After getting the unit out, reading the directions, and adding about half a gallon of water into it, I turned it in. It ran it for about 10-15 minutes then it shut off and the reset light came on. That typically means it's out of water. But it wasn't. There is plenty in there. So I reset it, ran it again, and the reset light came on and it shut off after a couple minutes. According to the directions, that could mean I have to clean the heating unit; but it shouldn't need to be cleaned/de-scaled after running a total of 20 minutes tops. So I let it cool down, waited about 30 minutes, and then took everything apart - everything was clean - put it back together and turned it on. Within a minute or so, the reset light came on and the unit shut off. Perhaps it’s just this unit that is a lemon, but this is being returned and I’ll purchase a better quality humidifier. I would not recommend this.

I allowed it fully cycle a fill of water and never changed. Even tried cleaning everything according to manufacturers recommendation but didn’t make a difference. I returned the item a few days later.
