    Did not cool well

    I bought this a/c hoping that it would fulfill all the 5 star customer reviews, but it did not. I'm not sure how the 550 square foot area is measured from Honeywell's perspective, but I have a 96 square foot tiny home that it could not keep up with. After trying multiple different things - making sure the filter was clean, air flow wasn't blocked, water was emptied if it was too humid - nothing helped this unit properly cool. It was often set at 70 or 72, but could not get below 78 in the summer. After calling Honeywell customer service, I was told by the representative that, "a window unit would be more powerful that a portable unit so you should have done your research." I then called Best Buy's customer service and they said I was outside of the return window so they would not do anything about the unit not cooling how it was supposed to and I could take it up with the manufacturer. If you buy this a/c unit, I would HIGHLY recommend getting the extended warranty since Best Buy and Honeywell both do not cover things like the unit not functioning as it is marketed.

The cooling efficiencies of these units are affected by environmental factors such as poor insulation, direct sunlight in the space you are trying to cool, heat producing appliances in the room, outdoor temperatures over 95﮿ or other factors that may affect the cooling efficiency might be open doors or windows, furniture or other objects blocking the vents, please check your exhaust hose should be as short as possible to ensure proper functioning, obstructed air intake area or exhaust, if the vents are dirty you can vacuum them lightly, clean the air filter every two weeks.     Horrible product

    I had this delivered to my house on a Friday and set it up Saturday. Having a Honeywell portable A/C already in my house I was used to the parts and setup and how to run it. I set up the equipment, and today turned it on for 5 hours. It did absolutely nothing. The air blowing out on fan is the same temperature as the same on cool, no cool air at all. I rechecked everything andit is all hooked up correctly. It's like this piece has zero refrigerant in it to cool air. Now I have to pack it up and lug it to Best buy to return in it and hopefully get a replacement.

    Don't Buy This Product

    This unit we bought did not cool area 300 sq. We live by the beach, temperatures only rises a few weeks out of the year and under 100 degrees Unit will not cool room under 80 degrees even when started in the cool morning. Unit puts out a horrible stink. Do not buy this unit
