These animated features are the first two installments of what is now a trilogy ("HT: Summer Vacation" is one of summer 2018's biggest box office hits, so there's probably a "Hotel Trans IV" already in the works). The franchise headlines Adam Sandler as the infamous bat-winged Dracula, but except for the fangs there's very little bite or fright in these movies. Instead, we get family comedies with the Count trying to cope with his feisty daughter Mavis (voiced by Selena Gomez), his famously monstrous friends Frankenstein, Wolfman, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, etc. (voiced by Steve Buscemi, David Spade, Kevin James, Molly Shannon, and Fran Drescher), all while he is trying his best to keep his resort hotel for "monsters looking for a relaxing getaway" solvent. Problems ensue when a human (voiced by Andy Samberg) inadvertently wanders into the hotel and begins canoodling with Mavis, who falls head-over-wings for the likable lunk, in spite of Daddy Drac's insistence that monsters and humans don't mix. The jokes range from the clever to the corny, but this is definitely kid-friendly fare, with Sandler vamping with an accent that only he can pull off, among friends that seem to be having an equally good time. My young granddaughters enjoy watching both films back-to-back, multiple times, so if you have kids and a desire to keep them occupied for a couple hours, this is a disc well worth the cost.

Daughter loves it. Great price for the set. I would recommend.
