This TV is unbelievable for the price. Bought it for my aunt as her old TV died and she needed a new one. The best LCD TV you can buy. Only the Q90 series beats it and it barely does. You won't get Dolby Vision on a Samsung though. The picture looks exceptional, she has this in a living room with a lot of light and the picture is very bright and crisp. Get a soundbar though as TV sound, while serviceable is still TV sound.

Samsung fan boy BUT this Hisense U8G is awesome

I’m a Samsung fan boy but, I have to confess that this Hisense U8G is an excellent television at a great price point. The picture is amazing and it does well both in well lit rooms as well as a darker rooms. I purchased both the 55 and the 65 inch U8G model. The setup was easy and….did I mention the picture is AMAZING. I’ve watched content on. Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and Apple TV….I was simply amazed at the picture quality. While watching ‘Foundation’ on AppleTV I was blown away by the images. I watched ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ and once again blown away by the picture quality. The sound quality is great from the built-in speakers. There is also a audio setting for wall mount and stand setups. I have my 55 inch wall mounted and my 65 inch on a stand. However, I do have an external surround sound system that I use with the 65 inch but I typically only use this for movies or gaming. Otherwise I roll with the built-in speakers which are more than adequate. The tv also has a switch to turn off the microphone so its not always responding to what you say. I personally think this switch is a plus. The remote is backlit which is a plus. The list of pro with this one is long. Do your research and decide for yourself but for a mix use (Movies, Sports, Gaming) television you can not go wrong with the Hisense U8G.

It’s a great TV for gaming even it has some issues about the ghosting when you playing 60fps on 2.1 hdmi. But it can be fix when you change back to 2.0 hdmi, and no issues for 120fps using 2.1 hdmi. And the picture is awesome, the contrast great. Will recommend to anyone want a lower price on all features VT. It worth it.

The TV packaging to minimize damage during shipping was excellent, so my set arrived in great condition. I love the look of the stands. The TV was easy to setup and the colors on screen look beautiful. The speakers produce great sound, so I won’t need a sound bar, which is a definite plus. This is my first Hisense TV and I am very impressed with the brand. I love my new TV!

Fantastic TV. No ghosting during high-movement scenes, blacks are deep, and out-of-the-box color gamut is great. Nearly no calibration was needed. The built-in smart TV OS is great too! Very smooth, easy to use, and intuitive. I've owned OLED TVs before and decided to downgrade as I couldn't justify the cost, and this TV has exceeded all expectations. Even the built-in speakers are great.

Terrific value for the price as long as your seating position is on center. It is an acceptable substitute for more expensive OLEDs or Mini-LED TVs if you are on a budget. It is just as good as those products for gaming, and 95% as good for movies and TV shows but at 2/3 the price. Excellent qualities for: Brightness, Color accuracy, Screen Uniformity for whites, colors and blacks, Contrast ratio, Motion handling, Video Inputs, Shadow details, Local dimming, Gaming, HDR support for both Dolby Vison and HDR10+, Dolby Atmos sound, Bright rooms. Not as good for: Wide viewing angles, Slightly more blooming and banding in low level blacks, grays and colors compared to OLEDs. You will be happy with this TV and your wallet will thank you.

This is a great TV for the price. Great size, great features and a beautiful screen at this price point. However, the smart features, which run on Android TV, aren't the best. For the most part, the smart features work fine but apps often crash and sometimes the TV has trouble switching between signals. Overall, a great 4K TV for the money.

Get the TCL 6 Series instead

Now there are a lot of people out there on youtube saying this is the best bang for your buck TV and I could not disagree more. There is a 10x better option out there with the TCL 6 series that is a miniLED option and has WAYYYYY better contrast in comparison with this TV. Both give you the 120hz screens but miniLED will always win in my opinion vs any LCD options. That being said this is not a terrible TV, it has good brightness and performs well in a bright room, but once you see miniLED or OLED it is hard to go back.

One hell of a tv. Best bang for you buck in 2021 and packs picture quality way outside of it's class. Looks like an oled as far as I'm concerned. Only negative is the motion shadow blue while gaming unfortunately. Hoping for a fix soon.

Got this TV mainly to play with my Xbox series X. And for the price It is awesome! Had to do some color adjusting and so far I haven't had the ghosting issues others have talked about on my TV and I am using the 2.1 120hz HDMI port.

Fantastic TV. I was hesitant to get a Hisense but gaming reviews were great on this set. I wanted HDMI 2.1, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and good local dimming….got it all! Great with my Xbox Series X running @120Hz 4K. Great pic, easy set up and Google built into. The set also has a nice frame, backing materials and legs.

Enjoying immensely for 5+ mths! Excellent TV, Gorgeous Screen with True colors; adjustable from extraordinary Bright eye-popping clarity to eco-friendly Bright for normal viewing. Researched extensively before purchase - mostly balancing quality and value - with reasonable setup as per numerous reviews... Also knew details of return policy and purchased extended warranty and coverage 5 yrs. Quiet unnecessary but for Fun - I had success in attaching and running Separately (via Tv hdmi ports) the 2020 Google Dongle+Remote for YoutubeTV+PremYoutube and separate FireTv Cube for Prime Video+Subs. To simplify, I also used Ethernet for Cube and wifi for Dongle. Eventually, I'll probably add YouTubeTv+ account to actual Android Tv, with Cube separate, and use Dongle for travel. Or just plugin, add new or old google acct, add or remove streaming apps and sign-in; adjust few preferences (Brightness, Sound, or pair BT earbuds and/or sound bar); and Enjoy!

Have used my new 55" Hisense for about a week. It was easy to set-up and get started. The factory settings all seem to be fine for me. I'm using it in my bedroom primarily at night without any lights on. I was surprised that Roku didn't come pre-installed. Sound, brightness, picture quality are all good.

This tv is outstanding! Bright beautiful colors, fast interface, Dolby atmos and vision are fantastic and the internal tv speakers are surprisingly loud with the proper tweaking. HDMI 2.1 makes a smooth difference and a great addition to my Xbox Series S. For anyone on a budget, this is the tv to get.

The picture is beautiful once you get all the settings right. Honestly the only issues ive encountered is that navigation can get buggy and ive been forced to home a few times. I had to clear the cache. Pretty minimal issues for a budget friendly TV of this tier.

We bought this TV 26 months ago. Actually, we bought one before this one and it had a problem within a few days with lines running across it. We returned that one and received another. This one has always had a resetting issue, but it was not very frequent at first. You might be steaming a show and it kicks you out to the main screen. It didn't matter if you were in Hulu, Paramount+ or Netflix. This problem has steadily increased in frequency over the two years. I have followed all of the advice out there for solving this issue...no luck there. Lets' say you pick Amazon Prime. You start watching your show and five minutes later the TV boots you out and takes you back to the home screen. When I unplug it from power for 30 seconds and then plug it back in again, it works for a bit. But then it starts rebooting again. We even reset the TV yesterday and then unplugged it from the surge protector and plugged it directly into the wall outlet. The resetting thing may happen three or four times in an hour, or you may get lucky and it doesn't happen for the first hour...but then it rears its ugly head. Now, it is getting stuck in a loop resetting. It sometimes resets ever five seconds. You don't even have time to select anything. The only thing that solves it is completely powering off the TV by unplugging it. This is obviously a motherboard issue or something serious like that. Do not buy this television from Hisense. This was a waste of $899.00. I was wary about buying a brand I had never heard of before, and now I know why. It is really too bad, as we enjoyed the TV when it worked properly, but it isn't worth the money if it only lasts for two trouble-filled years.
