I'm a big fan of the LOTR series and this movie doesn't disappoint. It holds your attention thruout, save for perhaps the overly long Smaug exchange near the end. Also, it's hard for me to believe they couldn't have shortened this story down to 2 or even 1 movie. Oh, well...

Awesome movie. I was a little worried when I found out they were splitting the book into 3 movies, but I think it'll work out just fine. It did for the first installation, anyways.

Such a fun movie with great action and nice character development. Peter Jackson always does a fantastic job with these movies and I love that Martin Freeman is Bilbo. Great movie!

This movie is fabulous! The Extended edition does not add way too much but for the same price as the standard, why not get this? It is a great value and you will not regret it!

Amazing movie in 3-D! I'm so thrilled they finally put it out. Now if we can just convince them that the Lord of the Rings series needs to be in 3-D!

Normally I am not a fan of the genre, but The Hobbit is amazing. Extended editions are the best, and the extra content enhances the viewing experience.

This is the first part for the lord of the rings trilogy!! the cinematography and music is just amazing, if you are a fan or not you wont be disappointed, this movie delivers!

I thiught this movie was great and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I bought it for the 3D and I was sceptical that it would be a good transition but it played flawlessly on my DVD player. I was very pleasantly surprised. I am very much looking forward to watching the sequal.

The extended edition offers more of the deletes scenes that were not shown in theaters. This edition offers a different take on the movie and makes for one exciting watch.

Love the movie, love it more in 3D. The depth 3D give this adds an immersive element that makes this so much fun to watch.

I have all three lord of the rings. now working on all three Hobbit movies. I did go and see these three movies at the theatre and loved it. Go out and get this movie!

I bought this extended version to replace the original version. I wish that the extended version was the only one ever released, but I understand the gimmick imvolved.

This combo pack had a DVD and Blu-Ray and Digital Copy with it and it is part 1 of the Hobbit series from J.R.Tolkin and it was very good to see Peter Jackson direct it again.

This film is great and should recieve zero negative criticism. Some people are upset the whole book couldnt be adapted into one movie...but have they seen the size of the book?

The world is a wonderful and terrifying place with extraordinary beauty and the story is the sort that warms the heart as it celebrates loyalty and courage and magic.

I love all of the Extended Editions...they're the best discs out there for movie dorks. Can't recommend this enough if you're a Tolkein/Peter Jackson/LotR/Hobbit fan!

The 3D version doesn't have anything flying out of the screen at you, but it does add allot of depth to the scenes, which I think gives you a much better movie experience.

Peter Jackson still has the magic touch. There were certain scenes that were repetitive, but they were few and far between. Blu Ray is definitely the way to go for this movie.

My wife and I were unable to catch this at the movie theater so decided to buy in on blu-ray 3d and we are glad we did. The movie alone is amazing and in 3d even more so.

Being a Tolkien fan I am somewhat biased. The movie was true to the book with spectacular scenery, special effects and acting performances. Another Jackson masterpiece.
