Great set - vibrant colors, HIGH brightness, and nearly-OLED blacks. Good enough sound that you can probably get away without a soundbar if you're in a moderate sized room and the TV is on the wall or has the wall behind it. Only criticisms are 1) the menus are not always intuitive, and 2) the picture can get a little bit muddy/squashed in action scenes with lots of grey and brown colors. Otherwise the color and contrast is very good. The Google OS gets a lot of flack from reviews, but I don't know why. It's responsive and intuitive, and allows me to cast from my PC (essentially replacing a Chromecast), which is great for sports and party games.

I was amazed at how wonderful the pictures on this TV. I was skeptical at first since it was inexpensive but, to my surprise it was good as it was advertised and reviewed by experts. Also the sound quality is excellent. I bought a sound bar with it but, i have returned it since it was not needed in the space i put this TV in(if you don’t have a huge room, try the TV first then get the sound bar to see if it makes difference) I suggest to see it for yourself on display. At the time I purchased this TV, none was on display(it was so new and selling out fast)so I have bought it on faith and it was well worth it!!!!

This tv looks so much nicer and is a lot more responsive than my Bravia x900e. The Bravia sounded terrible without a soundbar, this sounds good without one. PS5 and Series X look great and even for the Nintendo Switch, colors pop.

I purchased this based on youtube reviews that heralded the U8H series as the next best thing to a LG OLED TV. I already own a 55" LG OLED that I purchased less than 5 years ago, and was heartbroken when it showed signs of irreversible burn-in. I absolutely love the picture that we were able to get with this TV and reluctantly decided to replace it with a 65" U8H. I played with the picture settings a lot, taking cues from online calibration suggestions, trying to get what I felt was the best possible picture. As a last step, I set up the LG next to it and compared the two. I was shocked at how similar the two pictures were. I performed a few more tweaks and have to say that I could not tell the difference when finished. The black levels on the U8H truly rivaled the LG. I have absolutely no regrets in choosing the U8H to replace the OLED. I feel like I lost nothing as far as picture quality. I haven't gone beyond setting up a great picture at this point. I feel that there may be work to do with more advanced settings such as noise reduction, motion, etc. I can't say that I've run into problems with any of these settings, but I want to make sure that they are optimized, again, leveraging online calibration recommendations.

Ive had over 20 different televisions in the last 12 years, from lcd, plasma, oled qled, neo qled. Ive set them up with the same programming, in the same conditions, with as close to the same settings as possible. I like a bright picture, great contrast, accurate colors. For my eyes and taste, the U8h does more of these things better than any tv at any cost, than anything ive hung on my wall to date, and ive hung them all! I know its sheik to watch tv in a dark room, with a warm brown-red picture, and if thats youre thing, spend 3-4 k. For 80 percent of what the rest of us watch, it would be hard to do better.

This tv is great. The picture looks amazing. With this tv on the market there is no need to spend more money to get one of the big brand tv's. Its the best value for a 65" tv. Im glade we went with the Hisense brand.

I've only had this TV for a few weeks, but so far, I am very impressed. I went with the 65" as an upgrade from a smaller HD TV that was almost 15 years old. So, this was a big step up. It was easy to set up and the picture quality is amazing! Even right out of the box, the colors and clarity looked stunning, but I also ended up playing around with some of the settings to get it dialed in based on my own personal preferences. Everything was easy to adjust and didn't take long before I had everything where I wanted it. If you change nothing else, just be sure before you watch any TV shows or movies to turn off all motion settings or it will have an obvious soap opera effect. The brightness is amazing! You will never have to worry about the picture being too dim (provided you change the picture mode from "energy saving" and toggle off the "automatic light sensor". Those two settings make everything too dim) to the point where I have to turn down the brightness at times because it almost gets too bright depending on the level of light in the room, but for me that's a good thing. I'd rather have plenty of brightness and have to dial it back at times, than to have it turned all the way up and still have a dim picture. The OS works great and I've had no real issues or complaints with it so far. The TV is excellent for streaming content and playing Blu-rays and DVDs. 4K and regular HD content looks wonderful and even SD looks great. Over-the-air broadcast TV doesn't exactly look spectacular, but that's because it's over-the-air broadcast TV and isn't ever going to look amazing no matter what TV you have. I haven't done any kind of gaming on it yet, so I can't vouch for that, but what little sports I've watched on it looks really good, even over broadcast signals. The sound quality on this TV is one of the best I've ever heard from a TV, especially with the built-in subwoofer. Of course, it's still TV speakers so I do use a soundbar, but this TV is the closest any flat screen TV speakers I've heard, have come to not needing a soundbar. If I had to complain about something, the biggest issue so far has been streaming 4k content through Vudu. For some reason, even with the motion settings off, 4K content still has a horrible soap opera effect that makes movies unwatchable, and I have yet to figure out how to fix it. All other sources have been fine so far, it's just Vudu and only with 4K, regular HD and SD look fine. Not sure what the problem is, but it is annoying that I can't watch my UHD library through Vudu. Otherwise, everything looks and works as it should and it's been a great upgrade for me and my family. We're very happy we chose the Hisense U8H. It has all the quality we were looking for but also within our price range.

deep blacks that make you question if the screen is still on and bright hdr lighting that can fry your eyes. only downside is the color banding - hopefully something that can be fixed in a software update.

The TV is very good on color and brightness, and google tv platform allows u to install not only app from google store but also unknown source, no need to get any tv box. The sound is actually good, better than most of the TV own speaker.

Just buy this tv! The positive reviews are all true and accurate. Sure in mass produced electronics there will always be some bad units that make it out of the factory but that’s why you pick this up at Best Buy with their excellent customer service. Works best with an Apple TV 4K to do all the heavy lifting of 1080p upconverting and streaming of data intensive 4k video. Dolby Vision IQ takes care of all the video calibration. Dolby Atmos audio sounds amazing. Setup took just minutes and make sure to download the system update to get the latest and greatest features. Just unbox, pick a spot, plug it in and enjoy!

Great TV! I tried the TCL R655, but Roku menu options were too limiting, picture too cool (blueish whites) and i still needed a Google Crome dongle to fully integrate with my google devices. The U8H is fantastically bright, has deep almost OLED level blacks and has google built right in. I will say, the upscaling for older formatted shows and movies .. as well as SD isn't quite there, but hopefully an update will adress that.

This TV is Excellent. The Only Problem is the Remote Control is Very Specific for Google TV and is Cheaply Made, Don't Drop it, it will Fall Apart. Finding a Replacement that is Better Quality will be a problem. Also there's No Phone App supporting a Remote option that works. Setting the Sound has a Learning Curve, but it sounds great once you figure it out. This Is Much Better TV than Other Brands because it is not Dependent on Smart Features, that Become obsolete when the Brand Specific Operating System no Longer provides useful Updates.

Default settings for me had a low sharpness level and I almost returned it because it looked *terrible*. However, simply bringing the sharpness up brought it to the expected visual experience. Very bright TV with great clarity and mediocre speakers. Very easy to use interface. As someone who is used to a 77" OLED, the difference in color and contrast was absolutely noticeable. When we started using the OLED, I was honestly just spellbound by its beautify and depth of colors. However, it was literally three times the cost. I just wanted to mention it to anyone that is debating between the OLED vs QLED, coming from an average consumer like me, the OLED is a clearly superior TV.

I'll be honest, I had reservations about going with this TV at first. I had a Hisense H9G before this and while the picture was amazing, it had latent software bugs that could sometimes ruin the streaming experience. Also, there was a distinct lack of gaming features which prevented me from upgrading to a next gen console. With the Hisense U8H, I feel like those problems are gone and everything that was good about my H9G just got dialed up to 11. The contrast is insane (make sure to change picture settings as soon as you get it out of the box) and the colors just pop. Plus, while I still suggest you buy a soundbar for a TV this nice, the built-in speakers have a surprising amount of bass and clarity to them. Overall, I would say that the only real downside is the lack of wide viewing angles (which you come to expect from VA panels anyways). Oh and if you're going to hate on the brand, rather than the potential TV itself, I'll remind you that this punches HUNDREDS of dollars below its weight class. With that in mind, just add the 5-year warranty and your worries should be settled, all while still paying much less than you would buying a TV of similar picture quality from Samsung or Sony.

I love this TV. The contrast is excellent. The color depth is amazing. The sound is beyond incredible compared with other TVs. Movies with Dolby Atmos seem to have sound coming from everywhere even though I have yet to bring my home theater equipment here. It even has its own subwoofer inside. The processing speed is also way better than most TVs, which will be excellent for sports. The price was also what I was willing to spend on a TV. Having been a Samsung TV fan, that went out the window when our second Samsung in recent history stopped working.
