Wonderful for this price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Hisense, I have the last years model as well. Local dimming is much better, that was the only thing that bothered me on last years model. With this improvement, considering the price, this is the best option out there.

Absurd level of value
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had a Hisense TV in one of our bedrooms now for a few years, and it has been a great experience. I think Hisense needs some recognition for making good quality TVs in the recent past. The U8 line of Mini-LED QD smart TVs keep that momentum going. At this price point, it’s almost comical how strong of a performer this TV is. It has some upper market features, at a low-mid market price. I hate to use the word “value” because its sometimes viewed in a negative connotation, and for years Hisense has been a value brand. However, in this case its value in the highest regard. You are not getting a value TV. You are getting a technology backed, feature rich tv, at a great price. Remote: At this price point its hard to have big expectations for the remote. It has everything you expect with major streaming apps having quick keys. The remote features a backlight which is nice and feels good in the hand. No real complaints. Ports: Gamers listen up. This TV has 2 HDMI ports that support 4K 120hz. While they don’t explicitly show HDMI 2.1, they likely are due to the 4K 120Hz support. That means your next generation consoles will be used to their potential with this TV. This is especially true with VRR being supported. There is also an HDMI eARC for connecting sound devices through the TV. While not necessarily a port feature, it is a connectivity feature, WIFI6E is supported which futureproofs you for WIFI technology. Speaking of gaming, I don’t know the exact input lag number, but I can tell you its extremely low in game mode. Picture quality: The Hisense U8H uses a newer technology called MINI-LED. This is a step up from standard LED/LCD display technology that brings the black levels and color pop closer to OLED. However, while it’s not going to give you the inky blacks as an OLED, it will get very close. On the other hand, it will get significantly brighter than most OLED. All display technologies have pros and cons. This TV looks fantastic in a bright room flexing its peak 1500 nits. HDR looks good and colors pop while still managing tricky shadows. When you combine near OLED black levels with bright powerful colors, you get some unreal levels of contrast. This TV has impressed me tremendously with its picture quality and it’s the main reason I say this is just an absurd value for what you are getting here. This feels like a leap in display technology without the leap in price passed to the consumer. Sound: Usually, I don’t really give much attention to the sound quality of TV’s nowadays because most manufactures expect the consumer to pair the TV with some sort of sound equipment. However, this TV has a subwoofer on the back of the TV which is unique. Its not a gimmick, this TV sounds way better than likely any TV in this price point. Once again, this Hisense is just punching so far above its weight class in another category. That’s really the story with this TV. I still recommend pairing it with a real sound system if you want real high end sound quality.

Impressive TV for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very impressed. Bought this to replace my 5 year old LG B7 OLED that had terrible burn in problems. So far I really like this TV. Set up was easy. I love the Google TV system and like not needing my Nvidia Shield TV box connected to the TV. I agree with the review that points out the ATSC 3.0 tuner. That was one of the important features to me since I live in an area with lots of channels broadcasting in the NextGen format. Can't comment much on the audio since I have the optical audio output connected to my HT receiver. Best Buy delivery and set up was very good, but not really worth $200.

Perfect for Big Bright Room
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought it for the living room. Room is pretty spacious with lots of natural light coming in. Great head on picture and very good angled side view (like 45 degrees). Contrast not phased by incoming sunlight.

Best MidRange, BANG FOR YOUR BUCK, non OLED TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought my 65 U8H December 21st. Calibrated for best picture. Using Apple TV 4k (2017 edition for all streaming). Better processor and upscaling engine than native hisense apps. Disabled all hisense apps, wifi, and functions after latest firmware update. This TV is a gem I replaced my 55 inch Sony X810C and also have a 55 inch Sony X900f This TV beats both my Sony sets. If you properly calibrate and use external streaming device, this TV can be the best bang for the buck TV HANDS DOWN! Best Contrast and Black levels I have seen in a TV! No Blooming. I DO NOT have issues with Motion using Apple TV 4k Set Match Framerate: OFF and Match Dynamic Range: ON on Apple TV 4k, Use 4k SDR setting. I mainly watch sports and dolby vision movies via ITunes movies and Disney plus on Apple TV 4k. Everything looks sharp and crisp. No stuttering. TRUST ME AND BUY AN EXTERNAL STREAMING DEVICE LIKE APPLE TV OR NVIDIA SHIELD TO GO WITH THIS TV. I DO NOT Game, so do not know how well VRR and gaming features are. I care about motion for sports, brightness, black levels, and color accuracy. This TV checked all those boxes using Apple TV 4K for upscaling. Use Youtube TV, Disney Plus, and Itunes Movies for Dolby Vision movies I have purchased. Dolby Vision Movies look amazing, crisp, vivid and super clear. Start with these settings IF using external device. DO NOT BUY A Hisense TV!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought the Hisense 65U8H a year and 4 months ago and it was a great TV until the picture went blue. It took three calls of going through the troubleshooting process then getting hung up on to finally get an incident filed for the 2 year warranty. Then you have to send pictures of the TV, which they are VERY picky about, and after numerous attempts they accepted the pictures and agreed to send out a technician. The technician wasn't able to fix the TV so we had to wait for Hisense to contact us for the next step which is to set up a new incident which gets sent to Tier 2 in order to send someone out to destroy our TV before they will refund our money. Not sure how long that will take but our TV has been broken now for three weeks and no resolution yet.

Great for Gaming, Terrible Audio Pass Through
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Picture for the Money and that is where is stops. Gaming 5 starts! However. My PS5 Beeps when changing Volumes, The EARC is and absolute mess right now. I cannot get the audio to be correct on my sound bar. They need to polish the software asap. I am trying to love this TV but the Audio and software issues are so bad i am debating sending back and spending a little more cash.
