The Hisense 75" Class U6G Series Quantum ULED 4K UHD Smart Android TV is a high-quality television that offers impressive picture quality, smart features, and a sleek design. Here are some of the main features and benefits of this TV:
Picture Quality: The U6G Series features Quantum Dot technology, which delivers more accurate and vibrant colors, as well as Full Array Local Dimming (FALD) for deeper blacks and better contrast. It also supports HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision HDR formats, which provide a wider range of colors and brightness levels.
Smart Features: The TV runs on the Android TV operating system, which offers access to a wide range of apps and streaming services, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and more. It also features Google Assistant, which allows you to control the TV with your voice and access other smart home devices. I’ve noticed that it can glitch or buffer if you don’t return to main screen before turning the tv off.
Design: The U6G Series has a sleek and modern design, with slim bezels and a metal frame. It also comes with a stand that provides stable support, or you can mount it on the wall using a VESA-compatible mount or universal.
Overall, the Hisense 75" Class U6G Series Quantum ULED 4K UHD Smart Android TV is a great choice for anyone looking for a large, high-quality TV with smart features and a modern design. I recommend to anyone who’s looking for a great picture tv for a really good price.

The U6G 75” is a very well rounded TV. It replaces a 60”LG plasma. That excels in contrast, without brightness. The U6G has both . The controls for picture & motion are numerous .I tried “Quantum TV’s”settings. A good place to start. It’s amazing that it can get such a good picture. The “upscaling” was much better than I expected as most of my sources were only HD.BluRays look great. Reflections are apparent. No worse than the plasma , it also weighs 50 lbs less. Had a TCL546 “open box” that was very close in picture (brighter) but poor upscaling regular TV. U6G went on sale…it’s not a C1 OLED. But for most people it’s way better than expected..

I had a SONY Bravia X900F that completely died after about 2 years. I loved it, I thought the picture quality was amazing. It really was, in fact. RTINGS was the reason I bought that TV because they are insanely good at what they do, if anyone is to trust, it’s them. So when my SONY died and I was looking at their reviews for this year, to my SURPRISE I saw the Hisense U6G scored an 8.1/10.0 - For this I had to do a DOUBLE rake because the SONY I had scored 7.9/10. Did this really score higher than the SONY I thought was absolutely perfect? How could it get much better? I don’t know how, but this TV DOES have a better picture quality than that X900F. It is unbelievably crisp, colors are bright, vivid and accurate and everything just POPS when it’s 4K. Do yourself a favor, straight after setting this TV up, go to paramount, prime, Netflix and get yourself something truly in 4K and you will be amazed. My SONY amazed in 4K but this just takes it a step further somehow. The only complaint, because there is one is blooming. Blooming is when there is a mostly dark scene and one light, usually white object in the scene is surrounded by a haze, or actually, bleeds the white into the dark. Blooming is present on this TV, which not surprising at this segment. You can see pictures for details. It is pretty bad… however, is this going to effect content you’re watching? Most likely, NOT. You will very rarely have scenes that will even allow blooming to be present, so don’t worry about it. WiFi is also ridiculously slow on this… I can run a speed test on my phone and get 426 down and only get 5.6 on the TV, this causes streaming apps to not function properly on the main system, but who cares - get a Roku, FireTV, GoogleTV, etc and you won’t even care about the onboard Wi-Fi speed.
Overall; I would give this TV a solid 9/10. I think only a true LG OLED could produce a better picture than this. Hisense has come up MAJORLY in the TV business, and you truly get an amazing bang for your buck with this TV without sacrificing picture quality.
For copyright purposes I do not own the rights to any of the pictures posted, the content is Kacey Musgraves - Star Crossed the Film on Paramount+ … which might I add honestly looks like Kacey is in my living room in person lolol.

The picture is great for the price. Sound is much better than the others we tried in this price range. I am very happy with the tv but I am concerned about the future. The tv has glitched and got stuck a few times. Turned it off gave it a minute and came back on fine. But we also have got a low on memory warning too. We don't have that many apps on the tv so I am concerned that as things update we are going to be deleting all the apps and going back to using a separate streaming device. Pictures are on a sunny day in a very bright room we had tried many tvs that don't do well with this and this one is still very vibrant and the glare from the windows is very minimal. The qled ( q70 I think) that we tried at 2x the price was unwatchable under the same condition.

Simply amazing!! I was actually looking to purchase a new 75” television last year but the costs for features just seemed not worth it. I told myself 2021 was going to be the year I purchased either a Samsung or Sony, however when I saw that Hisense came out with the U6 Quantom Dot Color, full array tv with local dimming, and Dolby Vision for $1099.99 how could I not buy it. Most newer televisions with optional full array local dimming are hundreds if not maybe a thousand more dollars. Since Best Buy has one of the best customer service and return periods in the business, I bought it. Man was I glad I did! The Android operation is quick and very smooth ( I’m used to Tizen on my 75” Q70R). After a few tweaks to the settings, this television POPS! Colors are vibrant and blacks deep. I have the Picture Setting at Vivid, Local Dimming set to High (automatic light sensor to off), and Color level to 60. I love the picture when sitting in front of it but the colors do become a little less vibrant when viewing at an angle (in no way a dealbreaker). This isn’t uncommon on a lot of brands unless you pay a premium price. The sound from the tv is good and can get very loud. In closing, I would definitely recommend this television especially at this price with the features it packs.

No longer the budget manufacturer that once adorned Black Friday specials at discount retailers, Hisense has become a formidable TV brand with ever-improving picture quality to begin rivaling premium manufacturers at much lower cost. Hisense’s 2021 U6G line advertises a bevy of features and technologies usually reserved for higher-priced sets, promising better picture quality on less costly displays. These sets incorporate their Quantum Dot and ULED technologies to deliver a 4K, HDR display at an eminently affordable price point for the 75-inch class. Though not their highest-end offering, the Hisense 75U6G delivers excellent color and clarity that fits perfectly in any use case for a large TV, whether that’s your game room, a conference room at a small business, or indeed, even the centerpiece of your living room.
- Unboxing and Setup
Make no mistake - this is a large and unwieldy TV, positively dwarfing the 55-inch Hisense H8F it replaced as shown in the attached picture. You will absolutely need an assistant to help complete assembly, so plan accordingly.
The U6G is packaged reasonably well-protected and should endure all but the roughest handling by freight and parcel carriers. A set of plastic clips secure the packaging around the TV and release easily to allow the cardboard box to lift up and over the TV (watch for the ceiling). The included feet attach easily to their indents on the bottom of the TV and are keyed to avoid swapping legs inadvertently. Alternatively, VESA mounts spaced 400mm x 200mm on the rear of the TV can be used for wall-mounting.
On first power-on, Android TV setup begins and is as straightforward as setting up any Android cell phone or tablet. Existing Android users can use Google Home to accelerate setup, sharing local network settings, apps and preferences, and related data stored on a Google account. Within moments I was presented with the Android TV home screen as updates and apps were installed in the background. Performance was sluggish while installing and I had the YouTube app crash twice while this was ongoing, but once everything was updated the interface became much more responsive and my apps were stable from there on.
- Connectivity & Control
All four HDMI ports on the TV are HDMI 2.0a compatible, so all will accept a 4K HDR signal at 60Hz, and the primary HDMI port supports ARC for controlling a compatible sound system using the TV’s volume control. A composite port handles legacy connections (though I would have loved to see component support), and a TV tuner with coaxial input allows for over-the-air broadcasts without the need for a separate breakout box. Two USB ports supply 0.5a power each, perfect for powering an antenna amplifier directly from the TV or connecting an external storage device. The TV’s audio output is mirrored through an optical port that supports Dolby Digital (bitstream) and Dolby DTS. All told, connectivity is quite good, and indeed my U6G functions as the de facto receiver for my home theater.
For internet and wireless connectivity, an ethernet jack (I believe Gigabit) complements 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi, and bluetooth 4.0 is supported for pairing wireless headphones or the voice-enabled remote. A single power button situated directly below and behind the center of the screen allows for input switching and power options without the need for the remote.
- Picture & Sound Quality
At a $1,049 MSRP for a 75 inch TV, Hisense’s U6G sits midrange in the large TV segment and uses a VA-type panel (as opposed to IPS) to keep cost down. This also means that peak brightness doesn’t reach the true HDR level of 1,000 nits, as the unit’s only rated for 600. While this means high-intensity light sources appear a little muted on such scenes, HDR sources still present a distinctly deeper, more vibrant color palette.
Hisense’s “Quantum Dot” technology sits front and center on the U6 range. This panel technology debuted in their 2020 TV range and, as I understand, represents a different way to reproduce color through an LED panel, using a crystalline film rather than a traditional RGB filter to present light at a more precise nanometer wavelength per-pixel. Hisense claims this technology allows for over one billion colors to be reproduced (from sources presenting 10-bit color detail) with precision at a significantly lower cost than OLED panels.
Simply put, while the U6G may not get as bright as other TVs (even their 2019 H8F I reviewed previously has a higher peak brightness), color reproduction and image clarity are absolutely stunning out-of-the-box using any of the included image presets. Regardless whether the source is HDR or not, I was consistently amazed by the color depth on display even on the “Standard” preset. Absolutely no color banding nor bleed is present, allowing for an incredible level of detail to come through on 4K sources. While the peak brightness of the display, again, doesn’t allow for light sources to be particularly vibrant, there’s little to complain about otherwise. The TV performs admirably in a well-lit room to the point that I still reduced the backlight for non-HDR sources. Local dimming zones (I believe there are 60 on this model) help further drive perceived contrast and color depth, and the dimming is much improved from Hisense’s 2019 range. There’s much less glow overall as it’s only noticeable on almost completely black backgrounds.
As to be expected with a VA-type panel, motion blur is present but minimal. I noticed little issue with fast-paced content and games, and although the panel only refreshes at the typical 60Hz, it’s one of the better 60Hz displays I’ve used. In Game Mode, input lag is low enough that competitive gaming is viable for all but the most frantic, twitch & reflex-dependent titles. I was also especially impressed by how well the screen functions as a computer monitor - although there are some TrueType ghosting issues due to the subpixel arrangement (the panel appears to be B-G-R, when computers expect R-G-B), these are unnoticeable at 4K resolution and a viewing distance greater than a couple feet.
Built-in speakers are a surprising inclusion at this size and price class, as most large TV owners will have a separate HiFi system or premium soundbar to accompany. However, the U6G’s built-in speakers are plenty serviceable and get pretty loud, albeit with some distortion coming on around half volume. They’ll do the job in more commercial environments for news, home improvement shows, or digital signage & presentations, but don’t expect much more. With little bass and tinny highs, an external sound system is highly recommended for home viewing.
- Android TV
Although Android TV is dated and on the precipice of replacement with the more recent Google TV, its inclusion here is plenty functional, though behind with security patches at the time of review (Android TV 9.0 with the February 2021 security rollup is the latest available for this set, as of November 9, 2021). I’m hopeful the set will receive a version update in the next few months, but even this older Android TV revision is fine so long as security patches are made available.
Powering the smart TV functions is a quad-core, ARM Cortex A55-based CPU clocked at 1.4GHz with 2GB of RAM and about 4.5GB of storage. While these specs more typically align with budget smartphones, Android TV is a lightened OS that foregoes a lot of background functions to deliver a more optimized experience on limited hardware. Here, the setup allows for a reasonably snappy interface that has little lag when updates are not processing, and video streaming apps run well.
As an Android TV, thousands of apps are available from the Google Play store for Android TV to customize your smart TV experience. Streaming and news apps work great, and some unconventional apps open up unique experiences. I enjoyed connecting a couple bluetooth controllers and playing classic console emulators right on my TV, as an example of the OS’s versatility. You can also sideload apps that aren’t available on the Play Store over USB if you want to tinker, or plug in a hard drive full of videos to play directly on the TV through a media player app. All in all, Android TV’s openness as a platform is a net positive.
- Bottom Line
Despite a low peak brightness and a dated Android TV OS, Hisense’s U6G Quantum Dot ULED TV delivers outstanding picture quality and a great user experience rivaling higher end sets. The panel is just overall a great piece, which is really the most important factor to consider for TVs. Muted HDR is a drawback, but at this price point it’s a worthwhile trade as color reproduction is still phenomenal, and SDR sources will still pop. With few complaints to write home about, I’m only left wanting for more content to showcase the vibrancy of the panel. The Hisense 75U6G comes highly recommended!

This TV is the best value-for-money TV. I checked out and compared rting.com ( link - https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/u6g). It has 8.0 overall rating, 8.3 for movies. What more do we need. Remember 8.3 rating is on par with mid to high Samsung and LG TVs.
I bought it for $800 for 75" and its definitely a good value. Please just check out rtings and search for Hisense U6G there; it will provide you detailed info about this TV.
I can watch it in day time, with window full open on a sunny day without any issue at all, the brightness, color is awesome. And I dont even use 100% full brightness...
There are preset for picture like - Vivid, Theater Day/Night, Sports which works out great for quick setting.
Not: if the attached photos looks grainy thats only because of my phone camera which might not do justice to the picture quality. There is no question about picture quality.
The Android TV works great.

We just got our Hisense 75" u6 series TV mounted on the wall...and we are impressed! First, it is packaged great! There is a lot of packaging, but that equals safety in my eyes! This TV comes with legs, but we chose to mount it on the wall. I felt safe with that bc the TV is light! Only weighs 63 lbs. Our mount holds up to 125. I guess that is bc the Bezel/TV is thin and it just looks amazing on our wall! Setup was super easy. I had no clue what to expect with a Google Android TV bc we have always had a Hisense Roku TV! But we absolutely love it. It is so streamlined and the menu and home screen is easy to maneuver! We have everything we need on the TV, there is no need to add any external things to get more of anything! It has Dolby Vision, HDR 10 and Quantum ULED technology. Now I am not sure what all these techy words mean lol, but I do know the clarity is amazing. Picture is very crisp and colors are vibrant. Gaming is excellent on this, along with sports. The 4 HDMI inputs are convenient too. There is so much more in this TV I haven't even learned yet, but I can't wait! If you are shopping for a TV, get a Hisense. You won't be disappointed.

I originally exchanged a TCL 5-Seires that had panel and hardware issues for the U6G, so to check for a good panel on it was crucial. Initially, the LCD panel had no obvious problems, and I was quite happy but later down the line did notice an issue that I describe below. Since this issue is not present in most of the content, I am considering not to exchange for another since I may end up with same or even worse problem. Panel consistency varies from unit to unit regarding color uniformity, and liked I mentioned before, the picture looks fine majority of the time.
Picture quality overall is excellent with all sources out the box and even better with some calibration, 720p and 1080i OTA (antenna) looks good upscaled, although the TCL 5-Seies was a little bit better. Shows is 4K for HDR & Dolby vision are gorgeous with vibrant colors and deep blacks on native apps like Netflix, HBO Max and Amazon. The problem is gray uniformity (pictured) you see sometimes in 4K shows that has up or down panning in the scene, it shows faint horizontal lines (banding) along with little dirty screen effect in the upper right-hand corner. I posted a YouTube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bO50hrNO36o that shows it, but horizontal lines issue does not show up well on video, however you do see the dirty screen on upper right-hand side.
Motion handing is good and did notice any problems on action movies or shows but did notice a little motion blur in sports like basketball. This TV has options to fix motion blur like the Motion Enhancement in picture settings. The only problem is when this setting is enabled it causes occasional artifacts in picture. I tried all the presets and some customs settings for it but still got those artifacts so just going to leave it off.
Design-wise the TV is very basic with everything being hard plastic, but nothing seems cheap or flimsy. TV feet are made of hard plastic also and are sturdy with little wobble. Length between stands is 51.9×14.0 inches are not adjustable to a smaller length so a long TV stand will be needed, mines is 70 inches for example.
Android TV is the operating system and is pretty snappy on this model (unlike previous models) just as fast as my Roku TV. Switching between apps is seamless, and variety of apps that you actual would want are available for the Android system, an example of this is LG’s WebOs still does not offer the HBO Max app while Android TV does.
Sound is good on TV speakers since volume can get loud, but you are not getting any type of bass response. I connected a Klipsch soundbar that stopped working after 4 days, the CEC system no longer detected the soundbar through HDMI ARC but connects via Bluetooth. Bluetooth connection is not optimal sound wise so just using the speakers for now. I also tried the soundbar on an older dumb TV, and it worked fine so does not seem to be a defective soundbar.
To some things up if you get a good panel then your golden cause this is a good TV but does have some issues.

Love this tv for the price! Wasn’t able to see this tv much in person because it wasn’t hooked up to anything in the store. Had a price point and the ratings were better than the others in the price point. I use it for steaming content only. Haven’t connected my ps5 since I have a gaming tv so not sure how it performs on that level but with steaming apps it’s amazing. Has everything you need if your looking to watch 1080-4K content and having Dolby atmos and all the hdr modes is a plus. Some are reporting issues with the tv but that’s just tech. Luckily no issues with my unit.

It’s been a little more than a year since we purchased this TV and for the price we paid it’s hard to be too picky but its an “ok” tv. The picture is nothing to get overly excited about as it really doesn’t look much different than the 8 year old Vizio we replaced. There are times when turning it on we get nothing but a black screen and it either takes a bit longer than it should to actually turn on or we have to restart it. We don’t have a ton of apps or anything on the tv and we get a “storage space is running out” notification even after deleting rarely used apps. If I had to do it over I would have probably spent a few hundred dollars more on something else and will likely replace this in the next year or so.

HISENSE SELLS 2 DIFFERENT VARIATIONS OF THIS TV

Specifically in the 75" model, not the others, there are 2 different versions with NO WAY to tell before getting it which one it will be (according to Hisense via their web chat feature). There is a VA type display, and an IPS variation. I got the IPS. This has better viewing angles but the blacks are not as deep as the VA version. Don't get me wrong, the image looks very good with bright content, but if you're picky about image quality you may be bothered by the lifted and somewhat milky shadows with pretty noticeable local dimming, i.e. the backlights turning off and on.
Mine also has a completely different body than the product images despite being labeled "U6G".. the body is honestly nicer than the product images as it has a more premium looking slim silver bezel at the bottom with matching metal feet (as shown in the photos), but it's weird to me that there would exist such a discrepancy.
I'm considering returning mine to exchange for one with better black performance, it's just an incredible inconvenience to have to pack back up and return a massive 75" TV.
And I'm still checking "yes" for the "would you recommend this item" question because honestly most people probably wouldn't care about the black levels and would be happy with it, but if you do care, you should at least be warned that the discrepancy exists.
Lots more information is available via rtings.com, and I must thank them for their help as they've been in communication with me via Instagram helping me figure out the issues with the image quality.

Well I figured I would watch it for a few days before I left a review. I have wanted to buy a 75in tv for some time. I almost pulled the trigger on 3000 dollar tv, which I’m now glad I didn’t. For 799 you can’t beat this TV. I didn’t buy this tv to game or watch a lot of sports. Just movies and 4k content. 4k content looks stunning. I have ran a few dirty screen tests and my panel looks great no banding or dirty spots the best one I have ever bought and it’s on a 75in tv. I guess I won the panel lottery! I paired this with arc on my new Samsung - HW-A650 3.1ch Soundbar that was on sale for $179. Wow awesome home theater setup! Now the negative the screen is ips/ads. There is some local blooming issues due to the back light system. But it’s not to bad for me.
