Didn't last a year
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great tv for the year it lasted. Started getting dead pixels and got a warranty replacement tv. Hisense replaced it with a newer model but destroys the old TV and leaves you with it.

Superior super bright TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent very bright picture. Many, many picture controls that can be adjusted to what you like or something terrible - word to the wise! I watch mostly at night in a dark room with backlight set to 0 and it is still bright.

Who would have thought?
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very pleased! Did hours of research and was surprised to find that this one came out on top. Essentially my only criteria was a 75+” TV under $2,000. I added the 4k package to YoutubeTV and the picture is stunning!

Great TV for Gaming and 4K Content!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hisense is a brand I’ve become more familiar with over the last few years. I have a 65 inch that is primarily our bedroom tv and it’s been a solid performer and held up well. When I had the opportunity to review this new U8H Quantum ULED I was excited because I was curious to see if the Mini LED technology was a big leap and I’ve been blown away. Initial setup of the tv took less than 5 minutes. The tv is packaged very well and has two base stands that can be put at different widths if you don’t have a wide enough piece of furniture to hold the tv. The tv is sleek and very thin and light for its size. The tv updated itself and I was able to get setup with Google quickly and it automatically logged me in with my YouTube tv app. I must say that if you have YouTube Tv this tv works beautifully with it. The Home Screen shows the channel list and favorites on the main screen along with all the apps available. It’s seamless and works really well. The tv itself has 4 HDMi inputs with 2 of them able to do 2.1 and 120hz. There’s also a digital optical and 1 composite video input and 2 usb 3.0. The tv supports the new wifi6e so streaming movies is a breeze and super quick and responsive. I was actually very surprised how fluid it is because I thought my tv was good before but this one kinda blows it away with processing speed. So let’s get to the meat and potatoes of the review which is picture quality. This tv has new Mini-Led technology that basically is a bunch of smaller LED’s that rival OLED picture quality without the worry for screen burn in. The technology also improves black levels and contrast and I can confidently say this is one of the prettiest tv’s I’ve ever owned. The colors are beautiful with deep blacks and crisp whites and the screen is BRIGHT. I actually had to adjust the backlight down a bit which is usually not a common occurrence with LED’s. I’ve really been impressed with how content looks streamed on this tv especially for its size, 75 inch tv’s have come a long way. The tv supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos sound and I’ve been satisfied with the results. I have a home theater setup so I will be using my bigger speakers most of the time. This tv supports a lot of features that will be important to gamers like HDMI 2.1, 120hz VRR, HDR 10, Freesync Premium pro and Dolby vision gaming. I have to say these features combined with the Mini LED technology make for the prettiest gaming tv I’ve ever owned. Forza horizon 5 on my Xbox series X looks absolutely stunning. No screen tearing whatsoever! I am absolutely giddy with how beautiful video games look like on this tv. I really feel like Hisense hit a home run with this one. The only issue I’ve had with the tv that I want to point out is it was very hard to figure out how to turn on the 120hz. Hopefully this is fixed in a future update because It’s nowhere to be found in any of the regular settings. I searched for 20-30 minutes with no luck and finally was able to figure out that I had to turn on my Xbox and put a game on that supports HDR and then click the menu button on the remote and there’s a setting for HDMI enhanced that needs to be toggled on. Once that is done the tv will display HDR10 and 120hz. I really think Hisense needs to make this feature easier to find because most people won’t even realize how to toggle it on/off or will just use the display at the lower settings and not even know it. Other than that the tv is perfect! To summarize I really am impressed with this U8H Quantum LED tv. It has everything I could ever want in a tv with responsive apps, quick WiFi, and features that gamers like myself are looking for. For the price point I really don’t think you can go wrong purchasing this tv. I highly recommend!

Big, Bright, and full of latest TV/Audio tech
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This years U8H looks a lot like last years H8G but don't be fooled by its looks. This years new model packs some hardware and software upgrades over last years. I wont go over every spec but some things to call out here. This years is mini LED backlit. It has a "nextgen" tuner in it for over the air broadcasts. It also supports wifi 6 and 6e and it comes with Google TV. This is also the first time Hisense is offering the U8 series in a 75" model. With that said this review is based on the 75" model. First things to do once you get though initial setup: Check for firmware updates and install Disable the room light sensor Take tv out of power saving picture mode and change to something else If you have external gaming system or blueray player that can do 4k 120 change the hdmi port to enhanced Uninstall any of the pre-loaded apps you don't use Display The TV has full array mini LED backlit 4k LCD panel and WOW is it good. No light bleed, near perfect uniformity, and no banding. I just can't believe it. I keep looking for flaws but I cant find any. This TV has the best LCD panel I've ever owned, period. It has Quantum Dot so colors on this TV are vibrant and look beautiful. The blacks are extremely dark and the whites are bright. Black bars while watching movies at top/bottom just disappear into the background at night. But yet this TV gets so bright I believe we have reached a peak where its just too bright. I had to turn the backlight down from 100% to 80% to help with that. You may need to adjust the brightness for a darker room or night viewing as I did. With that said this is both a great TV for dark and bright rooms. Oh and it supports every HDR profile out there. Sound Audio from the TV is better than most. If you don't have a external sound system you can get by with just the built in three speakers in the TV. The third speaker being a subwoofer built into the back. Adding a soundbar will much improve it though. If you have a external audio receiver or soundbar you will need to go into sound settings and change the sound output from Auto to Passthough. I noticed Auto just wasn't working correctly and I had major audio sync issues until I changed this. The TV natively supports a handful of audio formats as well including the latest Dolby Atmos! Remote I wanted to make a mention of the remote. Although it looks a lot like last years they did move a few buttons around. Another thing they changed is the remote is now backlit but it is not very bright and it only stays lit for a second. Its so fast you might not even notice. Smart TV OS The TV comes with Google TV. Google TV is basically Android TV with some added personal features on the home page. I really like it and for me having Google TV built in is a big pro. I prefer it over some of the others out there. The UI on this TV is impressively smooth and apps load quickly. I see no need to get an external streaming box or stick with how this TV performs. It does come with some pre-installed apps but you can remove most of them if needed. A few things I have ran into It has a hardware switch at the bottom to enable/disable the mic for google assistant. But if you turn it off four bright LEDs come on and they do not go away unless you re-enable the mic. Its way to aggressive and distracting which basically forces you to turn the mic back on. I cant find any way to turn this off. My external sound system takes about 2 to 3 seconds for audio to start playing after the picture comes in. Not a huge deal but kind of hope they fix this with a firmware update. I noticed with some lower quality source material the picture is not as clean. I can see noticeable artifacts around peoples faces and lettering and logos on screen. Nothing I change in picture settings makes any improvement to this. If your source material is high quality or 4k then its a non issue. I keep finding myself comparing this TV to high end TVs that cost a lot more. The amount of tech and features you get with this Hisense U8H is quite amazing. You would have to pay double to get this with other companies. With that said, this is a fantastic deal. I keep asking myself, whats the catch? Well folks there is no catch. This is just a great TV with a very reasonable price tag. Get one while you can because I have a feeling these are going to sell quick.

Great picture, everything else not so much
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am exchanging this TV for a Sony. The picture is great. Problems started almost immediately with internet connection via the TV apps. Lost internet connection on 3 separate occasions when my other devices were fine. Today it would not play YouTube TV, error saying invalid format. Then the sound also disappeared. Unplugged it and seems to be working OK, but don’t need the headache.
