You cannot miss with this Hisense U8K. This set gives you so much punch for the dollar that it's insane. Micro-Led, incredible brightness and great sound combine to deliver what the bigger brands would charge you double for. Hisense doesn't have the pedigree of a Samsung or LG, but 15 years ago those brands were viewed the same way. Hisense is an emerging brand and they have the big brands squarely in their sights. I absolutely recommend this set to anyone who's looking for great value.

This TV far exceeded my expectations! I had read reviews on the U6, U7 and U8 models but wanted to see it for myself. After viewing the sets in store, I purchased the U8 because it had deeper blacks and crisper edges on the objects on screen. The higher refresh rate has brought new life to my Xbox Series X and the integration with Apple HomeKit was a very welcome surprise!

After a few weeks of doing TV reviews I decided to go with the Hisense U8K or the TCL M8. I knew I wanted to try mini-led and wasn't willing to pay the premium price for a SONY at the time. Well after stopping at my local Best Buy I searched and searched for either one of the TV's, so I finally asked an associate and he had one U8K in back in a 65" size so I said load er up. Although I really wanted an 85" I figured I'd try this 65" out first since I didn't want to wait a week longer. Wowza. Here I am over three months later and this TV still amazes me with it's Dark Blacks, Super Bright colors, and blinding NIT's. I have my AppleTV set up for Dolby Vision so most of my content displays in that and I'll switch it to HDR 10+ for some other programs and I'm super satisfied with the picture I do watch a lot of sports some of the uniforms with red and orange really pop almost over saturated but seem way more accurate than my old Samsung 4K tv. Motion blur with baseballs and footballs is still there and may push me in time to go with Sony's processing power but in a coup[le of years I believe Hisense processing will be equal to SONY.

I bought this on a Black Friday sale having previously owned a Hisense U6 series and being very satisfied. As the price of OLED's has been coming down I was thinking of upgrading to one, but the reviews and price on this Hisense model were stellar. I was not disappointed. The picture is sharp and crisp to a degree that I doubt I would notice much difference spending far more. I actually went back to Best Buy to see I could see a difference between the OLEDs on display and what I was seeing at home but only the top LG model struck me as possibly better. Colors are accurate and the picture is more than bright enough even though my living room has numerous windows. My sound system is of audiophile quality (I listen to a lot of classical music) with the tv hooked in, but the quality of the TV's own speakers are such that I have been caught off-guard thinking my sound system was on when only the tv was. The only thing I wish was different was the operating software: my previous Hisense was Roku and I prefer that to Google. But I am more than happy to put up with this minor inconvenience given the great performance of this tv.

The Hisense has an excellent picture. I’ve been watching 4k and 8k content on YouTube and it is breathtaking. Real dark where it should be and crisp colors everywhere else. Lots of features as well. Best Buy also delivered for free. Very happy with this purchase.

Purchased this tv for my Den/game room. It was important to me to have a tv that was capable of pulling double duty for daytime tv watching in a bright room, as well as nightime gaming and movie watching. The Hisense UK8 fits the bill. The tv has all the gaming features you need, vrr, auto low latency, game bar, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and HDR 10+ for movies. The mini led is great for lighting control and near oled level blacks. There are some instances of black crush while gaming, but turning on some HDR tone mapping will tupically brightness the scene. All in all, I'm very pleased with this purchase. Great price for the number of features and quality included.

Replaced a Hisense U4 with this beauty. Wow! Thinner screen, faster loading at a great price. The TV is very bright, with a superfast refresh rate. The speakers are better than most, but consider a soundbar just to match the awesome picture. The previous TV was also a Google TV, but this is vastly better than the older model.

Works very well for gaming. Has a ton of compatible features with my Xbox Series X. True 144hz. Smooth yet precise action in games and movies. Built in subwoofer and Dolby Atmos. Great color saturation along with deep blacks. Most importantly it came with a reasonable price tag.

I upraded From the Sony 900f and this Hisense has blowm the sony 900f out of the water wity h Dolby Vision alone. The picture quality of this tv for $1,100 dollars after tax is absolutely highway robbery. You do need to adjust the settings a tad bit, i used RTNGS website White Balance, 2 point and 20 point settimgs. From there i adjusted the basic settings by personal choice.

The 240Hz and the 144Hz options all work with my nvidia GPU now and it's great. Black levels look amazing on this TV and it sits next to an OLED so that is saying something. The colors look noticeably better than my previous Samsung Q80T and the U8K is significantly brighter.

I've had this set for a couple of weeks now and after playing with the setting for a while, I have to say I'm very pleased with it. If you have a Bright room this TV is plenty bright enough. I can't speak to the sound since I use a surround sound system. But I would imagine it is very good given the speaker arrangement. I can't honestly imagine needing a brighter TV than this one. Something to keep in mind too although this doesn't get as bright as the TCL (its main competition) it does a great job at making lower-quality TV signals look good. I have no regrets buying this. I used FOMO's settings on YouTube to set mine up. However, for my personal taste, I turned the brightness down a lot. I can't stress enough how happy I am with the picture quality of this set.

Just replaced my 2014 65" 1080 set with this U8K. SPECTACULAR PICTURE! Colors POP, Contrast is outstanding, with deep-inky blacks, ideally super bright since it's in a high daylight living room. TV shows and Billy Joel TV concert looked and sounded amazing. For anyone without a soundbar, the 50W 2.1.2 Dolby Atmos built-in sound with sub has surprising punch and clear volume. Lives up to all the great reviews it has gotten. FUN to see the incredible images it displays when playing native 4K HDR/Dolby vision Wildlife & Travel videos on YouTube!

So I went back and forth with this and the TCL QM8 and this win it for me mainly because of how it handles lower bitrate streams and with motion. This TV is bright, looks amazing, sounds amazing, and is just great. I don't use the Google TV built in, rather I run a Nvidia shield and it looks amazing too. The remote is Bluetooth, so it works great in all situations, just be aware of that if you're thinking about going universal. It seems to also accept ir, but ymmv. If you're looking for a new TV, and don't want to go OLED, but still want a great unit for 4k and gaming, get this!!!

This TV is great. The picture is excellent, the blacks and dark details are amazing (as long as you have the dark detail function on) and I love that it runs 144hz for my gaming! For the price, you really can't get better.

I was a little kid again plugging this in and noticing the difference between this and my LG black friday special TV. Extra bright, but the darks don't suffer for it too much, maybe the greys a bit. 120hz was a must have, but I think I'm more impressed by Dolby vision and the exceptional color pops I'm getting. Still not entirely perfect with fast pace motion but compared to my previous, I'm pleased. I do feel like I got an exceptional TV at a low price, and so long as we don't break down soon, that opinion will probably last.

This has been an all-around great TV for me these last several weeks. This was an upgrade from an old Vizio P series TV (non-Quantum) and I've really enjoyed checking out Netflix and other streaming content in 4K Dolby Vision, as well as a bunch of 4K movies from disc. The sound is also surprisingly good. I mean, I'm not going to say it's as good as a quality soundbar system or good speakers paired with a receiver, but let's just say that if you don't already have one of those and your room isn't very large, you might question the need for either, especially if you're short on cash. Alas, one day out of nowhere I spotted a big brown area on the upper left edge of the screen, which was very visible from several feet away. I researched to find if there was any way to get rid of this, what's commonly referred to as "dirty screen effect" (DSE), and common thought, even by so-called online experts, was that there was probably nothing to be done about it, and that I should return the TV. So I started the return process with Best Buy (and even their CSR agreed that the screen was probably a lost cause) and I "upgraded" to a higher priced Samsung OLED to replace it, since I'd originally been torn between the Hisense and this Samsung model. Less than 2 hours after all that took place, some random guy on a forum suggested I try unplugging the TV for a few minutes and restarting. Which I did - and the big brown spot was magically gone! I was very tempted to call Best Buy again and cancel the new order and keep the Hisense, but I didn't want to be a pain in the butt and get on their too-many-returns naughty list (I'm told BB contracts with some 3rd party company that reports on your return habits, and not just at BB), so I decided to just let things play out as is. They will be taking my Hisense tomorrow and delivering the Samsung, but I'm a little worried about whether I made a wise choice. I'm sure the OLED will be great, but no Dolby Vision, no DTS support, etc. I'm worried I'll miss the Hisense! Fingers crossed.
