Customers often highlight the exceptional picture quality, including deep blacks and high contrast, as a major strength of the 75" Class U8 Series Mini-LED 4K UHD QLED Smart Google TV (2024). Many also praise its ease of use and the value for the price. While some mention the TV's weight as a potential drawback, others note occasional issues with the user interface responsiveness.

Couldn’t be happier with my choice. Excellent experience with Xavier, who’s helped Me fill my house with many other products from Best Buy. Amazing geek squad team came to install TV and soundbar. Looking forward to a 85” or 100” for next upgrade!

This Hisense 75U8N is replacing a Hisense 75H8G that I fell in love with back in 2021. At the time, I had never heard of Hisense so I was a bit skeptical of the quality. After testing it out with various content, I quickly became a fan of Hisense. That's not to say that the TV wasn't without its flaws. There were a few areas that I could tell still needed improvement. I was very excited to see that Hisense mitigated all of these issues on the 75U8N (which I'll discuss later in this review) as well as improved upon several other areas. This past week, I've been watching everything on the 75U8N from 4K HDR Blu-rays, to Dolby Vision/HDR10+ streaming content, to gaming on my PS5. This TV has exceeded my expectations by producing some of the deepest blacks that I've ever seen (as good, if not better than some OLED panels I've seen), having amazing contrast, and producing lush and vivid colors. With that said, there are a few very minor gripes that I have; one of which I believe is a bit of a design flaw (more on this later). Truthfully, if I was able to, I would have rated this product a 4.5/5 stars. However, I didn't think it was fair to deduct a full star for only a few minor gripes that I have which can easily be circumvented.
Hisense has always manufactured good looking TVs. The 75U8N is no different. It has extremely thin aluminium bezels that are coated in a black PVD and feature some really nice brushing. Unliked OLEDs that don't require a backlight system (which is what makes them insanely thin), Mini-LEDs do and therefore have a bit more depth. I measured a depth of about 3 inches on the 75U8N (this is not including the protruding pedestal stand on the bottom rear of the TV). The new pedestal stand design is a bit of a mixed bag for me; it looks a bit vanilla and plain. It's definitely not as aesthetically pleasing as the sharp and angular looking legs of my previous 75H8G. However, the new pedestal is far more practical. Since it only measures about 16 inches in width and 14 inches in depth, you now have a plethora of TV furniture to choose from. I like that the new pedestal stand allows you to attach it to the TV in two different height positions. You can either mount it on the lowest setting, for a bit of a cleaner look, or you can mount it on the the higher setting if you need the extra height. I went with the higher setting to make space for my soundbar which sits in between the base of the pedestal stand and the bottom lip of the TV. This is something to take into account if you plan on resting your soundbar on the base of the pedestal stand. In terms of inputs, I love that Hisense has given us 2x 4K HDMI @144Hz inputs and 2x 4k HDMI @60Hz inputs (one of which is an eARC input). There's also an "ANT/CABLE" input for the built-in ATSC 3.0 tuner. This is also a proper ATSC 3.0 tuner which receives NextGen TV signals!
One of the biggest improvements for this year's 75U8N is the remote; an often overlooked component. Hisense knocked it out of the park with this remote. It's near perfect. Not only does it look and feel very premium with it's brushed aluminium front cover, but I LOVE that Hisense made this a motion sensored illuminated remote. With this new remote, you simply pick it up and all of the major function buttons light up. The only buttons that don't light up are the streaming app shortcut buttons (e.g. Netflix, Disney+, YouTube). However, with all of this joy came a bit of a let down; the IR sensor placement on the TV. This is one of the minor gripes I have with the 75U8N. Since the sensor was placed smack dab in the center of the lower lip of the TV, it gets slightly covered by my soundbar. I really wish Hisense would have placed the sensor on the lower left or right of the TV. My soundbar is just short of 3 inches of height. The space between the bottom of the pedestal stand to where the viewable screen begins is about 3 inches (this is with the max height pedestal setting). My soundbar just barely fits but it covers the IR sensors on the lower lip of the TV. As a result, everytime I go to power on/off the TV, I have to extend my arm over the soundbar in order to properly register the IR blast with the sensor. What's odd is that I only have to do this to power the TV on or off. Once it's powered on, I can use all the other functions of the remote without having to stretch out my arm over the soundbar. Overall, this is a minor issue that can be easily remedied with an inexpensive IR repeater. This is also a non-issue if youre mounting the TV or if you have TV furniture that accomodates storage for the soundbar.
Now, for the most important aspect of the TV: The picture quality. This Mini-LED panel produces some of the deepest and inkiest blacks I've ever seen on any panel. I don't know if (or how much) this may vary from panel to panel, but the one I received is incredible. This is also the case for contrast. I have an OLED display in another room and this 75U8N produces blacks that are as good, if not better, than my OLED. The impressive 3000 nits of peak brightness also allows for some gorgeous Dolby Vision and 4K HDR10+ content. This is one of the brightest TVs I've ever seen and makes for a great daytime TV. One of the first things I recommend doing out of the box is disabling the "energy savings" mode in the settings. It comes enabled by default and it implements a lot of energy saving settings that hold back the potential of the picture quality. Right off the bat, some of the major improvements that I noticed on this 75U8N over my previous 75H8G is the posterization. On this particular 75U8N panel, I have zero color banding or posterization issues. This was an issue that would occassionally occur in dark scenes on my previous Hisense 75H8G. I tried really hard to see if I could pick up any color banding on this 75U8N and I have not been able to identify any yet. The shadow details look phenomenal in really dark scenes. Not only can you can really make out the details, like strands of dark hair on a person, but the layering and textures of the hair also look very refined and realistic. There's also a setting called "Dark Detail" that attempts to enhance these dark scenes to an even greater effect. Hisense rates the "motion rate" (i.e. simulated refresh rate) at 480. The actual refresh rate of the TV is 144Hz. While I did play around with the "Motion Enhancement" setting, I typically don't like watching non-animated content with software motion enhancement. For non-animated content, I usually left it off or on "Standard". I did notice that I actually quite enjoyed the "Motion Enhancement" on some Disney/Pixar animated films such as "Elemental" and "Wish". The additional smoothness of the animated characters motion made them appear more fluid without being distracting (like it usually is for me when watching real life content). When watching Dolby Vision content on streaming apps, I found the the "Dolby Vision Custom" preset to be the most visually pleasing.
An important note to highlight when using the "Dynamic Color Enhancer" setting is that whenever it was set to either "Medium" or " High", it always tended to make skin tones a little too pink or too red. When leaving it off, skin tones looked very natural, organic, and very detailed. This is probably a setting I would only mess around with when watching animated content. When watching HDR10+ content (such as the new Fallout series that just released on Amazon Prime Video), my favorite preset was the "HDR10+ Standard". I noticed that when watching the show, it initially defaulted to "HDR Theater". I did not like this preset at all as it caused some pretty significant backlight bleed on the widescreen bars located on the top and bottom of the screen. Switching it to "HDR10+ Standard" eliminated most of the BLB. And this is my last minor gripe. When watching widescreen content (such as the new Fallout series), regardless of what preset I tried, there was still a small amount of backlight bleed on the top and bottom widescreen bars. Since I'm never really focused on this part of the screen, it was barely noticeable and bothersome to me but felt it was worth mentioning. In all other blooming/local dimming tests that I performed, I observed nearly perfect blacks with virtually no blooming. The only other time I see occassional blooming is on a brief transition from an all gray background. The white uniformity on the 75U8N is also very good. I could hardly make out any "dirty" gray areas in scenes with light or white backgrounds.
Gaming on the 75U8N was also an absolute pleasure! Most of my gaming these days is on the PS5 and the PS5 titles I tried looked fantastic. The colors really popped and there was plenty of depth and layering to dark scenes. I couldn't find any information on the rated response time but it felt fast. I couldnt detect any type of input lag or delay. If you're connecting a console or gaming PC to this TV make sure you connect it to one of the 144Hz HDMI inputs and not the 60Hz input. Also, make sure to enable your 120Hz output on your PS5 by ensuring that it's set to "Automatic". I love that this 75U8N automatically applies the "Game Mode" preset when it detects a console. I also enabled AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and High Refresh Rate mode for those PS5 titles that take advantage of 120 FPS. I played games like Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, FF7 Remake, and they all performed flawlessly with fluid motion and felt very responsive.
I'm a huge fan of the new 75U8N. Hisense packed a lot of the newest visual and processing technology to deliver an excellent picture. While I did have some minor gripes, none of them really impacted the impressive visual fidelity that this Hisense 75U8N is capable of achieving. If you want to get top tier visual performance, but you don't want to break the bank, I highly recommend going into your local BestBuy to check out the 75U8N for yourself!

TV seems good on paper and I watched a lot of reviews but it has certain issues that I can’t get over. Will be returning. To be fair, I purchased the floor model and possibly these issues are this specific model but it will randomly flash black and then back to the content.. very odd. Called support and they were accommodating but I don’t want to deal with it. Switching to Samsung again.

The Hisense 75" Class U8 Series Mini-LED QLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV (Model: 75U8N) is an eye-catching addition to any family room, combining state-of-the-art technology with user-centric features to elevate your home entertainment experience. Having spent some time with this new 2024 model, I am genuinely impressed by its overall performance and design, making it a fantastic centerpiece for family movie nights and gaming sessions.
Picture Quality:
The 75-inch display is nothing short of phenomenal. The Mini-LED QLED technology ensures that the picture is not only sharp and detailed but also exceptionally bright. Whether it's movies, sports, or video games, the vivid colors and deep blacks provide a truly immersive viewing experience. This TV really shines when handling various lighting conditions, maintaining great visibility without any compromise on picture quality.
Design and Build:
This model is remarkably sturdy, especially when mounted on the included base. It exudes a sense of durability and stability, which is reassuring, especially in a bustling family game or hangout room. Its robust design ensures that the fun never stops, even during the most enthusiastic gaming sessions. This TV is built very well, it looks and feels strong and sturdy. The factory speakers are surprisingly, good, but I suggest hooking it up to a soundbar or surround sound system for the best viewing pleasure and a more immersive feel.
Remote Control:
Despite its large size, the remote is a highlight for me. The backlit buttons are a thoughtful touch, enhancing usability in dim lighting conditions. It’s great not having to fumble around for the right button during a movie night or when the lights are low. Oddly enough, the weight of the remote is also nice, it has the perfect heft to it. The buttons are perfectly placed, I noticed I didn’t even have to look at the remote when I first picked it up when setting up the TV. I love the quick buttons for some popular apps, you can even program a favorite app to the remote as one of the buttons. The most helpful button for my 6-year-old boys is the voice assistant button, they don’t need to spell anything, they just speak to the remote and tell them what they want to watch!
User Interface:
While the smart interface does leave a bit to be desired in terms of responsiveness, feeling a bit slow and clunky at times, it’s far from a dealbreaker. It's functional and provides access to all the necessary apps and features, though future updates could hopefully improve the smoothness. I set up custom profiles for the TV, when you turn it on you can choose who is using it, there is also the option for kids’ profiles. The TV comes with preinstalled apps from favorites like Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+, and Apple TV, and gives the option of downloading more from the Google Play Store. There’s so much this TV can do; I feel like I am exploring something new every time I use it.
Family and Entertainment:
My kids absolutely adore the large screen, which brings their games and movies to life in a way that smaller screens simply cannot match. The TV has quickly become the heart of our family’s entertainment, making it a beloved addition to our home. We have been trying to plan the layout of a game room for forever, once we got this TV the plans just snapped into place and finally, we have direction on the new space, and we can’t be more excited about it! Movie nights are about to be elevated to another level!
Conclusion:
Overall, the Hisense 75U8N is a superb choice for anyone looking to enhance their family’s TV viewing experience. With its impressive display, practical design, and a remote that shines quite literally, this TV stands out in the crowded market of smart TVs. While the UI could use some tweaking, the positives far outweigh this minor quibble. It’s a purchase your family will likely appreciate and enjoy day after day.

Love it. This TV is definitely the best tv I have ever own.
Unboxing:
You will need help, this is very heavy and just to install the stand it requires at lest two people. TV is heavy but I did not expect stand to be so heavy.
Setup
Setup took a little bit of time since I have setup tv trough my google home app paired with my phone but when completed TV had some of my account added itself.
Owerview
Picture clearly and brightness levels are amazing amd watching 4k contest provides cinematic experience. Everything that you try to open it will open fast, and since it's Android based apps are updated very often. Application wise everything that could be installed on your Android phone can be installed here as well. Sound is great, clear and lound because this TV has soundbar system installed and that is another reason for this TV heavy weight. I have used lots of smart tv's with internet browser but this is first tv i tried that has browser fully functional browser and did opened absolutely everything and I was able to navigate, open videos on diferent sites.
Remote controle has nice brushed touch, some custom buttons (such as netflix, amazon prime video, disney+) voice search and buttons light up on any motion of the remote which is my favorite.
Pros:
Large 4k screen
Fast response
Clear and bright ULED display
Android powered
Amazing sound
Google play apps
Cons:
NONE
I am extremely happy with this TV and all my friends are impressed. I got 3 large TV's in the house but my two kids don't want to watch shows anywhere else in the house anymore but on this TV.

This TV is fantastic. The picture quality is amazing and it is super bright even in a room with windows. The contrast is good too for an IPS type panel due to lots of local dimming zones and mini led backlighting. I was reluctant to try the 75 in model due to it having lower contrast than the 65 in with a VA panel. After owning it for a few weeks, I am fully satisfied with the purchase as it has deep blacks and a large screen size with great viewing angles. It is great for gaming as well with a high refresh rate, fast response time, super low input lag and no noticeable ghosting or black smearing. Highly recommend!

The TV is wonderful so far. Utilizing it for gaming (PS5) and the HDR quality as well as overall refresh rate, crispness of the image, etc are all excellent. Low latency allows for quick gaming responses when it counts
Watching TV/Movies on it is super solid as well as I have no complains in my experience.
We dont use the speakers on the TV but we do have fiber optic connection to our sound bar system and that works well.
The google interface on this integrates well with my google home setup. The overal ease of use of it is great as well.
Only thing you will need to do is play with the tv settings for brightness and contrast as the default settings are very dark and the colors are a little muddy. Once you tweak the settings enough, it looks great and the colors are vivd.
For the price, I'd honestly recommend this tv. Its very solid

3 week review:
I recently purchased a 75” Hisense Mini LED TV, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations in multiple ways. Here’s a detailed review based on my experience:
1- Picture Quality
The picture quality is outstanding! The Mini LED technology enhances brightness and contrast, providing vibrant colors and deep blacks. The HDR support really brings movies and shows to life.
2- Design
The sleek design of the TV is a significant plus. Its slim profile (not as slim as OLEDs) and minimal bezels make it an attractive addition to any room.
3- Sound Quality
The built-in sound system is surprisingly good for a TV of this size. The clarity of dialogue is excellent, and it manages to produce decent bass without needing a separate soundbar. However, for a truly theater-like experience, I recommend pairing it with a sound system.
4- Smart Features
This Mini LED TV comes equipped with smart features that are easy to navigate. The interface is user-friendly, and downloading apps is a breeze. Streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube are all readily accessible at a click of a button, and loading times are minimal.
5- Connectivity
Connectivity options are plentiful, including multiple HDMI ports, USB ports, and Wi-Fi. I had no trouble connecting my gaming console and Blu-ray player, making it versatile

I purchased this 75" TV at FL Mall Best Buy. It was $400 off the regular price and includes free delivery. The salesman was very knowledgeable so it was easy to decide what I wanted. I applied for a Best Buy credit card and received a 10% reward on my first purchase.
The delivery service is good. I was kept informed so I knew what time they would arrive. The two delivery guys carried the TV using the handles on the ends of the box. Although the box weighed 117 pounds they did not drag it.
This is the second TV I have purchased there. Having it in stock at the right price with free delivery made the sale.

I bought the 75 inch Hisense U8N, coming from LG OLED for about 3 years(fantastic tvs). Let me say , the Hisense U8N is a premium Television, but with a budget price. The black levels are black, I would say very close to OLED black. Bright colorful picture. For a daylight room. No problem. So far I love the TV. The remote is metal and heavy. Not a cheap feeling plastic remote. I got the 75 inch because the size but also the 75 inch has a IPS display with 2k dimming zones and the rest of the models have a VA display with varrying amount of dimming zones. Look it up on RTings.com The IPS panel will have wider viewing angles , the VA panel will have deeper blacks. I felt like 2k dimming zones in this size was a sweet spot vs the 85 inch which was less dimming zones despite being a larger tv. But i can not comment on the other sizes from personal experience. You want regret the purchase, esp on sale.

Remarkable television and terrific value. I had been holding on to a 17 year-old Panasonic plasma because LED tech didn't deliver the deep blacks that plasma offered. I considered moving to an OLED but current sets aren't terribly bright and they're somewhat expensive. The Hisense U8N caught my eye at my local Best Buy store and extensive research indicated that my eyes weren't deceiving me. I pulled the trigger and purchased the 75" version. The picture quality is incredible. Deep blacks that rival plasma and OLED, extremely bright picture, very good off-axis viewing. (Some reviews have complained about the viewing angle, but I can get WAAAAY off-center and still see a perfect picture.) Given the price ($1299 on sale, considerably lower than comparable OLED modesl), I view this as a terrific value. I also like the Google TV interface, prefer it to the Roku box we had been using. I am very happy with this purchase and with BB in-store and delivery staff. If you want the best picture possible, go with the Hisense 75U8N. You will be amazed.
