YOu feel like you never left Middle Earth in this prequel to Lord of the Rings. Plenty of action and intrigue. Sets you up for the desolation of Smaug that is sure to please as well.

What's to say, anything to do with Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit are always top notch movies and this one being 3D just makes it so much better to watch! Well worth the price!

The quality of the film is great, as much as it possibly can. The features are nice, several behind the scenes and commentary. Still not better than anything from the Lord of the Rings series, but a good film, tied with the third Hobbit film as the best of the Hobbit series.

If you like the LOTR trilogy you will love this one as well. I can't speak for the other two films in The Hobbit trilogy as I have not seen them yet, but this one is very good.

Great story. enjoyed all the other hobbit movies, and this one is no exception. The characters were great and for a 3+ hour movie, it goes by so fast because the story draws you in

I don't think the movie needs much of a review. Those enjoying this genre of movies will like the movie, and many who aren't terribly fond of the genre will, as well.

As the second installment of the Hobbit saga this one did not leave you wanting. The edge and excitment were all and more. I can't wait for the next and final leg of the journey.

I thought the extended scenes were great. some you could see why they were left out for the flow but others answered some questions that were in the book but not on screen

This set is worth it just on the bonus features themselves. The extended cut does give this film a different feel and that was a welcomed addition. For me too much is never enough.

Great prequel to The Lord of the Rings saga. Fairly true to the book with some "extras". This is the first part of a two movie "set". Breath taking scenery, great acting and costumes.

It was a good purchase and nice 3D, but all my other 3D movies came with multiple formats including a regular DVD. This one is only a blue ray 3D so I am unable to play the movie on my laptop and other TVs in the house. A little disappointed but not in the movie itself.

I really enjoy watching this movies again. Even when the additional content is not that much the movie is worth it still. Highly recommended to those J R R Tolkien fans

My son read the book first and really enjoyed the movie. He loved the flow and storyline. Plenty of action and special effects. Keeps to the book and the intent of the author.

This film gives you everything you want: great performances, amazing CGI, excellent script, beautiful music, humor, and a compelling story. A must-have for your collection.

Wanted to have this movie to watch on my new smart tv as I have a shutin who can't make it to the theatres. This 3D movie looked almost as good as on the big screen in the theater.

The movie is great and you will like it if you are a lord of the rings fan. The dwarfs are not as good as gimli was in LOTR and I wish they would have made them slightly less goofy.

If you by the hobbit you probably have seen the movie in theaters or read the book. Some parts are long and draw out, but overall its enjoyable to watch if you enjoy fiction movies.

When purchasing your LOTR or Hobbit films make sure you get the extended edition. As an avid Middle-Earth fan I loved the extra scenes and enjoyed the special features.

I purchased all the hobbit movies along with The Lord of The Rings series. Getting ready for a weekend binge session on our new 65" tv and surround sound.

I loved Jacksons take on the Lord of the Rings series, and this did not dissapoint. The extended version is phenomenal and I can not wait for the next chapters in this trilogy.
