The movies graphics and acting is great! Not really sure if it was worth the 3D version seeing as it didn't have much pop out of screen more depth than anything. Also they could have trimmed an easy 30 minutes out, certain areas just drug on.

This movie doesn't disappoint - dazzling 3-d - awesome landscapes. Peter Jackson imagined some incredible scenes as well as working to fill in the back story. This adaptation is not quite true to the original book but is still very well done.

Loved this film, with the only issue being that one needs to see all three movies. When I saw this one the first time in theaters, I wasn't aware that it was part one of 3. Sadly the movie ends just as we get to the dragon. This time I bought all three in 3D, and watched them back-to-back-to-back, and it was awesome.

Although I am a hobbit fan I did not find this movie to be anything like the prior hobbit movies it could stand alone. If you are interested in buying this movie I would consider it for sure since there is no reason not to and if you have the money you would probably want to have the final hobbit in the series and then you could enjoy all three.

if you love the lord of the rings, you will enjoy the first part of the hobbit I felt it was a bit stretched out and maybe peter Jackson should have went for 2 parts instead of the planned 3. however it is a must see for any Tolkien fan

The filming and cinematography of The Hobbit are superb, and translate excellently onto a modern HD TV via this bluray. Mine came with an extra disk filled with special features, which I look forward to watching on the next rainy day.

Enjoyed much more than I thought....sometimes the more to the series the worse they get but this really followed the last of he Lord of the Rings movie and really was a great prequel.

The Hobbit is a classic story I read as a kid. The movie brings back all the memories and is well done. There are lots lot light hearted moments and I loved the goblin tunnels. The scene where Bilbo finds the one ring and parlays riddles with Gollumn is great. The extended extras are fun, especially the dwarves in Rivendell (I won't give away details).

Awesome movie, first in the trilogy. Brings you to the time before Sam and frodo take off on their own quest. I know a quite lot of hobbits that go on adventures, odd that they claim they never want adventure?

As a teen, I was a huge fan of J. R. R. Tolkien, so I was excited when I found out The Hobbit was coming to the big screen. There were a few minor changes to the book, but the movie was very enjoyable from beginning to end!

This second part of the Hobbit is much better than part one. Much more action. Leaves my wife and I waiting endlessly for part 3 of the trilogy to come out in December 2014. I recommend the 3D version for anyone who owns a 3D TV.

The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey is a great movie, but the extended edition coves a few things that the movie over looks and has a few added scenes that are more for kids than anything. If you have the extended edition of the lord of the rings, then buy this. Also this Steelbook is the 3D copy only, so be careful before you purchase this.

This film is solid walk through of the Hobit story. The graphics and acting, as with all other LOR and Hobit films is great. Personally having read the book I appreciate how close this film follows the book, but it does start out a little slow. Overall, it is great beginning to the trilogy, and the second part is even better in my opinion.

I love how they always release the extended version of these movies. It always adds alot more content than it originally had. It's such a steal since it has 4 Blu-ray discs, and boy that means there's alot of content!

This movie was better then I expected it to be. Although I don't have 3D I did watch it in blue ray 7.1 surround sound. Audio was great and visual in HD was clear. Can't wait for the continuation of story if there is going to be one.

So, if you are a LOTR fan you will of course love this movie. I saw it in theaters and though it does lose some of the amazing cinematography on the small screen, it is still a fantastic film. It's one the entire family can enjoy.

The Hobbit is easily the best movie of the year, and in this edition comes with both blu-ray and dvd for the convenience whether you're at home wit h your blu-ray player or if you want to take the dvd to a friends for movie night.

Adored this novel as a preteen. I was exposed to this book at a relatively early age and I was completely blown away by the imagery Tolkien was able to produce. Short, sweet, concise, and compact. Everything the movie isn't. While the imagery is present, so is an unnecessary amount of bloat. Still, it's worth the trip

Fantastic book brought to life an I have nothing bad to say and it goes nice with my LOTR collection. the cinematography is always great. Definetely not disappointed about this purchase. I'll be back for The Desolation of Smaug!

The original version of this film is pretty cool so I wanted to get some extra viewing pleasure. I was not disappointed. I would recommend the exended version to all who can't get enough of Middle Earth.
