I recently purchased a New Samsung Q90T 65" (2020) Q-LED TV and matching Q950T Samsung Soundbar and 4K UHD Blu-ray Player and wanted to purchase a few really good priced Blu-ray Movies to show off the picture and ATMOS surround audio. This DVD does not disappoint. Great movie with plenty of action scenes with very good Surround sound. And I got it on sale! Better than going to the Movies, especially now since COVID-19.

I took a chance on this one as it was very low priced during Black Friday. I liked the actors in other films, so blind bought this one. Not a bad watch, but probably don't need to see it again.

One of the finest movies I've seen in years, the uncompromising brutality of the early Western expansion and the Army's role in displacing native American tribes...hauntingly beautiful soundtrack, Wes Studi and Rosamund Pike are flawless in their respective roles and Christian Bale adds another fantastic performance as a PTSD-riddled Army Captain 100+ years before the term existed. Absolutely fantastic if somewhat predictable regarding the relationships that form over the course.

I saw this movie in a theater when it first came out and was blown away. The acting in this flick is beyond outstanding. Christian Bale does some of his finest work which says a lot. The story, the action, the direction, etc. is very well balanced. There are portions of the story that seem to move slowly but there is a purpose as the nuances of the plot and characters are more fully realized. Anyway, this is a must watch movie and kept me engaged till the very end. Well Done!!

"Hostiles' looked very interesting in trailers before its release--then it lasted only a short time in the theaters. Don't be misled by the short run. This is a powerful film about prejudice and pre conceived ideas that just happens to be a western. Gritty, realistic, and thought provoking throughout, "Hostiles" is a must see. Great performances by a stellar cast and majestically photographed, I was expecting it to be good, but was surprised that it was great!

Honestly I didn’t know much about this movie when I purchased it. I’m extremely happy I picked it up. The characters in this movie are beautifully made and each actor brought their A game to bring them to life. One of those western movies that has to be a part of your collection and although it’s western in time period the story can apply across all ages - what a extreme depth on hardship, love, prejudice and forgiveness- Well worth every penny and one of those movies u can watch over and over again.

I think that "Hostiles" was one of the greatest Western films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite Western films of all-time. I had first seen this film in theaters and I enjoyed it immediately. Rosamund Pike's role in this film was amazing and I also think that "Hostiles" had a lot of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable action, drama, mystery and suspense including exciting and original personal storylines.

nothing about this movie says hostiles the only hostile moments are the very beginning and near the end it was a good movie but does not live up to its title

Hostiles was very violent at times. The R rating (17 years of age and up) is appropriate; however, several violent parts may still be overly disturbing for some adults. The movie kept my attention and the character development was well done. The selection of the cast was perfect. I recommend this movie, but caution, not for the squeamish.

I thought it wasn't a bad movie, just making it to the 4-star level. The production/cinematograhy quality was good, acting was very good (probably the best part of it). Stepping back it does get a bit "preachy" as they try to make relevant ties to today's current events. Therefore, some may think there is a bit of moral over-reach as the character's conclude or move on to a different destination... but you can't fault it for being a post-viewing conversation starter!!!

Excellent movie and easily the best western since Unforgiven. Although a brutal and violent movie, it was all in context and not overdone or gratuitous. The acting was superb and the character development was well done. Additionally, production and cinematography were outstanding. I really don't have anything negative to say about this movie and would highly recommend it.

Hostiles is a great film. In the fashion of the old time westerns. Christen Bale does an excellent acting performance and actor Wes Studi gives another stunning performance. The scenes in the Painted Desert and the mountains in Wyoming looked like you were actually there with the 4K video. We need more western movies like Hostiles. I highly recommend adding this to your collection!

If you are looking for something based on the wild west, I would highly recommend. A story which takes us from what we perceive as enemies to each other and brings us together as one kind all wanting the same sense of piece, acceptance and understanding.

I've watch Christian bale movies since the 1980's when he first started. While this was entertaining (thanks to Wes Studi's performance) it seems Christian's roles have started to become more about pouting around the screen, speaking in barely audible tones, and saying as little as possible, letting his facial expressions do the talking. Still, he's an entertaining actor and I enjoyed the film. GREAT ENDING...but you have to see it to see it.

This is a pretty intense and deep movie. That said, plenty of action and an amazing storyline too. Great acting throughout and an interesting treatment of both sides of the atrocities that took place during that era in American history. Excellent visuals and sound. An excellent BluRay for sure.

The movie is very good with great acting. If you’re a fan of Mr. Bale then for sure check this movie out, his acting in this movie is at elite level. The action is also good with nice set pieces. If you’re a fan of the genre you’ll enjoy this movie. It’s a gritty, raw, thought provoking movie. And I got for the low.

The brutality of the western territories is part of this films message, the other is the growth of the human spirit to forgive and reconcile with those who were enemies not long before. Christian Bale, Wes Studi, Rosamund Pike, Adam Beach and others deliver great performances in a film that, while a little slow for my taste, delivers good messages among the insanity brought on by others.

So I’ve kind of been into watching “modern” western themed movies lately. Hostiles was recommended to me by a friend. I have to say I really enjoyed it. Even though the subject matter is a bit tough to take at times, the movie is realistic, gripping and even beautiful at times. Great acting too. Watch this movie. You’ll be glad you did.

This movie is kind of slow but the storyline is good. Christian Bale is his usual excellent self in his role.
