and a wonderful picture. That's why I'm giving it a 4 star, because there are a few issues but if you're willing to buy a fire stick and a soundbar you can have a great movie watching setup for a great price.

Love this TV so much we bought a second for the bedroom! It has all the “future proof” features you need so that your purchase is not obsolete or incompatible with future 4K equipment. It incorporates many high end features at a low cost. It has Bluetooth, very important HCDP 2.2, a/c band WiFi local dimming, GORGEOUS PICTURE!! Go to hisense website and download the 55H8F data sheet & you will get much more info than most web sites or reviews show. A great buy with the geek squad warranty that includes in home service! Go see it or just buy it & you will see!

Would I recommend this to a friend? "Yes, but only IF...." It totally depends on how they would want to use it. The highs: • good picture, nice integration of smart apps • ad-free (hallelujah!) as far as I could tell • simple remote, works with IR or BT (point it anywhere!) • built-in apps give a ton of content, with room to grow The lows: • animated GIF action on Youtube is SUPER annoying • remote lacks the most basic TV features (aspect button, fave button) • OTA channel guide lacks program info • TV is profoundly laggy for over-the-air (OTA) broadcast watching I'm one of those weirdos who uses their TV for OTA content more than 50% of the time. The TV was super-slow to respond to commands in this mode, and I ruled out the included remote (tested both IR and BT) and remote app (home LAN). Press the button, no response, press again, no response, then the TV catches up and overshoots. Strangely — or perhaps tellingly — this problem doesn't afflict smart/app functionality. An OTA user can try to "learn" to allow for this, but in the end it was too dadgum infuriating to have to accommodate this flaw. I tried to like the H8F, but it failed me as a television.

I am extremely impressed with the picture quality of this TV. The image brightness and vividness is reminiscent of several much higher priced QLED TV's I own. The one complaint I have is as wonderful as the picture quality is, the processors behind the android app are equally as underwhelming. The input response time when trying to navigate the interface is unacceptably slow. If you couple this TV with a Chromecast or any other streaming device and use this TV as a display then I would easily give it 5 stars and say it is my favorite TV in this price range for its' picture.

TV has a good picture, but it's inconsistent. The processor or whatever is in there just isn't strong enough to power this TV. It's really slow and laggy. Android TV could be good, but again, there isn't enough power here. Also have issues with the remote. Sometimes the TV doesn't power on or takes several clicks to power on. I should've listened the sales person and not listened to the dozens of reviews that are out there that this TV is good. It's just not worth it.

Great TV for the price. I think this is the best bang for your buck as far as budget friendly TV. Get alot for your money. Picked this up on their Black Friday sale in July for $400. Ive had AndroidTV OS on my Nvidia Shield and love it. And now it comes with the tv.No brainer! If you're looking for the most cutting edge display this isn't it, has great picture but nothing to compare to the NanoCell, Q display, or OLED. But it gets the job done. For a great price.

When I bought this TV the initial reviews were really good. The biggest issue I saw was with people reporting broken TVs in a brand new condition box. I needed an inexpensive replacement TV at a good price, though, and this one seemed the best reviewed, so I took a gamble. Unfortunately, I became one of those statistics with a broken TV but new condition box, and I had to swap it out, creating some frustration. With the replacement together and setup, the initial experience was solid. Picture out of the box was very bright, and some of the settings ("features") needing disabling or reducing to dial the color in better, but once done the TV looked good. For the cost, the picture quality is as good as the big reviews say it is. The display is crisp and clear, and makes for a better than average viewing experience at this pricepoint. From a design perspective, it's minimalist, with a thin bezel, thin back, and clean look when setup. On the wall the frame almost disappears completely, and the bottom bar is barely noticeable. The speakers sit in the bottom which accounts for some of the thickness at the bottom and on the back. And the speakers... well, they are cheap and sound like it. A cheap soundbar probably sounds better, and a mid grade one like I have sounds WAY better. The legs can be installed at 2 positions, with the widest providing a bit more stability, but the narrowest allowing it to better fit smaller stands. The inputs provide more connectivity than most TVs in this price band, which is nice, but their placement on the far left can provide a bit headache if your devices sit on the other side of the TV. More centralized connections would have been nice. The remote is also surprisingly good feeling. It takes some getting used to because of the number of buttons and options on it, and I think the layou overall could be better, but it doesn't feel super cheap in the hand. All this is pretty much par for the course for any review you read about this TV. Hisense did a really good job designing a display that outputs a really nice picture, and made the display look more expensive than it is. When you first experience this TV you might ask, "How did they make this cost so much less than comparable sets?" Then, when you start using it it becomes more obvious. Volume changes are slow, navigation of the home screen starts snappy and quickly degrades, and then app usage becomes questionable. Sometimes an input from the remote makes a noise but nothing changes on screen. After a couple more button presses the TV catches up with what you want and a whole slurry of actions execute on top of each other making you think it's possessed. I have also had some extreme buffering or lag issues with the set while playing a video through Netflix, Hulu, Disney +, or some other service. The audio will still be going but the picture will stutter and then freeze and then resume after a couple seconds. To help with the slow performance I went into the Android TV settings and enabled developer settings. I then went into the developer settings and disabled animations and reduced background processes to 1. The disabling of animations just makes it feel snappier because the animations get sluggish. However, the animations make the experience feel higher end or more refined when they work quickly, so it's a negative trade-off. The background process reduction helps speed up the change between apps and reduces the frequency of the lag and freeze issues, but volume changes haven't been any snappier. What's worse is the background processes setting resets when the TV fully restarts and I have to go back in and change that again. The good news is I can tell every time it happens because the TV performs terribly until I do. This TV displays a really pretty picture and supports 4k nicely at a great pricepoint. It really had great promise from initial impressions and first use. I am also still putting up with it because it looks really good when it does work, and I have a bit of hope they will miraculously fix it through software before I get rid of it. Unfortunately, the reality is that probably won't happen and this will become one of those "what-if?" TVs that had so much potential, but was ultimately beat down by low-priced hardware. If Hisense had put a better processor or more memory in this thing, it might have been killer at this cost. But that "what-if?" just isn't a reality here.

After my almost 10 years old Samsung Plasma died, I went to the store to replace it with the only TV that compares and surpasses a plasma: LG OLED Tv. But at the store I remembered a YouTube video I saw about this Hisense Tv and decided to try it and believe me, this is an excellent alternatve to Oled. Obviously NOTHING looks better right now that LG Oled Tv's but this one is the best next thing for a quarter of the price. I was hesitant of LED because all of them have limited viewing angles and this one is not the exception. But the colors, picture quality, 4K resolution and VERY deep blacks sold me on keeping this set. For only $399 on sale this is a steal. Everything, TV, Shield TV android box, Xbox One looks astounding. There's a new model (H9) which has even better picture quality but again, for this price you won't find anything better. Someday Oled prices will lower but with what a 55" Oled cost, I could buy four of the Hisense. Don't get discouraged because of the brand, Chinese brands are making really nice sets with all the bells and whistles for an unbelievable price. Buy it with confidence

Picture quality is great. Sound quality is decent. Build quality is good, and overall it is a really nice looking tv. The problem with this tv is the software, I have had it over a year now, with probably around 4 or 5 firmware updates. The software had issues to begin with, but it is actually now worse than when I first had it. Unfortunately Hisense did not put a powerful enough processor in this tv to be able to handle Android TV. Picture settings do not stick, always reverts back to energy saving mode. Overall very laggy, and I end up having to reset it about every month. I want to like this tv a lot more as the picture quality is incredible for the price, but I cannot recommend as it becomes a very frustrating experience do to the laggy/buggy interface.

Great picture quality, overall. This TV is capable of super bright color, great clarity, and deep blacks. But does tend to turn nearly black scenes to fully black. I'm still trying to find the perfect picture settings to allow extremely dim scenes to show some detail while still allowing accurate color in bright scenes. It's a great bang for the buck with similar to QLED picture.
