Not cooling a garage in AZ

Garage is approximately 450sq ft & unit says it can handle 500sq ft. Had a previous insignia unit that was rated for 250sq ft & cooked better than this. Not recommend the price.

It cools the area and has allowed us to cut our power bills significantly. It is a little louder than I would like when in the cooling cycle. About as loud as a hotel room unit. But has helped my individual situation.

Puts out cold air, just not large enough for the space I installed it in. Cord could be longer. Difficult to locate close enough to a window for hot air exhaust while also finding a plug nearby. Multiple warnings not to use an extension cord.

Though this unit can cool a space of 550-700 sq.ft, room environment conditions such as ceiling height, sunlight, number of windows/ doors and level of insulation can affect cooling efficiency.

But it does save me money from blasting my central ac everyday and barely cool enough with a ceiling fan on to cool my living room the whole day. i like it but i think there are better one out there...

Would work for small room

Maybe I am wrong, I took this back and got one that covered 700 sq foot and it worked a lot better. If you are purchasing this AC I would only get it for a bedroom or something small.

Used the machine for 2 weeks while one zone of our AC was down. Only complaint is that the window insert did not extend wide enough to fill our entire window. Needed to add a few inches of cardboard at the end.

Its just so darn hot that this AC doesn't compete with the heat very well. I'm still sweaty and I am hogging this AC
