Excellent picture quality and sound quality. This unit was recommended by two employees at the store. I was initially skeptical that the picture would be good but was blown away by it. You can see the actors skin pores that’s how good the picture quality is. Has good sound quality too. The only draw back is that since it’s an android based smart tv (and I’m an Apple user) I don’t necessarily like the app options. Wasn’t able to find Directtv now app so I had to install my appletv to get that service.

4k TV only 400 dollar, good deal! The Hisense H8F is a very good entry-level 4k TV with great picture quality, decent motion handling, and excellent low input lag. It looks great in a dark room, as it has an impressive contrast ratio, outstanding black uniformity, and a full array local dimming feature. It has great peak brightness with SDR content, and has great reflection handling.

I purchased this for 400 (think its 500 now, not sure). It's a great TV and well worth the price. The picture is excellent and beautiful. I don't watch it wishing it was brighter or more clear. The one downside is the smart TV aspect, the android OS I have is pretty slow and clunky. The sound when attached to the audio out port tends to drop off. This can be rectified by picking up a firestick or android box and using that instead.

Love the tv. Picture quality is great and Android tv isn’t to bad either. The only issue I’ve been having with it is the sound for external devices like my Nintendo switch. It plays background noise but the sound of characters aren’t there. Same issue with my soundbar. I have to plug it in through the headphone jack for it to play the audio. I’ve contacted hisense about this but no fix on there end.

The picture is good in comparison to more expensive brands and it works well with the HDMI linked home entertainment receiver, ROKU, and DVD player. The only downside is that this model does not have Bluetooth for a micro keyboard so you have to use the TV remote to do the up, down, left, and right arrows to enter text information.

Pros - Slim TV with very thin bezels. Excellent picture quality. 2 leg positions for smaller TV tables. Android has lots of apps and even lets you side those not in play store. Cons - motion handling could be better. Advanced motion enhancement settings cause brightness to drop drastically. Sound is so so, get a pre owned aoundbar. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase and it's excellent value for money.

    You have to be smarter...

Biggest problem I had was that you absolutely need to be smarter than the TV itself, to figure out what to do and how to program it correctly. I got it for gaming, mostly. When I started the game systems up, I had to program them for the TV as well. Which I came to find out a system I thought I bought wasn't, and was a lesser model (different store). Anyway.... I had a hell of a time trying to figure out why the brightness of the screen kept flickering back and forth, messing up my game. Then looked it up. Turns out you need to turn of auto contrast and auto picture format size. Otherwise, gaming sucks. BUT, once I got if figured out, the picture looked good. And from what I've seen, it's a LOT better than the Samsung that was the same price, for picture quality. Now, if they were to add an automatic depth driver, a 4k upscale driver, and a sound leveling option, this would be the best TV out there, for the money. Which is why this only gets 3 stars instead of 5.

I got this TV for $400. To me its a steal of a deal. The picture quality works well in my smaller living room. The only real complaint that I have about this TV is the poor viewing angles. My living room is small like I said before so I don't have large viewing angles while sitting on my couch but if I'm standing near the kitchen I def. see a deterioration of quality.

BUT, interface is laggy, use a Firestick 4k or modern gaming console to avoid the built in OS. BUY THE BEST BUY WARRANTY. My motherboard went out after eight months of owning, Hisense covered the repair via local repairshop but it was two weeks of annoyance. Overall, fantastic picture, 4k works great, gaming is great for a "TV" as well.

This TV is a robust buy, excellent picture quality, sound and feature rich, especially the bluetooth is great. However it is extremely slow. Not sure what is causing it, perhaps an older processor, but it can be frustrating to use at times.

Hello Jaken, Thank you for your interest in the 55H8F. We're sorry to hear that you are having issues with your unit freezing up in our experience doing a factory reset on the unit normally resolves this issue. Please perform a factory reset on the television by going to Settings>Storage & Reset>Factory Data Reset. The television will then shut off and after coming back on will prompt you to set up the TV like when it was just out of box. If this does not resolve the issue please give us a call at 1-888-935-8880 or email us at [email protected].
      Thanks Again,

We look forward to hearing from you!

The TV seems good, overall. It has a good picture, and the sound is fine. The only problem is that it has reverted to a different "input" several times, on its own, causing it to show "weak signal," or "no signal." I had to get tech assistance the first time to know to check input and re-direct it. The next time I turned it on and it had reverted to an incorrect input, I at least knew how to correct it, but I don't like that it does this intermittently and spontaneously. Other than that, I like that this TV allows me to program a time for it to go into "screen-saver" if there's no activity - I can fall asleep and not worry that I didn't turn it off!

The picture quality actually impressed me for under $400, my issues are that 1.the tv freezes all the time and won't restart unless I unplug it. 2. The internet connectivity is very bad, it looses connection for no reason at times. I have Ethernet plugged into it but that doesn't seem to matter 3. I had a Sony 900f, at the time Android TV was embarrassingly slow especially for a $1700 tv. I'm here to tell you that it's better but still is super laggy and crashes once an hour. Overall it's just not worth spending your money on. When I got it set up I thought I got a steal. One week later they can say "got em".
