Bricked TV after 2 years

Like many of the newer reviews, we just got hit with the dreaded “memory full” issue after 2 years of ownership and the TV is bricked. Apparently this is a very common issue and results from cheap onboard memory that Hisense puts in these TVs that easily corrupts, rendering the TV useless, unable to be factory reset and stuck in a non functional state. Shame on Hisense - will not buy another. My Samsung and Vizio are still going strong after 10 years, no reason why a TV should be non functional after 2. You get what you pay for.

Hisense junk?

Hisense 70" only lasted 4 years

TV shuts off before it loads - Tried everything, including Hard Reset back to manufacturer settings - still won't work. This is not a reliable TV - will not purchase Hisense again.

Worst. Purchase. Ever.

Awesome TV until it stopped working all of a sudden in May 2023 on my grandson's 2nd birthday party while playing an episode of SpongeBob. The red light at the bottom of the TV would flash 3 times when powering on. Called Hisense support, which in turn directed me to the manufacturer website for basic troubleshooting. Troubleshooting did not resolve issue. Attempted for days, it's a huge paper weight at this point.

OK TV, if it ever turned on....

Maddening. for two years. Could never rely on it. You shouldn't have to do 10 different tricks to get your tv to turn on. And I didn't have 20 minutes to burn every time I wanted to watch something. Never had a TV fail this bad. The feeling of freedom and release after finally throwing this thing in the dumpster was incredible. Stay farrrrrr away.

Buggy OS implementation, can be frustrating
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Really nice picture and sound, thin profile, the home screen is organized nicely, casting to the TV is a breeze as is mirroring my phone's screen. Cons: The TV is an Android implementation. Normally this would be a big plus for me. But this TV is buggy AF. We stream our TV rather than using cable, so we use apps from the play store. If an app is left open paused for too long then the TV becomes extremely slow or even completely unresponsive. The only way to get it back is to unplug it, and then back in. I know it's the TV because it doesn't matter what app is left up. Also occasionally the TV will just turn on in the middle of the night for no reason. I'll wake up to the screensaver running. I contacted HiSense and was told that maybe I should just do a factory reset. Did that and it's still doing the same thing. So now we have to make sure we reboot the TV 2 times a day.

Turned into a brick at exactly 3 years

Although, the color, brightness and volume next did impress me compared to other TVs. Now it is a paperweight and I absolutely regret buying it. I turn it on and it powers off within 15-30 seconds. Left unplugged for a day, no help, factory reset not help. And it looks like Best Buy's credit card doesn't offer extended purchase protection, so guess we know what I'm buying for Christmas.

AVOID ANDROID TVS THAT HAVE SOFTWARE ONLY RESET!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shortly after I upgrade my Android TV, it was having glitchy issues. So, like advised I perform a factory reset via the Android TV menu interface. It stated it was performing factory reset and turned off and it never rebooted. After hours I turned it back on to discover the firmware was stuck in between versions. Simply put it was totally messed up. Here is the issue: No hardware reset button. Holding power button, all of those tricks you see online DOES NOTHING. You are completely OUT OF LUCK. This is a complete failure of SOFTWARE and not HARDWARE. I also got the firmware from Hisense and went through the USB and so forth. No luck. So, at any point that you go to update your TV, out of warranty you are ROLLING THE DICE. This should be outlawed. Imagine companies intentionally bricking devices. Hisense took zero accountability as I was 1 month beyond the warranty period. I have now a 70" dead TV sitting in my bedroom for over a year I have been trying to get rid of. Yeah, I should have written this review earlier. It still irritates me so much Oh, it's too big to recycle with Best Buy. I am absolutely furious with Hisense and WILL NEVER buy another product of theirs.
