Software update caused TV to crash after 4 months!

Was working great until Jun 28, 2021. While watching TV, the screen said there was a software update. I could not continue watching without updating, so I agreed. Update downloaded, then screen went black. 45 minutes later, screen was still black with only the red LED light flashing. I called Hisense customer service and 30 minutes and 2 customer service reps later, the issue is not resolved. I am waiting for an email from Hisense customer service which allegedly will contain instructions on how I can repair the TV. Frustrated right now. The upside is that the TV was good when working. The downside is it lasted 4 months then crashed. To be continued,

It will go up loud then drop to barely audible. Same thing even using wifi so I know its not my channels. When you use the remote it interferes with the picture. The tv itself isn't too bad.

Stick to Brand Names

Then it dies completely after the year warranty. Called technician because Hisense tech said they can't help after the warranty, and was quoted $200 to $300 with no guarantee. Bought a power cord for $20 from the website they recommended (encompass) and it didn't work. So now I've almost $800 on this tv when I should have just stuck with my Samsung, LG, or Sony. Word of advice, you get what you pay for. I took a chance with a new company and it didn't work out. Invaluable lesson learned.

Very upset with the staff and the customer SERVICE

Dissatisfied with purchase

I chose this model for the price. I've had this tv less than a year. Last month the tv tried to do a software update. For some reason the update does not complete. Because of this process we are unable to use this tv. I've contacted Hisense several times. They keep sending me a link to upload to a usb thumbdrive, but this also has not worked. Their current solution is for them to send me the update on one of their usb thumbdrives. I should have bought the geek squad protection, but did not. I would not reccommend this product.

What did I expect from an obsolete TV?

Glitchy

The screen constantly freezes and frequently blacks out. We have to unplug it for extended periods everyday. There are extreme lag times when pressing an app button and if you click on an app from the Home Screen it freezes. It also frequently freezes in the middle of watching a show; it’s very annoying and the problem is worsening. I actually bought this, against my husband’s advice, because I had a Hisense tv in the past that was awesome. This, however, is garbage.

Spend a little more, get a lot better
