This set with the 3d bluray and digital copy is a great for around the house and on the go!

My son has watched it for 20 times. Totally worth it if you have a middle earth fan in family.

The movie is ok and the 3D is solid but if you want to watch this theatrical release version in 3D it is split over 2 discs!?!? SUPER annoying!

Enjoyed every second of this movie. This epic adventure will keep you on the edge of your seat.

I liked the way Jackson tied in some LOTR background (e.g. having Legolas go looking for someone called Strider) but the battle scenes were just way too long and fake. The Hobbit was not a book about war but the movie almost seemed to be focused on it. The fights with the Orcs were just too repetitive. I thought Jackson did a good job, with a few exceptions, with LOTR. However in trying to stretch The Hobbit to 3 movies he had to add in too much of his/his wife's additions and they just aren't as good a storyteller as Tolkien.
