Changed the batteries and still nothing. Not sure if the remote is the problem or the receiver on the fan is the problem. I guess will return for an exchange.

If you plan on using it in a bedroom or at night, be ready to hear all kinds of weird noises including: Electrical buzzing Random clicking sounds Fan speed fluctuations Random plastic creaking (the entire thing is plastic) These jarring sounds have made it completely unusable at night.
