Poor customer service

Really hated how there customer service treated me when the 65inch i bought new on here didn't understand that i was reporting a unfinished unite that only had the stands no screws or accessories in it. But best buy got me the 55inch and clear stuff up but how hisence treated me i dont recomend it. Also the tv when hooked up to both my gaming consoles randomly splits the screen in half with green on the left and black on the right on top of your picture and randomly does this and disconnects signal from your device hooked up by hdmi. If it wasn't a gift i would return it for the money back.

Poor quality control

The first had a noise coming from the back of it and the second had a dark spot and dead pixels. Exchanged for a Sony X90J and couldn't be happier.

Phenomenal TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m the type of person to do tons of research before I even step into a store so when I was in the market for a new TV, I researched how Hisense is often overlooked for their quality and performance. I’ve been using it for two years now and it’s performed exceptionally well for me. It has the deepest blacks I’ve ever seen outside OLED. My roommate had an LG OLED and in a side by side comparison it’s negligible and you don’t have anxiety about potential burn in. With multiple 120hz outputs as well, it’s great for both my PC and PS5. The Google TV built in is super fast as well as a bonus. Surprisingly good sound quality as well.

Hisense U8G delivers a great option for gamers

I have the 55" model and its pretty great with one major issue that I will address. Unboxing this was very simple and your basic packing material inside the box. Attaching the legs to the TV was pretty simple 4 screws did it myself without help. I did find the TV quite heavy and had my wife help me carry it to it's final resting place. I am using this 55" monster for my main pc monitor. First thing you need to know this TV is bright and will burn out your eyeballs at 1500 nits peak brightness. That said it's amazing to look at. Comes with the usual ports but of important note you have 4 hdmi ports 2 basic that can do up to 4k-60hz and two that can do 4k-120hz (one of which is your E-Arc port.) I have my tv hooked up through a denon receiver via the e-arc port minimal configuration required working as expected. The input lag without the instant gaming mode toggled on is very noticeable just moving around the desktop but once gaming mode is toggled on smooth as butter at 60hz (don't have an hdmi 2.1 gpu yet). The issue I mentioned is ghosting. Currently when you toggle the instant gaming mode on you will get some very bad and noticeable ghosting. The good news is I have reached out to Hisense personally and they have assured an OTA update is on the way in the next month that will address this issue. It's really my only complaint with the unit other than that you are getting a top of the line unit that won't beat an LG OLED but for the price difference is quite a competitor. The remote is small and quite simple to use, I can't comment on the audio speakers in the tv itself as I have a surround sound home theatre system. The local dimming system is great and works wonderfully to make HDR content really pop. Yes I'm a little crazy for using a 55" tv as a monitor but it didn't take me long to adapt and playing games on this tv just simple looks amazing after some minor picture tweaking. If you are looking for the smart tv features you are getting a snappy UI and setup out of box was very quick after linking my google account. The remote has 6 quickkeys for streaming services Netflix, Prime, Disney etc. All in all very happy with the TV and as long as they come through and fix the ghosting issue with an OTA update I suspect this TV will be a true competitor among LG, Samsung and Sony.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hisense - 55" Class U8G Series Quantum 4K ULED Android TV The Hisense 55” TV is a standard Android TV. It uses the same interface that most all Android TV’s use so it should be very easy to understand for Android TV users. As soon as it was started up it requested to do a software update. This is completely normal for all new TV’s as they all ship with the test software and then update once they are sold and installed. The remote has dedicated buttons for the most used streaming services. It uses the normal Android TV Google Play store to add more channels. The picture quality is superb. Bright and clear, with a viewable angle that is better than TV’s at twice this price range. Standard HD looks great and when given a 4K input its even sharper. I had to switch back to the standard HD picture because the 4K was just a little to sharp for my eyes. If used in a larger room where you can set back a little further the 4K setting would be perfect. Unfortunately, my living room setup is a little to shallow for this. I’m looking forward to new furniture so maybe we can rearrange the room to better suit the TV. The TV has a 400mm x 300mm VESA mounting option but also comes with feet that are better located for normal furniture. They are larger and closer together than other TVs of this size. It has 2 HDMI 4K@60Hz inputs as well as 2 HDMI 4K@120 Hz inputs. In the menu section there is a FreeSync setting. I did not plug this into a computer with the correct AMD video output to test the FreeSync since I am using it only as a TV. There is also 1 USB 1 input and 1 USB 2 input. It has a LAN connection but works well from the wireless connection. There is a Serial connection for home automation control, again I did not use this as I currently do not use that setup. And of course, it has a Digital audio and headphone outputs. The A/V input is done with an adapter that is included. The TV has a built in Mic that can be used with the Google assistant. This Mic has a physical ON/OFF switch if your worried about being listened to. In the setting menu there is also an Alexa setting. I did not test this, again because I don’t use either voice assistants. There is an Enhanced viewing option, but it can not be turned on without agreeing to Data collection by Hisense, and I’m sure Google. This might go away if enough people complain about paying for something they can’t use unless they agree to being tracked. If your concerned about your privacy, then you will not get the enhanced viewing options. For me this is a non-issue because the TV is going to be used as just a monitor on my home theater system and will have no functions other than displaying the picture. The remote is clean and easy to use but the center command area has no detents or anything to let you know what button your thumb is on. This little omission caused a lot of incorrect inputs because the tactile feel of the arrows and center ok button are the same. Not really a big deal if you don’t intend to use the included remote. The TV has a hefty weight of just under 40 Lbs. The sound quality from the speakers is very good. I heard no rattle or distortion at above normal listening levels. Overall, the picture quality of this TV make it a stand out from the rest.

The motion (soap opera affect) is uncontrollable. So I got this tv for my bedroom because I heard raving reviewes, but after having an oled (A90j) for a few months, not even in the same ballpark. Went with the LGCX for the bedroom instead.

Stopped working after two months

It keep turning off and on. I should of spent the extra money and went with a quality brand like Sony. Never again. Please HIsense no copy and paste response. I see that enough on other reviews.

Worst purchase of my life

I bought this 2 weeks ago, and it is already defective. It turns itself off and back on by itself, and I only now found out this is a common problem. Also constantly has static problems in the audio.

Good Tv for the Price

At this price, it would be possible to get lower quality name brand tvs but then all you are doing is paying for the name. I purchased this tv to replace an older Hisense (H9F) that was in my bedroom. My old tv had a nice picture but seemed to suffer from being slow; in terms of signal response when scrolling menus or while streaming content. That was the main reason that I decided to upgrade to this tv. The new Hisense U8G has the same great picture quality out of the box. The darks are uniform with little light bleed through in the corners as the previous tv had and makes watching tv whether light or dark enjoyable. The picture is so good that I removed it from the bedroom and put it in the living room. The sound is as one expects from a tv. It is fairly good but like most tvs it is better paired with a sound bar. The U8G is loaded with options. First, it is fairly light, I removed and set the tv up by myself. Secondly, as an android tv you have access to a large library of apps. Of particular interest to me was Crunchy Roll which I can not get on my other Samsung tv. This tv also has adaptive refresh rate. This is typically employed in video games where lag can kill. I have not honestly utilized that as I do not play games on line. My Xbox games did look good on it. All in all, I am happy with the purchase but wish the price would have been a bit better; if you can find it on sale I would say pull the trigger and go for it!

HEADACHE

There’s always something i wish the U8G would do better. I was never satisfied with this TV. Returned it. Has potential but Hisense is not running with it. They dropped the ball with this TV. Definitely not worth it. I’d recommend X90J or Vizio OLED 2020 instead.

Great TV!

It has a great crisp image and a ton of settings that can be adjusted for your own personal preference. The onboard applications are very easy to use and well laid out. I have this TV in a very sunny room, and the antiglare screen is awesome and the TV can get very bright to combat any glares. The sound quality is actually very good as well for a flat screen. I am very happy with this purchase.

I was upgraded to the newer model so let’s see if that is a vast improvement in quality than the g series . As far as brightness and colors this tv is amazing but there are some software bugs and the motherboard goes out pretty quickly in this model yr

Hisense has stepped up their Game, Go for it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this fir a gift fir Christmas fir my son so a later review to come but I purchased from a suggestion on you tube Quantum who is a professional calibrater . I have the Hisense H9F 65” and he was spot on on that TV , so from his recommendation Iit was a no brainer to buy this U8G which is the second best TV to the LG C1 for 2021 . Sony and Samsung have very tough competition these days .
