Not as good as a window unit

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This BTU can be misleading, check the DOE if you aren't aware of the standard for portable units it's more accurate but for 6500btu this unit doesn't cool as effective as a $300 GE unit I have. Bought this as a gift but results weren't great. 550sq ft should be changed to 300. If you have a small room this will be good. Small living room with TV and home theater receiver giving off heat eh! This unit won't make much of a difference.
