I had read that in some of the reviews, but the overall rating was high. Very poor construction, I had to return it, much to my dismay. Haven't gotten another cordless brand yet.

Great light vac

One nice thing on this unit is the LED lights on it show all the dust on the floor that is not easy to spot with out a light. We have owned a Dyson vac that died and when took it apart to see what the problem was it turned out to be a circuit board problem. Very complicated electronics for a vac. Not only one board but another board attached to the back of the fan motor. I guess Dyson never heard of "keep it simple".Anyway,, This hoover is built well, works well, dirt builds up around the filter but that is what a filter is for, to stop the dirt. We have not found that it inhibits suction. If you are using it to vac up powder it could plug up the filter. But seeing we use it for dusty wood floors it work great. Battery like is fine but we did buy a Extended Run battery because we do 1700 SF of wood floors. Would we buy it again? yup !!

The last time I left it on the charger, the battery hadn't charged and the charger wouldn't come on when I returned the battery to it. I thought that perhaps it had recharged but I hadn't inserted it properly into the vac, so I tried again. And again. And again. Completely cleaned the vac filter and hand vac and tried again. Nada. Bupkis. Totally dead. Piece o' Junk.

Posted .Hi there! This does not sound like Hoover quality and we have a few tips to help get everything back in working order! The charger should illuminate once the battery has been reset. Please try these steps below and feel free to leave us a comment on Facebook, tweet us @HooverUSA, or call 1-800-944-9200. We've got your back!
1. Unplug the charger and leave it off for at least 1-2 minutes.
2. Next, take the battery in question and put it in the unit. Then, turn the unit on and let it run for about 1-2 minutes.
3. Now, turn the unit back off.
4. Plug the charger back in and make sure you see a visible red and blue light.
5. Finally, place the battery onto the charger.
After completing these steps, the lights should begin to move in a sequence along the front which indicates the battery has been reset.

Awkward .....Frustrating...Disappointing !

The battery was my biggest frustration. Almost IMPOSSIBLE to remove from charger. (even following directions) FINALLY did get it off the charger many sore fingers later ! And it takes forever to recharge ! Does not clean as well as my older model Lynx. Cup capacity smaller and have to change OFTEN ! AWKWARD getting the cup detached from the main vacuum to dump. Ended my cleaning session feeling FRUSTRATED ! Heading to my local Best Buy to exchange for the Lynx model without the detachable 2 in 1 cleaner (which by the way was the best part of the vacuum) If it hadn't been for the awkward battery system I might have put up with the whole thing !
