It might be quiet for a min, but from day one this tower fan was a headache. Which is shocking because it got high reviews on several websites. Not sure if mine was just defective or what, but it was not hard to decide whether or not I should return it. It would randomly shut off if I pushed any fan 'volume' button or light setting button, the osculating would not work consistently (it was act like it was stuck and move just a little back and forth and then go full spin) and it would start to make this weird whiney, click noise after a few minutes. I will say though, that the night light option was great. But not great enough to put up with all of its other issues.
