Very good TV at this price. The 2nd to TCL 55R617 in terms of picture quality though Android TV OS has more features including the useful Google Assistant

I can be really picky. Reviews, ratings and the like. But this was for a secondary tv in the basement. H8F 55” was big enough. Hisense? My senses must of been high to not look at a Sony or Samsung. But price was dictating the range of brands. Hooked it up and I was really amazed. Picture was perfect. Football, shows and streaming the Mandalorian All were perfect. I did notice on YouTube that some stationary action pics definitely bloomed. But the rest of the commentary show was fine. So it wasn’t the tv. I’m impressed.

The good: - Picture quality - While it may not compete with the feature set and picture quality of the high end OLED sets, I don't think it's necessarily meant to. For what it is, it's got a really nice and sharp picture. - Local dimming - This is a big one for me - FALD. No edge bleed here, and blacks are inky black. I can't say it enough; in this price range, *very* nice to have. - HDR - Also nice to have, especially when you're watching UHD content. The two technologies kind of need to go hand and hand at this point. - HDMI inputs, including ARC - 4 HDMI inputs, one of which sends audio out to either a receiver or soundbar. - Design - I wouldn't consider this TV flashy, nor would I call it mundane. Personally, I feel like the important part of the TV is the picture, not so much the plastic shell. That being said, the bezel design is super minimal, with a slight "chin" on the lower edge. To me this gives a bit of a premium feel to it. The bad: - Processing speed - The only thing that I found issue with, and this is being really nit picky, is the speed of the internal processor. It can stream 1080p and 4k content with no problem from a variety of sources, which of course is nice. My issue was particularly with an application called Plex. I rip my 4k blurays to a server and stream them via Plex, instead of using a bluray player. Granted, probably not many actually do this, so it's certainly not a huge market to go after. And at this price point I certainly wouldn't expect the fastest internal CPU. In any case, the point is that Plex can't play my 4k rips without skipping and stuttering. Not a deal breaker by any means. Moving around the internal menus and Android TV wasn't blazing fast either, but not exactly slow enough to have issue with. Misc: - Motion Rate 240 - I'm not personally a huge fan of smooth motion technology myself. It gives everything the "soap opera" effect. Some people may like it, some people not so much. - Android TV - Again, not for everyone but does have its strengths. Overall: At this MSRP, it's tough to give this TV anything other than 5 stars. In terms of "budget" televisions, you're getting an awful lot of bang for the buck. No, it's not perfect, but you are certainly getting your money's worth and then some.

This TV has a great picture for the price. Although we had originally been searching for a Roku TV, the Android operating system has been user-friendly and a a fine trade-off.

After deciding to upgrade from my 10 year old Vizio unit and doing a great deal of research, I purchased this unit and have not been disappointed. Had it out of the box and running in about 30 minutes. Setting up my apps was a breeze. The color is absolutely vivid and bright! The remote is easy to use and I purchased an ARC soundbar which the TV recognized right away and is controlled with the TV remote. Have recommended this unit to several friends and family already, definitely a great buy.

My new tv has an excellent picture and selection of apps. The ONLY negative thing I have to say is that it doesn’t have Prime Video access like my older 55” HD Hisense had.

Grabbed this for $450 during a sale. Absolutely perfect for the price. Even has features I didn't think we would use. After initial setup, it pretty much does any needed tweaking itself as you use it. Picture optimization is one of the coolest features we didn't know we wanted and we love it.

Very happy with the picture quality and the build is very solid the metal legs make the TV feel like it is in no danger of falling over. No lag on the android interface and no issues with Netflix. Game mode works great and the upscaling seems to be working quite well. I’d say the only real catch is that the stock speakers are bad bad bad. I previously had the Samsung model at the same price range from Walmart and I’m more pleased with this.

the tv itself looks great and the picture is really nice. I don't use the sound so I cant comment. but the biggest issue I have is the tv freezing and apps crashing. happens at least a few times a day. occasionally to where I have to unplug the tv to be able to restart it. but it was pretty inexpensive, so I guess I should expect it.

The picture is amazing. Great colors, deep dark blacks, bright whites. Its an amazing picture but with all budget tv there is a draw back. The draw back is that the motion on this tv is awful. Action, sports, gaming loses all detail and it all muds together. I will be returning this tv for one with worst picture but better motion.

So far this has been a great tv though I’ve only had a few weeks now. Was a little weary at first because it wasn’t one of the top brands. But I’m glad now I went with this tv rather than the higher priced brand. This tv does all I want it to and then some. Not to mention saving hundreds of dollars by going with the Hisense. Great job Hisense at selling a cheaper tv with all the same bells and whistles as the over priced named brands but with good quality.

I blame the terrible quality of this TV mostly on the operating system - Android TV. The picture seems to be great. The TV has to update for over a half hour nearly every time we turn it on. The system is slow, glitches regularly and often turns off entirely. Streaming live sports is like watching a flip book -every frame pauses for a split second causing a truly headache-inducing watching experience. We often watch tv on our phones now since this tv seems to be out of commission updating or glitching 90% of time. Not that it matters because you couldn’t really watch it if you wanted to, but Prime video is also not available for download on Android TV. Staring at the wall is more pleasurable viewing experience than watching this TV.

Merrill our TV's should not be updating every time the unit turns on. Amazon Prime is also available via an over the air update that will be available to your TV if it is not already. Please shoot us a message at www.facebook.com/HisenseUSA/ and lets get this all resolved. Hisense
