Posted .Thank you for sharing your experience. The white dust is produced by minerals in the water. Because this unit takes the water and blows it into a screen which grinds it up into a mist, any minerals in the water are also ground into a mist. When this moisture evaporates, the minerals cannot, so the dust lands on furniture. This dust is not harmful or dangerous, and it can be prevented by using distilled water in your unit.
