I bought one at home depot and it is all I could have wanted and more. This is not to good for me. Perhaps to others but I was looking for something that had an ump in blowing air. This one is just not for me. Thinking of giving it away.

Also the part you put in the window does not fit properly and there is a space where the outside air comes in.I would not recommend this product. Go back to a window unit they are more efficient.

Wish I had my noisy window until back. Second floor apartment, three walls exposed, and I have lots of windows (although, brand new windows installed a few weeks ago). I suppose these factors could be working against me, but even though it is a window that is in shade 90% of the day, I use blackout shades and draw curtains, and keep the AC at 69 with a high fan on a humid 90 day it cannot cool it below 74/76. Is this normal? I reviewed the book and double checked all the reasons it may not cool, and I am doing everything right.

Room environment conditions such as ceiling height, sunlight, number of windows/ doors and level of insulation can affect cooling efficiency and there are ways to increase the capacity of these units. There could be other reasons for the unit to not cool- temperature setting could be too high, or the exhaust hose may need re-installation to avoid the heat from coming back into the room. My insignia broke and there were none left to replace it. The Honeywell does the job but I still cry and cry. (reviewed by my daughter)
