I literary just got home with this tv and after 10minutes of powering it on, we packed it back up and will be returning it tomorrow. Our 3 year old broke our TCL 4 series 55in and bought this as a replacement. I did a lot of research before purchasing and thought I’d give this a try. I can honestly say this tv was disappointing. If you are looking to use your HULU or downloading other apps, forget about it. This tv has built in apps and cannot download anything more than what they offer. Their App Store was a joke. Besides HULU, you cannot download amazon prime - even though it uses Alexa. No nick, no Disney, nothing. The picture quality was AMAZING in 4K (better than the TCL) but regular HD wasn’t as great. The quality was grainy. The sound was AMAZING!!! that’s it. My husband was watching a 4K video and it froze after less than 30seconds of the video playing (we were using an Ethernet/LAN connection so you cannot blame this on our internet connection). It seems as though the tv couldn’t handle the amount it was displaying. Listen to the other reviews, It will freeze. My advice - if you are looking for something sound the $360-$450 range for a 55”inch + tv, go with the TCL 4series. The quality is just as great, sound lacks but not too bad, the apps and tv overall is user friendly. You can find most apps with the TCL. Save your time, money and peace of mind and get the TCL 4series. I’m returning this Hisense H8E tv as soon as the store opens.

We use it for DIRECTV - picture quality is great. My kids play Xbox on it and it works well for them. I really enjoy the YouTube button. YouTube 4k videos look phenomenal. Only downside is that Netflix has connection issues and from the reviews, I suppose I'll have to figure out how to upgrade the firmware.

Got this tv and my review it that it is one of the best tv for its price. It has high premium features 4K/Harman Kardon speakers/Smart Tv. I had no issues with WiFi and Netflix integrated with one click. I had Netfix 4K subscription and it instantly started Netflix in 4K mode. I have been using the tv for last 3 months and I have no complaints. Color is vivid and sound amazing. One of the best buy not only for the price but also for the features.

Wanted to comment specifically on some the negative reviews. Comparing this TV to high end UHD HDR TVs is unfair. In the sub-400 category this probably is the best option around. The picture quality is good (especially in 4K), colors are vivid and sound is amazing (Harman Kardon). It had a few glitches with Netflix and wifi initially but that's been fixed with software updates. For apps outside of the Hisense App Store, getting a streaming device (Fire, Roku) for 30-40 odd makes more sense than forking another 250-300 on an LG/Samsung TV.

I am very happy with our Hisense 55'' TV which we got just before the FIFA world cup. Watching the world cup on this TV was such a delight. Picture quality is great and works very well as the main TV in our house. I have Roku and my Xbox hooked on to it and kids are loving how easily they can operate all their favorite devices with this TV. Netflix, Amazon prime and some of the other apps on the TV are also working well. I would totally recommend this TV for anyone looking for a good reliable TV

I've been using this TV for over 2 months now, and I'm very satisfied with it. The menu options are not the greatest and it takes a little getting used to after the simplicity and intuitiveness of an Apple TV. But, the picture quality is good, and it has pretty good audio quality for a flat screen. I usually watch sports on HD and haven't noticed any perceivable lag that would stop me from enjoying the quality of the content especially fast moving objects. I mostly watch tennis and golf and the balls traveling at high speed are not pixelated.

The TV is overall a good product with the exception of the performance and quality of a number of HiSense TV applications such as Netflix and the World Cup App. In addition, the ports are a slightly difficult to reach when the TV is mounted. Image quality is good, sound quality is good. Would recommend to friend, but not strongly.

I purchased a 50 inch LED 1080p Smart HDTV (Model #H5 Series - 50H5GB) from Best Buy on 1/31/16. At the time, I did my research, but if you look them up now, there are more than 500 customer complaints through BBB and terrible reviews of actual users. Unfortunately, they were all AFTER I purchased mine. No matter that model, the complaint was the same - it dies and quickly. As for my model: While advertised as a "smart" TV, it works with an app store called Opera or something and it does not offer Hulu. That was irritation number one. It was always a little slow and often the pictures would pixilate, as if the wifi wasn't strong enough, but that wasn't the problem. About a year ago it started "blipping." It would be working fine and then suddenly the screen would go grey. You had to turn it off and back up to "reboot" it. This began to increase in frequency about 6 months ago. About 2 weeks ago it started "freezing." Whatever it was doing, it would just stop, frozen on the image. You couldn't exit the app, you couldn't turn the TV off (with the remote or manually) - nothing. Once I left it on to see how long it took to realize it was inactive and turn off - went overnight and never turned off. We would have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work. Yesterday, it worked in the morning, but by evening, even though the standby light would work appropriately (thus confirming the power supply wasn't the issue), there was no picture or sound. Just a black screen. The serial number indicates that the TV was manufactured in June 2015. So 3.5 years old, and we've own it for less than 3. Of course, the warranty is only 2 years. So I called their Trouble Shooting phone number, and the woman confirmed my warranty was expired and when she asked what was happening and I told her, her actual response was "Well, it's not supposed to do that." OF COURSE NOT!! So I went to the website. Be sure to specify US or you're going to get a website in a different language. On their FAQ/Trouble Shooting page you have to enter the model number. Mine turns up no results. How is that possible? So I do an online chat with a representative (Shadae). She asks me the same questions, tells me the answer is on their website and when I protested, she referred me to the manual (which has NOTHING in it except check the power, and be sure the power switch is on, use the remote to turn it on, and if the light's on, power's good - how is that troubleshooting for "no sound or picture?!") and when I protested, she sent this "Please unplug TV power outletRemove [sic] all connected cables from the TVPress [sic] and hold power button on Tv while unplugged atleast [sic] 30 seconds - 1 MinuteRelease Power button then replug TV without connectionsDo [sic] you see the little red light at the bottom of the right or left hand corner blinkingWe [sic] what we call a flashlight test. True the TV on Look slowly at the TV form approximately a 90 degree angle. Flash the flashlight through the front screen at approximately a 90 degree angle." WHAT IS THAT?! What are we doing? Unplugging and replugging it back in?! Don't you think we've tried that?! And what is a flashlight test?! What are we looking for? What does it do/tell us? I have NEVER had a television give out that early. We have had our old tube ones for a hundred years, and our JVC and Sony flatscreens for 7 and 10 years respectively. All of them work perfectly fine. Never had an issue - and my JVC is a factory rebuild, so it's not even new. I was shocked. I did my research for complaints before I bought it and didn't see any, so I'm making sure that I put mine out there so NO ONE makes the mistake I made. Looks like I was lucky I got almost 3 years out of it based on the reviews out there now. Absolute insanity. Utter waste of money. I plan to send them (and Best Buy - who screwed me out of my protection plan too, to really slap me in the face) the repair bill. Let's just hope I can fix it!

I just got one recently and have been very happy with the TV. The set up was easy to do and the picture quality is very good. While HiSense might not be a popular brand here in US, definitely worth a consideration if you are in the market to buy a TV.

This is a quality TV at a great price point. Picture quality is remarkable, setup is quick and easy, and the set comes with a goods suite of built-in apps (of particular pleasant topical value was the bundled FIFA World Cup 2018 app).

I got this TV for my living room a month back and no doubt it's a great value for money! Picture and sound quality is quite decent compared to other TV in this price range. Resisting myself from giving 5 stars due to their buggy Netflix app which I can't use at all.

Got this TV a month ago and I am happy with it so far. Easy setup. The 4K image is crisp and clear, and I have a great experience watching streaming videos on it. Netflix HD looks quite vivid and bright and the sound quality is also good enough. The TV has 3 hdmi ports, and you can get a splitter and hook up more devices. I have my xbox connected, and I am considering to add a stereo to it. There is also one USB port which is quite convenient for cameras and other hard drive access. I used it to show pictures to friends and satisfied with the image display quality. Don't have subscriptions for cable tv so I won't comment on that, but overall I would say it is a great deal and I even got another one for my friend.

    Good picture Quality, Bad UI

Got this TV recently but not tested everything though after upgrading latest software from Hisense servers. Good things 1st: - Good picture quality and HDR appears to be working well, seems panels and chips inside doing good job - Aesthetics good looking in a room - Price to value ratio good - Setup- fairly easy - Great sound quality - Remote is good - Some good pre installed Apps Cons: - Thumbnails on the screens have weird colors, tried adjusting, does not work well - Netflix keeps failing to load content after clicking in the same room where other devices work - Have to reset wifi passwords and settings almost all the time after turning on the TV - Cast function does not work with some of devices I think software maturity and navigating UI needs to be redefined or fixed. Overall TV is good looking with good picture quality though.
