Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the Highlander Foldable Electric Scooter's top speed, operating range, Bluetooth capabilities, and its relatively lightweight design. Many appreciate the scooter's price point and headlight. However, negative feedback frequently centers on the battery life, ride quality, and the scooter's durability. Concerns have also been raised regarding the noise level and the brevity of the warranty period.

Design: looks like a standard scooter. Handles screw in without any other locking mechanism, but feel solid and stable without any feeling of slippage during regular use. Charging port is located on the rear wheel area, but honestly could’ve been placed anywhere because the scooter folds up. Integrated kickstand that folds up when riding the scooter. Features: can control the modes via a simple menu. Push the button to turn the scooter on/off, tap the button to cycle through speed modes. The lowest setting (blank window) averaged 7mph, the medium (blinking S) averaged 12-13 mph, and the sport mode (solid S) hit 15 mph. For reference, I weigh 160 lbs. there’s also a small headlight you can turn on/off as well for safety when you’re riding at night. As stated above, the scooter comfortably hits 15 mph for my weight. Out of curiosity, I tried to take my friend but the motor couldn’t handle our combined weight of two adults. I was able to take my kinder-age son without any problems. Fun little device to scoot around on, folds up in half so stores easily.

    Great way to get around

Living in the Bay Area, I needed a better way to get to work and around the city. The commutes are horrible, especially getting into San Francisco. Rather than renting a scooter on the daily, I decided to get an electric scooter of my own. The Hover-1 - Highlander Foldable Electric Scooter was perfect for my commute. With a 15mph top speed and 9 mile range, this was more than enough for me to get to the Bart station and work/home. As for storage at home and at work, the Hover-1 - Highlander folds easily and makes storage so simple. This was especially important for me when riding public transportation since space is limited during busy commute hours. The Hover-1 - Highlander Foldable Electric Scooter comes with a light and a nice mini gauge to keep track of battery usage and other important information. I really like getting around with my Hover-1 - Highlander Foldable Electric Scooter. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Best Buy Lies to Sell Products

**BUYER BEWARE** We bought two of these scooters in March 2022. In July 2022 one of the two scooters stopped working during a ride. The scooter turned off and wouldn't turn back on even though it had plenty of charge. No worries though, right? We were told by the Best Buy employee (at the time of purchase) that it had a one year factory warranty. Wrong, it only HAS A 90 DAY WARRANTY!!! If we had known this at the time of purchase, there is no way we would have turned down the extended warranty, or maybe even reconsidered the purchase. Be sure to read the warranty info on ANYTHING you purchase from Best Buy, they are very deceptive and just want to sell.

    Bought 2 defective scooters

This is the 2nd one i buy and both of them are garbage. First one would turn off if it didn't have a full charge. Literally would be over half charged and just turn off. Eventually it just stopped turning on. Luckily i was able to return it because it was still early enough to do that. I bought a 2nd one thinking the last one was just defective. The 2nd one turns off at half way charge. So constantly had to carry the charger with me. Eventually the throttle stopped working and the brake. The thing would go and not stop. Found out while riding it full speed and couldn't stop. Ended up flying off that thing and got road burn all over my body. Now it's too late to return to the store and the company said tough luck. Don't buy it. Not worth getting hurt over. Get a better one even if it's more expensive.

    Great Scooter with Some Limitations

The Hover 1 Highlander scooter is a great way to get around. Setup is very quick out of the box. Screw in the handles, charge fully, and have fun. Charging to full capacity takes a few hours and the charger has an easy to read light to let you know when the scooter is fully charged. Riding the scooter is very simple. There are three modes (eco, regular, and sport). Each mode tops out your max speed which has an impact on the distance you can travel before the battery drains. In sport mode, at 15 MPH, you move at a good clip. I question the weight load of the scooter, listed at 264 pounds max weight, as I don't see how the scooter's motor would be all to drive at that limit. I am 45 pounds lighter than the max and the scooter struggles at the slightest hill. On flat pavement, the scooter easily reaches the max speed on each setting. Don't expect to move up a hill very fast, or at all depending on your weight, but that is to be somewhat expected. The scooter folds down for easy carrying, though could be considered a little heavy for some. Overall, the Hove 1 Highlander scooter is a great way to zip around, whether for a short commute or just for fun.

    Simple and fun to use

What a fun scooter! It was easy to set up and charge, and I havent had any issue with low power or slow speeds. For reference, I'm 5'1" and weigh about 180. I usually this for trips that are less than a mile one way, and the battery holds up well. Its advertised as 9 miles, and after a few trips, i still have over half the battery, so it seems pretty accurate. I love having a bluetooth speaker on board for music since headphones woildnt be safe. The only caveat is tgat this is listed as a kids scooter, and at just over 5 feet, the handles come up to my sternum. If you have a younger child, this might be too tall.

    Excellent buy

This has been an excellent buy. It’s well made. I enjoy having the three modes of speeds in the settings. We use the basic speed to get use to the unit. The max speed was 7. Then I ventured to the next max level and it fast enough. I have not gone to the third level yet. It has Bluetooth and it paired with my 13 iPhone very easy. The tires are hard rubber and ride wonderful on flat surface, for instance the street but not good on the sidewalk with grooves. The device makes a loud noise with each grove you pass but the scooter does absorbs the shock. It would be nice to have an air tire instead but I believe I prefer the hard rubber tire to avoid maintenance. The six charge bars display is very helpful.

I bought it for my son to take to his freshman year on campus. He is so happy with the scooter. It is well worth it. It fits in his dorm closet where he runs a power strip and charges it in his closet. Very compact when folded.

We had a problem with ours breaking 2 and half weeks after we bought it for my son's birthday. It showed fully charged but then after he rode about a block it died. After that it would not turn on or recharge. Luckily the manager was very nice and did exchange it since it was under 30. We are nervous it could break again, no protection plan is available on this product. When it works it is cool though and he can listen to music from his phone while riding. Fingers crossed.

Save yourself the trouble. Don't buy this brand. If you don't get the extended warranty there's no place where you can get it fixed and you have only 15 days to bring it back to Best Buy. Mine broke after 20 days and this was money thrown to the trash.

I am pretty bummed. I got this for my elderly parent who still works really hard at his job, and takes a long bus ride with a lot of walking to get there and home. It was a surprise gift for him exactly 3 months ago. It fell apart yesterday. 2 stars because he loved the product while it lasted.

I have ridden less than 20 Miles with this scooter and am already having problems with it. I only get about 4 miles per charge on gentle terrain. Shuts down if going up hill, constantly feels like the brakes are on if accelerator is not engaged does not free roll with or without power. I have already contacted support the first thing they said was batteries are not covered under warranty and that it was user error, and was told take it to a repair shop. I did my research and found that there are no electric scooter repair shops that will work on third party items in my area.
