Best value ever, I bought Sony before,3 years later main board die, no help no part no support, Sony have best picture but expensive you pay and depend you luck to have, I am happy to try Hisense tv , easy to repair or just replace, just 40% budget than Sony and Samsung. Best value buy in2020, when I buy this tv in2020, only h9G and LG Cx can fixt my budget with 2.1 hdmi. Finally I pick the value winner H9G with no regret and no burn in worry.

I bought this 55” Hisense tv 55H9G 2 years ago. This week I got an error “storage full” and after much googling, realized the only fix for this is to replace the main board. Hisense will do NOTHING for you. I can’t even use my laptop with hdmi cable. $900 - what a rip off.

    A Surprisingly Great TV

When you think great picture TVs the big names come to mind, LG or Sony or Samsung, but I'm here to say that Hisense has definitely decided to make something that will stand out with their H9G Quantum UHD 4K TV. This TV has an amazing picture giving you one of the clearest and sharpest pictures around. Its 120hz native panel, HDR10 processing, and Quantum Dot array will ensure you get the best in UHD 4K viewing. I was seeing incredibly bright and vivid colors and deep dark blacks, I've added some photos of this. The best way to see how great the picture is on the H9G is by testing it with a scene from the movie Gemini Man, at 4K 60FPS, you'll see the TV at its full capability. The H9G uses Google/Android connectivity for its OS and its pretty easy to set up all your favorite streaming apps along with connecting your Android device or Google account. There are only two bad things I can say about this TV. One, the speakers are pretty basic, at 20watts, it can get loud but the bass is weak, even when I adjusted it manually in the settings it not as good as my other TV, which has 40watt speakers. If you're using it in a bedroom as opposed to big open living room the sound won't even be an issue. Two, it doesn't have any HDMI 2.1 ports. Overall, Hisense has made a surprising contender in the premium TV market. You'll get a great high end picture without going into the high end price range.

This is a decent ULED tv for the price. This is an android based smart TV. Setup for this TV was quick and easy; especially for having many smart features and Google Assist. The picture is crisp, clear and vibrant! Everything you'd expect from a 4k ULED TV. The pre-set picture settings do contain quite a bit of red tones; however, changing around the settings was a breeze. The biggest negative thing I will say is that this tv was horrible at first for gaming! Especially when playing games online such as GTA the screen lags like crazy making games nearly unplayable! We have 2 tvs and 2 Xbox side by side that are hardwired, we were able to confirm the issue was with the TV not the internet or Xbox. It took a few hours of playing with all the settings before I could get it working right. It would run if the picture was set to game mode. In game mode the licture gets very hazy, dull and lacks definition. I have attached pics below comparing standard vs game mode. The strange thing was that even if I edited game mode to have the same stats as standard it still wasn't comparable. When I edited standard mode to turn off the motion optimization features it got much better and became more playable. I have seen many say that the sound was less to be desired. Honestly I couldn't disagree more. I believe the sound on this tv is fantastic. The volume on it is awesome, it gets far louder than my sound bar as well as my more expensive 4k TV. This TV features Dolby Atmos audio. At extreme volumes it can get a little tinny. This TV also features a wall mount mode which enhances the sound. The Android feature of the platform has its pros and cons. It takes some getting use to. It takes some time to learn the proper phrases to use but once you do it makes life a little easier. My 6 year old now yells at the tv what she wants to watch or listen to. The biggest con we ran into is that it randomly decides to do a system updates. Thw update it just did took nearly an hour. If you were watching something live, something like this could ruin your day.

DO NOT BUY HISENSE TV OR BEST BUY WARRANTY

Bought the TV in September of 2020. Worked great for 8 months and then when we turned it on one day, streaks were all across the screen. Gradually this grew into the top of the tv going black. Called Hisense and submitted the correct pics and info to have it covered under warranty and they replied that it a cracked screen and that the warranty didn't cover accidental or physical damage. The TV has sat in the same place for 8 months. We have no kids throwing anything around. There is no way there was any physical or accidental damage on our end. I also bought an extended warranty from Best Buy but they said they couldn't step in until the manufacturers warranty was up and even then, they wouldn't cover it. DO NOT BUY A HISENSE TV OR THE BEST BUY WARRANTY. BOTH ARE A WASTE OF MONEY1111

Great Picture BUT Some Motion Artifacts

I've had this tv for about a month now, and I'm happy with the purchase so far. I did substantial research on Rtings.com and other consumer sites before settling on this one. The image quality is every bit as impressive as others have remarked upon. It's simply stunning with 4K HDR content. The blacks are very deep and the the picture looks terrific. It's also very bright, so it will easily handle a well-lit room. I use "Theater Night" as my default setting for streaming content. I also have a Nintendo Switch, and the games look quite a bit better than on my previous 10-year-old Vizio set. I do not use the "Game" setting, as the image quality suffers quite dramatically, and the only upside that I can see for that setting is the reduced input lag. I imagine that for next-gen consoles, the tv might not deliver in the same way that $1000+ sets do. The only issue I've noticed with this set is motion artifacts while streaming DolbyVision content on Netflix (specifically The Crown). Sometimes when a human face is situated in dark backgrounds, the edges of the face will create strange-looking blurry artifacts. It's a bit distracting once you see it. If you're considering buying this tv, I would recommend researching "red-ghosting artifacts on Hisense H9G" to get a sense for what I'm talking about. This is not a deal-breaker for me, as it only seems to occur on The Crown (as far as I can tell at the moment). There are so many things to like about the amazing picture quality on this set. Even with the motion artifacts, I would still give this set a strong recommendation, especially at $700.

It's only been a few days with a lot of hours viewing content from various streaming services(4k). I am extremely happy with what I see so far from this TV. It's very bright and crisp. And let me advise you that this TV DOES NOT require a soundbar. It gets plenty loud enough with it's down firing speakers with all their Dolby richness. I have a very good soundbar and it doesn't sound any louder/better than the TV's built in speakers. Impressive! This TV gets you a lot of the premium tech usually reserved for the top brands and models. And while it's not the cheapest tv on the wall at the store. You need to pay attention to the bright high lumen picture. This TV is very bright, and more than enough to show off Dolby Vision and HDR content the way it is meant to look. So when you see all those vivid videos the store plays on a loop. This TV plays the same quality at home when you watch Netflix/Amazon/YouTube 4K content. Even everyday cable TV looks good too, but depending on your provider, it probably won't look as good as the streaming sites 4k content. And right out the box. My default settings were very close to gorgeous. Although, I did turn all the motion settings off. (I don't like the soap opera look it creates.) Another super nice feature I noticed. Each input can be setup for it's own quality profile. This means you can set input 1 to connect a cable box and have brightness/contrast/color/audio one way. Then on input 2/3/4(game console/Blu-ray/computer/etc) each of them can have settings set specifically for how you like those devices to look(or you can toggle all to be the same). Very nice bonus. A+ I also want to mention for those of you with an Android phone. The TV can use your phone to help set up the TV in just a couple minutes. Very easy to do for all skill levels with or without an Android phone. I will also mention the one minor negative that can hopefully be fixed with updates down the road. There seems to be a touch of latency either in the menu system of smart features or between the tv and the remote itself. It's not always there, but found myself having to push buttons a couple of times before I saw a response on screen. I included a couple picture samples and while my phone's camera likely did not do the tv image justice...this is a real capture of at home video content that's as good as the stores video loop footage! Inky blacks and vivid colors that pop. Excellent first impression of Hisense.

I loved this tv except 4 months into using it the screen went completely black although you can hear the sound. I contacted Hisense customer service and they sent me a technician who fixed the black screen problem. However, the same issue came back 2 months after the technician supposedly fixed it. Very disappointing as I haven't even used it for a year.

A TV That’s Truly Fully Loaded!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

After using this TV, I am extremely pleased! The first thing I love about this TV is how clear it is! For the value, this TV is far clearer than any TV I’ve seen in this price range. The next thing I like about this TV is how easy it was to assemble. All I had to do was screw the legs on and within seconds, I was ready to start using the TV. The next thing I liked about the whole set up process was how easy it was to select my preferences in order to start watching TV. There were just a few questions about my preferred settings (which only took me a few minutes). Normally, it seems like it’s far more complicated to set up a TV. However, this TV was literally fully ready to start using within ten minutes. The next thing I liked about this TV was how nicely it streams with my Google account history and content. This makes it easy to ensure that everything I do is streamlined. The next noteworthy feature to point out is the wide variety of apps that are available. This allows me to find my favorite content. Another important feature to point out is how bright this TV is. Even in direct sunlight, I’m able to clearly watch my favorite shows. This TV is also quite “intelligent” with its auto dimming settings. The TV will automatically adjust itself to fit in the current environment. I also really appreciate how high-quality the sound on this TV is. The sound is very balanced and extremely loud. I typically only have the volume turned up a quarter of the way because of how powerful this TV’s speakers are! In terms of durability, this TV really amazes me with its completely metal frame. It really seems like ultra-durable materials have been used in the manufacturing of this product. The next noteworthy feature I want to point out is the sleep feature of this TV. If I want to fall asleep to some music, I can easily set the TV to turn itself off after a specified amount of time. This is something that some of my previous TV’s haven’t offered. The last feature I want to point out is how easily this TV is able to connect to my Bluetooth devices. This is great for adding an external accessory. So far, there hasn’t been anything I haven’t been able to accomplish with this TV! I’ve watched movies, TV, listened to music, and even used the included Google assistant to find my favorite content! Overall, I’m very impressed with this TV and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a TV with stunning clarity and full app steaming capabilities. This TV has everything I think I’d ever need. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.

PROS: - Great picture with good color, contrast and deep blacks - Google assistant built in (with PHYSICAL on/off switch on tv and button on remote) - Chromecast built in - Android OS works pretty well, clean, user friendly - Ports on the side for easier access - 4 HDMI ALL 4k@60, 1 ARC - Decent amount of settings and options - There are a lot of calibration options, not as much as some higher end tvs, but still a good amount including white balance adjustments, color tones, gamma calibration as well as noise and digital noise reduction and some others - great value for its class and stands up to some of the bigger name models in a lot of categories - Actually has decent speakers, though I’d still recommend a sound bar or AVR - Sleep timer, (pretty standard) but also a timer to turn the display on (or off) once or daily. CONS: - Wall mount holes are sunken in on 2 of 4 holes (see picture) making it slightly more complicated to mount unless you have spacers with your wall mount. Not a big deal..until you don’t have spacers. - Can’t hide the volume display on screen icon when using arc (minor but worth noting) - no “info” button to see input, resolution, time, audio out, etc. UPDATE: I did find this feature but it is hidden in the menu under “help”. I’m glad this is available but still wish it was a button on the remote. That said it gives you all the info you’d want - standard power cord end vs 90 degree angle which hides behind wall mounts better. I could not use an old wall mount that was less than 3 inches off the wall and had to buy a new mount - “motion enhancements” (the soap opera effect) is on by default on almost all inputs - there’s a bit of bloatware, some you can delete, some you can not, but can disable FIRST THOUGHTS: 55 inches of gorgeous, 4K HDR display is what you get with this TV. That’s the short version. It’s got a great picture, more than ideal for the average and even above average user. This probably isn’t going to be the right TV for those looking for the best of the best and who are very picky about their settings and visuals but even they will find a happy compromise with the calibration options available in this unit. Right out of the box, this TV has a solid picture, but it takes a few steps to see that. When you first plug it in you’re going to have to go through some setup and questions and give google access to your soul. Ok ok, no, it’s not that bad, it’s the world we live in but if you prefer not to then there’s a lot of CRT’s available at garage sales. That being said, there is still a decent amount of opt OUT options for those like me who prefer not to share EVERYTHING for advertising gain etc. If you know what you’re doing and are familiar with standard agreements and privacy settings, you should be able to navigate your way through the setup. Signing in with a google account unlocks all the good fun stuff of this TV and activating the built in google assistant gives you the ability to control the TV with your voice as well as your smart home and anything else you use your assistant for. This was a great feature for me, we have a google smart speaker in most rooms of the house and I was able to use this TV as a replacement for the speaker in the same room and move that speaker to another room. If you don’t like the google assistant or prefer to not have open mics in your room, Hisense has installed a PHYSICAL switch to turn off the speaker. Having a switch VS a setting in the menu gives you a piece of mind that the mic is off and remains off. PICTURE QUALITY: The picture quality on this TV is really good, especially for the price and it’s class. You would expect the same quality in brands like Sony, LG, Vizo and Samsung but I was pleasantly surprised to see this screen really does put up a fight to stand next to those big name brands. Is it the same? No. But I’d also bet 80% of people can’t see the difference. Personally, I work in video and image production and perhaps have a better eye for things than most but I can still tell you this is not a bad display by any means. It has deep blacks and can really put out a bright picture. Contrast is good but I have noticed some blooming on logos and load screens over black, which is usually something you can work out with a good calibration (which I have not done yet) but just some minor tweaking has allowed me to reduce the glow and get a better picture. So far I’ve tested a few streaming options like Avengers Endgame and Stars Wars (IV) in 4K Dolby Vision on Disney+ and Grand Tour on Amazon (also 4K HDR) and can say the HDR is very well done. The picture profile automatically switches to Dolby Vision (where you’ll have to turn off smooth motion ...again) and gives you 3 options; Dark, Bright, and Custom, allowing you to calibrate some settings when in Dolby Vision HDR mode. When not viewing HDR content, I found the Theater picture profile to be best after some setting changes including turning off smooth motion (soap opera). As noted in the pros and cons, unfortunately this setting is on by default and any serious viewers know the setting is not really one you want on. But if you do enjoy that setting, there are a few options to choose from. SMART FEATURES: The Hisense H9G 65in 4K HDR TV with Google assistant and Android OS has a lot of smart features as the long name would imply. The home screen is easy to use and navigate out of the box and personally I like to customize the layout to make apps we use most often on top and remove or hide apps we don’t use. The ability to modify the layout was a big plus for me as well as having a lot more apps to choose from thanks to the google play store, something my other “smart” TVs don’t. The chromecast built in shows up like any other casting device in the list found on your phone or whatever you are casting from. With a google account and google assistant turned on, you can control any of your smart home items that your assistant has access to as well as some TV functions. I usually don’t care much about “smart” features on a TV but these are actually worth mentioning and can be really handy, especially for someone who does a lot of streaming. OVERALL (TL;DR) Overall I really like this TV, it’s better than my TCL but not as good as my Sony 900e and some parts are better than my VIZIO M series but some are not. I’d call it an above average TV for an average price considering it’s 4K HDR. It has a better OS (andorid) than TCL (Roku) or Vizo and has chromecast built in as well as an android assistant mic. (I saw in the settings something for amazon alexa but I do not use Alexa so I did not set that up). The picture is very good and vivid and with the right tweaks to picture settings you can have a display beyond ready for movie night or some video game sessions. Hisense has really stepped up their game lately and I have to admit they’re in the conversation now for good quality, lower price TVs and the H9G Quantum series is up to the task.

Now that I have owned this TV for about a week and a half, I feel I can give it a fair assessment. My initial thoughts out of the box: Packaged well, build quality appears good (especially for the price), remote isn't anything special (I use a Harmony), weight and overall profile is fairly sleek. As I have it mounted on my TV stand, I cannot comment on the base/feet/stand the TV comes with. With some tweaks, picture quality is solid. Upscaling is handled well, colors can really pop, local dimming works good (blooming isn't too bad), blacks mostly appear black, great HDR peak brightness, 4K content looks good on Disney+, Amazon Video, Hulu, and through my Samsung UDB-K8500 player. Though this is likely an issue with Disney+, picture quality can be hit or miss with Dolby Vision. Well lit scenes can really pop, but darker scenes can sometimes appear soft. HDR10 content on Amazon Video does not appear to have a softer picture in darker sequences. Again, it's likely tied to the Disney+ app. I do experience the purple hue in some dark areas of video games in HDR. This can be remedied with some workarounds, but a proper fix is supposedly being pushed out by Hisense. Other than that, video game performance has been very good in game mode. Colors look good, no motion or blurring issues, and input lag is minimal. Overall performance of the TV and software is fairly smooth. The only hiccups I have come across are inconsistencies with my Harmony activities (sometimes switching inputs will shut the TV off), settings initially not sticking (they completely reset on me once), HDMI 1 sometimes showing no signal (still testing to see if it's the TV or my A/V receiver), and occasional choppiness in menus. Many of you may read about some potential quality control concerns with Hisense. I cannot say they are unwarranted, as the first H9G I purchased had some dead pixels in the upper left corner. A purple hue in dark HDR video game sequences is real, software can be buggy, and they don't have they greatest track record with some previous years' models. That said, my exchanged H9G, outside of some minor issues mentioned above, has been a good investment. Seeing what I can get in this price range, versus a Sony X900H at $350 more, is very impressive. The main thing an X900H has over my H9G are HDMI 2.1 ports, with VRR support coming later this year. If you're on a budget and want the best bang for your buck, give this a serious look! If you aren't in a hurry to get a new TV now, maybe wait until October or November when TCL releases their new 6 series lineup.

This tv packs a punch way above its weight class. The tv is bright, the picture quality matches those that cost double the amount this one did. There are a couple of things it could do better such as the haloing on certain images but it's not a deal breaker, it's a by product of LED tech. The blacks are great and is by far the briggtest tv I've ever had. I have an LG tv that is better overall but it was also 4x's the price. Dollar for dollar you cant beat it.

The Hisense H9G tv is absolutely stunning. Installation and setup was a breeze. Took less than 5 minutes to set up desired apps and settings. Picture quality is almost movie theater quality. Split second response to change apps. Sounds really good. Would not recommend for gaming. Has imput lag on controller wired/wireless. Great for everything else. Tv quickly recognizes HDMI input. The good. Great picture quality for the price. Colors pop, black levels are deep, brightness will have you reaching for sunglasses and contrast is very good. Also I love the stand and game input is very good. This TV is also one of the very few that supports Dolby Vison, HDR 10+, HLG and HDR10 and the Android TV platform makes sure that you have plenty of apps. Now for the cons of the TV. At extreme brightness levels there is blooming if it around a dark background (example the credits or opening screens) Colors out of the box are not very accurate at all so you will have to play with it to get it better or calibration might be something you want to consider. Storage for saving apps is extremely limited so you will find yourself having to delete apps from time to time. I have not yet tested if a storage drive is possible to put the apps under. Viewing angles are subpar also so you want to be in the middle and not off to the side of the screen. It's a great TV for the money though and I would recommend to most people.
