Wifi issues

For some reason as the router is just above the tv the tv reports wifi issues and the remedy seems to be a reset. Connected a LAN cable

Incredible TV: Picture and Sound

Shows and movies I have seen before look so amazing that I can get caught up in awe of how it looks and stop following the story line. The sound quality is also impressive and no need for extra sound bar.

And they were right. The Hisense U8 is a feast for the eyes. And it's smart the way a 'smart tv' ought to be. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Looks as good as my LG C9 OLED without the burn-in issue. Google TV is slower and not as user friendly as LG Channels and Samsung TV Plus but allows you to create a favorites list on the Live tab that combines antenna, cable and app channels. 2 year warranty is a bonus.

Will not go quietly

Does not play well with Direct TV nor Roku and other brands did very well. I now need three remotes where with Samsung and Sony only one. WORST part though is you do not get to use any of the great features you bought and paid for WITHOUT signing your life and all of your privacy info away to the world. Yep… on screen says you have to give up privacy to access tv features and programming. Do not buy if you are sick and tired of you and others at your home being voice recorded, videotaped, and having all your consumer information and communication and contacts puked out to the world. Shame on politicians for letting this happen. Back in the 60’s when all the people out in Berkeley were screaming that the Man will be watching us… well… they were right!

Every TV powered by Google TV is designed to integrate seamlessly with Google’s ecosystem, which requires acceptance of their terms and conditions to enable full functionality—including basic features. While Google TV’s initial setup does require accepting their terms to proceed, we want to assure you that you can still use basic functions (such as HDMI for your DVD player) without an active internet connection. Here’s how: Go to Menu → Settings → Network & Internet → Wi-Fi and turn it off. This way, the TV won’t communicate with Google’s servers while still allowing local use. You’ll retain access to HDMI inputs, USB ports, and other offline features. Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Not a flagship as we all know but won't hesitate to recommend it because it does the basics it is required to especially with recent reading of class-action lawsuits being sought on misleading technological/marketing terms of QLED and OLED or of insufficient thereof ... nice tv, nicer remote control, color is okay BUT for the very noticeable (for me) drag in interface ... had to wait this long and just the tv do its thing

Variable refresh rate processor? I don't know but BestBuy admitted there were some QC issues with HiSense ..and then replaced it with a larger TCL- Delivered to my house for no extra charge and even refunded me a small amount in difference because of the TCL sale price...Thanks BestBuy! The TCL is a GREAT replacement.
