Customers are saying

Customers admire the 55" Class U8 Series Mini-LED 4K UHD QLED Smart Google TV (2024)'s exceptional picture quality, vibrant colors, and deep black levels, often comparing it favorably to higher-priced OLED TVs. Many appreciate the ease of use and the smooth refresh rate, particularly for gaming. However, some users note limitations in the viewing angle and brightness consistency. The price point is frequently cited as a significant advantage.

Give a nice picture and plenty bright with nice colors. It has very good sound for a tv. Lots of options to adjust things to get it how you like it. Still deciding on the Google UI as it’s the first times using it on my TV, I’m used to the Samsung UI on my main TV as this is in the bedroom. Easy access to the apps and the free internet tv. The only gripe I have is with the menu. It comes up on the bottom of the screen and the writing may be hard to read if you’re not close to the tv unless you have very good eyesight. Beyond that I like this tv and everything else about it.

I did a lot of research before making this purchase. I already own a Sony Bravia 7. Its great! But for half the price the Hisense is equally great. As a bonus, the TV speakers are better than the Sony. I had to get a Sonos ARC soundbar for the Sony but the Hisense built in speakers are fine. I saved even more money. Just for peace of mind, I did buy the five year warranty coverage from BestBuy Geek squad. Great TV and and I sleep well at night.

We purchased this TV just before the 2024 Summer Olympics, and we have been extremely pleased with the picture & sound quality. The Olympics looked great, and movies do too. The picture quality is very sharp and the built-in 50W sound system is surprisingly powerful. It's a huge improvement over our ~5 year old TCL 50" Class 4-Series. The adjustment from Roku TV to Google TV has been very easy. Highly recommend!

I needed a TV bright enough for our covered outdoor patio, especially in the afternoon when the sun hits hardest. We had a TCL 5 Series in the bedroom, but once we moved it outside, it just wasn't cutting it in terms of visibility. After doing some research on NIT ratings, I was surprised to find how highly this particular model was rated—especially considering the price at Best Buy. We decided to give the 55" version a shot, expecting it to be “just okay.” Wow, were we wrong ... like really wrong, but in the best way possible. Once installed, the whole family was blown away. This thing is bright at all times of day and looks absolutely stunning on the patio. It’s the perfect patio TV!

Very good picture quality, the anti-reflective seal on the screen is an incredible addition, it really helps reduce the reflection normally seen in all of my other flat screen TVs and monitors. Fir the price this one is really going to be hard to beat.

I love how you can customize the way the colors and the picture looks in every source. The picture comes through perfectly, no matter if you are watching a movie, the news, gaming, its enjoyable altogether. I would buy again, no question!

The picture, after changing the settings some, is very nice now. We don’t care for the Google OS system, but will get used to it. Sound from internal speakers is very nice in our smaller living room.

My bedroom TV (Samsung Q90R 65-inch) recently became defective (bottom half of LEDs became dim) so I was in the market for a replacement bedroom TV but also something affordable. This would be my first Hisense TV in my life and I decided to go with it because I've heard many good things about it especially the price point (it was on sale for $699.99 at the time of purchase). Brought it home, did the setup, and started watching. The local dimming on this TV once it's turned ON is great, however, my unit had really bad DSE (Dirty Screen Effect) to where a good portion of the center of the screen looked "dirty" and it bothered the heck out of me. As much as I liked the local dimming, the DSE showing up everytime local dimming didn't function was something I couldn't live with so I ended up returning it.

For the price point, this is an excellent TV. While OLED tends to be all the rage (with good reason), this TV will serve you quite well if your room tends to be bright. Bright, clear, and 4K viewing is outstanding. I never listen to shows/movies via the TV speakers so I will not comment on the sound quality.

Hisense may have a liftime customer if this tv lasts. It has literally everything you could want for AAA pc gaming: Auto low latency mode, 144 hrz ( I had to go to redit to find the setting to enable this mode ), Variable refresh rate with AMD freesync, 3000 nit peak brightness and amazing colors with its quantom dots.

Have been using this TV for a few weeks now, and it has been a great TV. It took very little work to find a picture setting I liked. My previous TV was 2018 Vizio and this one runs much smoother. I have been very happy with it.

This is a very impressive TV for the price. Blacks are great with no evident bleed through. Colors are vibrant and crisp and the viewing angle is good. Onboard sound is ok, but we ended up connecting it to a surround sound bar to improve the experience.

Welp, it’s a case of I didn’t know what I was missing. I went fro a 43” to a 55” much better quality tv & the differences is pretty spectacular. The sound and the presentation are much better than what I had. Next purchase will be a sound bar!

The tv is in our sunroom and the old led tv had a lot of glare. I read several “best of “ reviews and the U8 was highly recommended and the product description listed glare reduction. After 2 weeks I am very pleased. The picture is perfect and very clear. Great product for the price.

No huge complaints except it seems to require constant fiddling with the different HDR settings. Remote is awesome. Sound is incredible for a TV. Mine developed an issue that was covered by the warranty thankfully but still not ideal. I've never had a set crap out on me in under a year before
