Turns out, I love it! Have it in the bedroom and I purchased a relaxing essential oil to use with it. It actually helps me sleep better!

It is only large enough for a medium sized room. It did help keep the humidity up in the lower level of the house. I ended up getting a whole house unit.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll get straight to it: -The rate at which it can humidify even at max setting is slower than the rate that a normal space heater dries air. Measured this with a hygrometer over two days of use in less than 300 sq ft closed bedroom. -It poorly distributes the steam, so only the air relatively around it will be humidified, and not the rest of the bedroom. -Takes about 10 minute start-up time to heat up water. -Hassle to refill water is punishing. Leaks from the giant screw-in bottom, and difficult to unscrew after tightening it so much because you have to in order to prevent leaking...which still doesn't prevent leaking. It gets two stars because it can probably work in a small bedroom with central heating system. My unit is not defective. Disappointed with Honeywell. Do they not test their products anymore to realize what it's like to try it themselves before going out to mass selling them?

Posted .We appreciate you sharing your experience. Initially when using a unit, it can take a seemingly long time for the humidity level in the room to rise. The reason for this is that your unit is constantly trying to push moisture into an extremely dry environment. Everything in that environment (walls, floors, furniture, carpet, etc...) is absorbing this moisture. Only when all the objects in the environment are saturated, will the water from the humidifier stay in the air. We hope this information is helpful. It came in very handy to use with the essential oils i had. It kept the rooms smelling like i was in a pine tree forest without the trees. The Honeywell warm mist Humidifier had the rooms smelling so good that i may have to buy another for my Sister.
