Terrible TV
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV because I thought it had a nice design with good tech specs compared to other TVs in the same price range. However, it was a huge disappointment and you gotta be really lucky with panel lottery. I returned 2 times and all 3 panels had terrible gray uniformity. I settled with a Sony TV and I'm happy it.

Black screen after one use!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We just picked this up from Best Buy today. Plugged it in, everything worked great. We got it all set up with our apps and wireless connection. Turned the TV off, no issues. Turned it back on this evening to have our first movie night on our new TV and nothing.... Black screen. We went through every possible suggestion from unplugging to reset tv, to removing batteries in the remote control and replacing with other new batteries. Nothing, Black screen. Just a white light near the TV's manual on off switch when we'd plug it back in. If we pressed the button, or used remote again to try to turn it on, the light would go off. We unplugged for 30 seconds, then again for 1 minutes, then several minutes, and then waited another hour. Never ever reset or turned back on , just lights out, nothing. We'll be returning this TV and getting a samsung. Hopefully we'll have better luck with them.

Impressive 4K television!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV hits a good balance of nice must-have features for any 4K TV. It has a small bezel and logo making it perfect for a wall mount display and it looks great! Setting it up, you'll notice it's surprisingly light and one thing that caught me by surprise is that the included stand (feet) has two different configurations which provide more flexibility in terms of what size of stand or table you can put it on - very nice even though I did a wall mount instead. This TV has an amazing picture and would be a great upgrade to an older generation 4K TV and a perfect upgrade from a standard HD TV. Right away I was amazed at how bright and vivid the picture is. It has the right balance and the HDR with all the dimming zones makes a noticeable difference even with content that isn't necessarily HDR. Movies and games from the Xbox are smooth and look sharp. The sound is great for a TV and in fact, no other TV I have has the quality of sound like this TV does built-in. I'm very impressed with it as you really can use this one without a soundbar/sound system which is a first for me. You'd still want to add on sound for a home theatre type sound (with the thundering bass and true surround) but if you're not looking for that what this has built-in is perfect with the Dolby Atmos sound. On this same note, this TV does have an ARC function on one of the HDMI ports along with digital audio out. While I don't want to review Android TV itself but I can say that I really like Android TV over other custom software that other TV's use mostly because you have a greater selection of apps built right in. Having Google Assistant is awesome as I have Google set up throughout my home and it works better than Google does on my soundbar on my other TV. Having the power of Chromecast for casting built-in is just awesome and works great. Most of the time the menus and navigation were mostly smooth. I like the feel of the remote but for the life of me cannot understand why it is not backlit and is probably the only thing I've found that I didn't like. It offers a good number of connectivity options with 4 HDMI ports and legacy RCA composite inputs for older devices. It has two USB ports as well so you can display media from those devices. Overall, this is a great TV and I've enjoyed it and am thinking I'll look at Hisense to replace other TVs in my home. I'd recommend this!

Good performance and feature set and a great value
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this TV. It checks quite a few of the “TV boxes” at a great price. I have heard the Hisense name often over the past few years, but this was my first on-hand time with any of their products and I came away pretty impressed. Looks-wise? Well, it looks good, in-line with what modern TVs look like these days. Sleek-ish, small bezels, a flat panel, and some legs. About what you would expect. As with most TVs this size, assembly was mostly easy, as the weight is somewhat minimal, but the panel size makes the process a little awkward. Assembly “can” be done by one person, but it is so much easier with another person, I would suggest that. While it has the standard mount for wall installation (something I am thinking about in the future), Hisense does offer a nice option on the leg mounts. You can place the legs in either of two spots if you have some issues with your stand width. Options are good, and welcome. Set-up was a breeze. There is a fair amount of connectivity, with 4 HDMI ports, 2 USB, and an old composite video port. There is also built-in WiFi and Bluetooth as well as wired Ethernet and headphone ports. I only have a few external devices, so this was more than enough for me. Once I was all connected, I found the Android TV interface great to work with. Nearly every app I needed was there from the get-go and the menus were quick and snappy. Built-in Chromecast was great for me. As someone who is all-in with the Google ecosystem, I found it all intuitive and was comfortable with the voice control options. I haven’t used voice too much with my TVs in the past, but with this set-up that may change. So far, so good though. Having more things “under one roof” with my ecosystem is welcome, it just makes everything easier. All of the things I already mentioned are important, more to some than others, but picture quality is something everyone looks for in a TV. Simply put, the picture is great. Bright, vivid, and crisp. Viewing angles are good, something my previous TV struggled with. I do a lot of 4K viewing, via stream as well as Blu-ray, and it looks fantastic, especially HDR content. Blacks are inky, not perfect, but quite good. It also handles typical HD content rather well. Most of my gaming is done via PC, and I have not connected everything yet, but it is something I am looking forward to. Obviously, a lot of this is subjective, and where you are coming from, but overall, I am incredibly pleased with the picture. I know a lot of people will probably have an external speaker solution they will use, be it receiver or soundbar (as I use), but the speakers are “good.” They put out a nice sound, with some decent volume. I am big into movies, so I want a more theater-like experience, but I think many people will absolutely feel the speakers are more than adequate. The remote, is, well, a remote. It is pretty standard, with a nice layout and handles just about everything you would want. There are some nice shortcuts to apps you may use, and it handles voice commands. It is somewhat of a bummer it is not programmable, and I really wish it were back-lit for night use, but it feels good in the hand, does just about everything and it works well. No real complaints. Ultimately, I really like this TV, and it is easy for me to recommend. The picture is great, it performs well, and I like the feature-set. I really appreciate the Android TV interface. I think the TV is a great value, as I think you get more for your money than you would if you went with a more “mainstream” name. I don’t know how it will hold up over time, but given the overall package, i think it will be a non-issue.

Great picture, AI needs help
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first ever Hisense TV and my first smart TV on the AndroidTV platform. I'm pretty impressed with both. The Quantum Dot technology is amazing for picture quality and clarity. I dare say this panel outperforms my larger (and significantly more expensive) main screen in my den. The color rendition is spot on once tweaked to account for the lighting in the room. Viewing angle isn't a problem where this TV is set up but there is a setting buried in the menus to accommodate wider angles if needed. There are lots of settings you can alter to make this TV really shine in your space. One of the first things I had to figure out how to do was to shut off the AI control which wanted to automatically adjust the picture for what it perceived I was watching. While this could be a neat thing, the technology simply isn't there in this unit. In a single television episode, the algorithm would trigger up to 45 changes to "optimize" for whatevere it thought was on-screen, with each one causing a slight but noticeable pause in the picture and sound. It quickly became annoying. Once off, I have had no other issues with the performance of the screen. However, I have noticed an occasional crashing of apps. Sometimes the app will restart itself after a few seconds, sometimes it will hang completely and require me to exit and relaunch, while other times a complete shutdown of the TV is required. I don't know if that is a Hisense or Android issue. It's not something that happens every day, but I thought it was worth noting. The sound quality of the built-in speakers is actually pretty decent which is quite unusual in my experience. Although I have a soundbar attached to this TV, I believe I could easily do without it in this application (it is in the master bedroom so I'm not looking for home theater-type sound). I was able to quickly and easily connect to my Alexa account so I could have voice control. A novelty feature to be sure since the remote is intuitive and responsive. As for the remote, be sure to dig in the settings and pair the remote to the TV. That will eliminate the line of sight requirement and makes using the remote even easier since you don't have to aim it at the TV. One final thought, there is a built-in cord management system in the legs (which have the ability attach in two positions for ease of placement on whatever furniture you may have) which could stand to be a bit larger. One side has only the power cord through it but the other has 3 HDMI and a coax. Only three really fit in there and the last one is just barely holding on. Again, not a major issue, but something to know about.

No Sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This the second one of these TVs 4 days. Both of them work fine for a couple of hours. After that when you turn on the TV you have no audio no matter which input you are on. If you open any menu and exit out of it then the audio returns. I’ve tried with internal speakers, external audio amp, always the same results. Tech support wanted to send a technician out to look at it after 3 days. Instead I exchanged the television and I still have the exact same problem. I guess I’ll be returning this one and finding a different brand.

TV is unusable, firmware update request runs loop
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV is 6 months old, now requires a firmware update every time I turn it on. The update never completes and that process now runs as a loop over and over, so the TV is unusable. Reached out to Hisense USA and was told they will (still under review) send me a file and instructions by email. That is not a good sign for future updates. I think getting an android box would have been a better choice.

Feature packed but screen isn't great
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv has a lot of features built in. For the value yes it's pretty good. The screen and panel itself could be better though and for similar prices there are other options in the market I would look first.

TV built to last for 12 months - do not buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.12 months later, I received the “blinking light of death.” Either the power board or main board went out and there is no software-side recovery process without replacing the boards. When it was working, the UI was unbelievably unresponsive and clunky. When it sat for more than a few days of inactivity, I would have to unplug the TV as it would not respond to any user action. Please pay for a more reputable brand.

Needs major picture work
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv because i use to have a hisense and really enjoyed it. When i picked this tv up and brought it home it was just as good as my lrevious tv. But after a day or two i noticed my screen would start to flicker (look like a glitch) from time to time. Then it started happening frequently. Then the tv would start to freeze and randomly shut off and not want to turn on. Did many factory resets to no avail. Would not recommend to anyone.
