Good, With Pros & Cons
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV based on good reviews and a $299 sale price. It's not perfect, but there are some good points and bad. Lets start with the bad. As noted by several other posts, the Netflix interface is awful. It worked fine at first, but then after a few days I kept getting an error message and the TV just would not connect to Netflix. All the other apps worked fine. If the Netflix issue continues I will just revert to using Chromecast. Also as previously noted, the TV shipped without Amazon Prime as an app, but a firmware update arrived that added AP. I hope Hulu will be added soon, but its not that big a deal. I also hope the firmware update fixes the Netflix glitch, but too soon to tell. (Note: If the TV splash screen shows a 2018 Russia World Cup logo, it does not have latest firmware. It will eventually be sent to the TV.) Now the good. The picture is very good, though at times it does get a little pixelated (maybe ATT's fault). Sound isn't great, but I have heard a lot worse. I'm running through an external audio system, so I don't care about onboard speakers. Audio menu is easy to configure for external output. The TV has a bunch of apps, but honestly I have never heard of most of them. The built in internet browser seems to work fine and allows streaming of video for sources that don't have an app. I like the remote control. It feels solid, is easy to read, and features one-click access to some of the most popular apps. The unit is made in Mexico from what I assume was the former Sharp TV plant. Overall, a 55" 4K HDR TV with good picture quality makes this TV a good choice even without the smart features.

Nice TV but...

We've set one up so far and the picture is really nice and we like it. The only problem is whenever we pause the TV there is a very high pitched squealing noise that is killing our 25 yr old daughter's ears. As my husband and I are older, we can't hear it. I've done some research and this appears to be a problem with this brand of TV in any size. The only thing that I've found that helps is if I mute the TV before I pause it. We went through all the different settings on the TV itself, but none of them resolved the noise. So, if you have perfect hearing you might have an issue with this TV. For the price though I think it's probably worth the hassle.

Good tv for the price, apps/platform not good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A 55" 4k tv for $300, the price beats everyone else, if you have an android box such as the $25 amazon fire, it will be great, otherwise it will be painful. The vewd platform ( previoused called firebox tv i guess ) needs a lot of improvements, there are not a lot of apps, for example, pbs kids, cbs news, fox sports and ect, and for the ones you get, many of them are not stable. The included media player is garbage, sound and picture gets out of sync 5 minutes after playing. I think so far the only app that works very well is the youtube app. But anyway, for $300 the smart feature is just a bonus.

It does what it should - it is a TV, a smart TV, and as such, functions as one. However, I can't get many of my usual apps such as Hulu, so I have to use a Roku with it. In which case, I might as well have gotten a non-smart TV. Also, the picture is alright, but not great. Certain dark colors look very fuzzy or grainy, and picture isn't as clear or bright as my 1080 LG, even though this is 2160. To be fair, I don't know much about TVs so maybe my expectations were too high or user error is at fault. However, had I known all this, I would've spent just a tiny bit more for the Roku tv.

Excellent TV

I also purchased a JBL soundbar and sub-woofer to pair with it as it was a bit unclear how the speakers would sound in my basement man cave (about 500' sq ft.) Turns out I didn't really need the sound bar and subwoofer. I have it connected to an amplified OTA antenna on my roof, a ROKU for streaming and a blu-ray player. I still have a HDMI jack that isn't used. The color and clarity are great. It connects wirelessly to my home router, so my grand-daughter can connect to their favorite You-tube channels. It was actually the first 4K UHD television I purchased. I also have a Sony Bravia and TCL now. I definitely has better built in sound than either of the other 2. There are other jacks (RCA style) for older gaming systems. I would have bought a couple more of these but it is too big to fit in the space I had for my other 2 4KUHD tv.s

Buggy Netflix Software and no Prime Video

Blacks much darker than my 12 year old set, but off angle viewing worse. Two problems - Netflix app is glitchy - must log all the way out and reset app every couple days - no issue with my Roku or other Netflix apps in house on other sets. Also prime video featured in the product description, but is not available (I even called and Hisense confirmed). If I knew I would have to purchase another streaming device for both these problems, I would have purchased a different set

not true about 120hz
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.buying a TV refresh rate is one of the top concern other than pic qual. 120hz is reserved for higher or mid end, this says 120hz every where except it isn't. the real fast TV, you should be able to slow down or adjust to your need. good tuner, picture and sound quality however. still does long delay on remote respond, 4-5 sec. not going to live with it, returning it. although i got it for cheaper than their regular sale price, still not serve my purpose.

Great system for my needs
