The pet hair attachment is a joke, it spins as long as you are not touching anything, there is so little suction that it stops as soon as you try to use it.

It could be time to rinse out your filter. Remember to only rinse it with water and let it dry for 24 hours. If that does not help, we ask you to make sure the dirt inlet tube is not clogged. It worked great when it was functioning though. Not for long time use.
