The control panel has touch sensitive switching, a swipe of the finger. The control panel lights up when activated then lights off, great feature for night use. Quieter than most units. Accurate temperature monitoring. Seamless operation as compressor comes on then shuts down to fan only. Priced higher than some other brands, but well worth it.

Our room is about 180 sq ft and it will reduce the temperature by 10 degrees or so. So, if it's 100 degrees outside it will be 90 in our room, 90 degrees outside 80 in our room, etc. It's not a huge difference but, for the price, it helps when it's unbearable.

Had a window air conditioner and worried if there was a fire would need easy access out, but thing works better than any window unit we've had.

Although it seems to be cooling the space pretty well, it is very, very loud, even on the low fan setting. I don't know if portable A/C units are usually this way. We used to have a Frigidaire window A/C that was efficient and quiet, but when we got new windows, the old a/c wouldn't fit.
