It was very easy to install and I like the ability of checking and adjusting the temperature of the house while I am away. Regarding the rebates, however, if you opted out of the smart meters, you are ineligible for the savings program. This wasn't fully disclosed, therefore I give it only four stars.

It also includes outside weather conditions and forecast. Installation was simple, be sure to take a picture of your old thermostat connections. A little pricey. I like the fact that you need a password to make adjustments.

Older thermostat was battery powered, this one uses the 5th wire (often referred to as the common wire or c wire). May need to open the furnace and make sure the 5th wire is connected, this powers the thermostat instead of battery.

The ability to change background colors is awesome. It's also saved me many nights or mornings when I don't want to get out of bed to change the thermostat.
