This is the beginning to the Lord of the Rings. Nice

Good adaptations of books are able to cram as much of the book in as possible, but what the hobbit is possibly too much of a literal adaptation which slows the pace of the movie down

What another great movie from P.J., Awesome FX and story line. This movie lives up to the hype of the hobbit tale. not gonna tell anymore.....

Wonderful scenery, great acting and special effects. Just way too much information and way too long for your casual fan or average movie goer... I fell asleep multiple times and turned it off halfway through and have not finished it yet. And probably never will, unless I'm really bored. Jus because I didn't enjoy it , don't let that stop you from watching it. It's always better to make up ones own mind on movies, in my opinion.

The movie had poor. Character development, relied too much on the action. It didnt make me care about any of the characters.

This is a decent film, but be aware that the extended version is coming later this year.

I probably would have enjoyed it more before seeing the trilogy of Lord of te Rings/

The Best Buy steel book for this is missing the 2D disc. Only on the 2D disc is there the director's commentary.

Overall a good film perhaps.... but NOT like LOTR films in terms of action and plot. Slow. A dinner party for Dwarfs almost. Kept falling asleep.

The steelbook special edition of the movie does not include a 2D version - only the 3D version and the "extras". I did not see this advertised or discussed. Very poor execution on Best Buy's part - considering the extra price I paid. Very disappointed.

My family agreed that this was not the same as the trilogy. The same actors but just did not have the same excitement and enjoyment as the prior movies. If this one had been the first and not the forth I would not have watched and certainly not bought the rest.
