The amazing 3d and incredible vistas suck you into this movie. Thorough entertainment for 3 hrs for reasonable price. I wish LOTR was done this well!

I am a fan of the Lord of the Rings series and the first Hobbit movie is keeping with that tradition. Looking forward to the 2nd movie coming out.

this is a great movie and the colors in it are vibrant and bright. I can't see how anyone wouldn't find this movie great. Also a good family movie

I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan and I was worried how the new triogly would keep to the quality of the original, but I wasn't disappointed.

This film is great for lovers of the book. I greatly enjoyed the additions of other Middle Earth lore as I think they enhanced the story.

A better than average movie but not in the same class as the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Slow at times and there is an almost cartoony quality to it. What was with Gandalfs face? It looked like he had a cheap mask on at times

Just a great movie. The Lord of the Rings were a great trilogy and these are going to be exactly the same. Can't wait for the other two.

Excellent movie. If you are a fan of the book it basically leaves nothing out with only minimal changes to the story IE the white ork.

A lot happens in this movie despite it taking ~40 minutes for the main character, Bilbo, to leave his hometown. This one follows the book in a satisfying way, but be prepared for some changes in the follow ups.

Awesome movie and looks even better on a 3D TV, beginning of 2nd disc it amazing as the scene pops out of the TV at you.

This is great movie to watch in 3D. The story and scenes are really good so we purchased the second release of this series.

This is a great chapter in the hobbit story. Make sure you watch all the others in order so you are up to speed when you see this.

Good movie was a bit slow in beginning, it is a series and did not say when next one will be out. Cliff hanger.. Did not read book will have to wait on next one to see what happens or ask my son who read the book..

Then Lord of the Rings Movies are an unbelievable collection of movies. The picture quality of the movies on Blu Ray is amazing.

I am an avid reader of Tolkien's books and loved the Lord of the Rings movies, and this one is pretty good, but not nearly as good as LotR. The extended edition does help to flesh out the story better though.

I am looking forward to parts 2 and 3. Tolkien wrote wonderful stories and the movies generally follow the stories well.

If you've read The Hobbit, you realize the movie follows the story very near to the book. Looking forward to the next movies.

The violence is a given in the "good v evil" movies and this is a good v evil movie. If you liked "Lord of the Rings" movies, you will probably like this. Enjoyed seeing the return of some of the characters.

This was an excellent movie that will continue the adventure by showing you the pre-story of how the ring came to the Shire
