Not as good as the first, but still enjoyable

Aside from Avatar, the first How to Train Your Dragon was the best 3D movie I've ever seen. Along with great effects, the storyline was engaging and original, something you'd expect more from a Disney movie than a DreamWorks picture. Add in some good humor and action, and it was a move even adults could enjoy. This sequel follows up the original well. I'd say its not as good as the first from an adults perspective, because its not as original and in some ways its a bit of the same. However, this movie ups the action and includes many more dragons and riders than the first movie, which should be a hit with kiddos. Overall, not as good as the first but still an enjoyable movie worth owning if you have kids.

I was soooooo happy when I found this item online through Best Buy for the low price of ten bucks that I missed out on Amazon. It was easy to order it and go in anytime for the in store pick up which I loved because I could go in late at night and avoid the crowds and still be sure they would have the item in stock for me. I loved this movie in the theatres and I'm glad to have it in my collection.

My son was not able to see this in the theater (and he was BUMMED) but I planned on getting as a Christmas present. He got very sick the week I bought it and missed a camping trip, once I pulled out the movie he no longer was sad about missing the trip and watched the movie 4 or 5 times in a row until he could quote the lines and still loves to watch it every night he is allowed TV in his room.

I already had the first film in BluRay 3D and I was so impressed I got HTTYD2 as well. (on sale too!) This sequel is very well done and it is a bit more darker than the original (especially for Dads). The animation is even more beautiful and the 3D pops! There is a gigantic dragon that tops the one in the last film. Fine family entertainment and not too cute, adults will love this too.

I bought this for the family, sight unseen. I loved the first film and I hoped this title would be a worthy sequel. It certainly was. There are even more dragons in this story and it truly is a coming of age tale. I would liken it to the Lion King, but in two parts. It seemed a little short but it may have just been the smooth pace of the film. Add this to your family collection today.

I LOVED this movie. I loved the first movie when I saw it, and made sure to watch this when it came out in theaters. I'll admit that it made me tear up a little bit at one point, and I'm hard to be moved by movies. The sound track is also excellent and the relationship between Hiccup and Astrid is adorable. Loved the movie and have seen it several times since getting the blu ray.

I bought this to entertain my four-year old son since he was dressing up as toothless for Halloween. He has enjoyed it several times since then, and as a grown man... I am able to enjoy it every time with him. Action packed, sly humor and some stuff the little guy can get as well. Overall, if you are a fan of How to Train Your Dragon 1, this follow-up is a home-run and a must-own.

This is a worthy sequel the excellent first HTTYD movie. Does not disappoint, for my family at least. Everyone is different, of course, and opinions will vary. BUT, if you liked the 1st one, I cannot imagine that you would feel differently about this one. Does a fine job of progressing the storyline, and makes you wonder if they have a 3rd chapter in the works. Although I do think this ends strong enough to be a finisher for the franchise. But money talks, and if this did well enough, we'll see another one, and I will see that one too :D

If you loved the original, you'll love this one to tears. Literally. Youthful enough to make a child want to buy a Toothless costume for Halloween and never take it off, while mature enough for adults to want to watch it more than once, HTTYD2 truly is one of the best animated movies ever made. It will make you experience every emotion, joyful and sad, that there is to feel.

We all know that most sequels don't live up to the original but I really enjoyed this movie. They didn't just retread the first movie - this had a stand alone story line. It was good to see Hiccup's character develop into a strong young man. He also faces some serious personal issues in this movie so it's a bit darker than the first, but still a very good story for kids.

I thought the first movie was a great movie. I also thought that the thought of a second would kill the series. I was wrong this movie was just good if not better than the first one. If u like good animated movies this is a must have. if u have kids or just enjoy watching a non serious full of entertainment movie then this is a movie for u. I highly recommend this movie.

As much as I loved the first "How to Train Your Dragon," I believe I liked this sequel even better. Seeing the way Hiccup and the others have grown was fun, and I loved the way new characters were brought into the movie. There are some sad parts and some scary parts, but all are handled well and small children can be cuddled and things can be explained. Highly recommend!

I'm a huge fan of this series. Even the other movies and tv series. The dialog is intelligent. They take something that seems to be so obsessively shoved down our throats the last few years (dragons/mid-evil times) and turns it into a lot of fun. Recommended for all kids...not too young, just because it might scare some of the really young ones (teeth/weapons/etc)

The Dragons two movie was great family fun. Dragons two's story was better than the original movie's and the animation quality is far beyond the television version of this series. Dragon's two made for a great Christmas present for my whole family. Even my church loved the movie so much that we did our vbs decorations for the kids based off this movie this year.

I'm not usually a fan of sequels but this movie is really well-made and the extras were a treat to watch. I enjoyed watching it with my family and friends. I recommend watching it! The only thing that I wished was different was the digital copy code could be used twice to get the apple version and the vudu version instead of only just getting one version.

If you enjoyed this movie the Blu-Ray 3d version doesn't disappoint! The disc is well laid out and the image quality was dazzling. Nice to have extra video and the quality and convenience of physical discs. Load time was short and menus were well done. Haven't looked for extra angles or Easter eggs. Probably the only way to beat quality is theater or 4k.

A well made, entertaining animated movie. It has action, heart, comedy, adventure and emotion. It is a great movie for the young and old. No matter what your age you will enjoy it. The good thing about this movie, is that is appropriate for any aged person in your family. You can feel comfortable watching it with any member of your family or any friends.

I sort of liked the first HTTYD movie, but this one was way better. The characters are more established, the animation was great and the story was halfway decent. My daughter had a much more enjoyable time with this one too as it also seemed less "scary" than the original. We've already watched it a bunch of times and it hasn't lost any of its shimmer.

Great story with fun family themes. Builds on the first movie and develops the characters more which create characters that you are really interested in. Excellent price. Great value. One of our family favorites that you can watch over and over again without the movie becoming stale. I would highly recommend this movie as well as the first installment.

This is the second movie in the How To Train Your Dragon Series and after watching both movies I really hope they make more. This installment is fast paced and full of surprises . The Blue Ray version seems to pop out of the screen with it's bright colors and great story. If you loved the first movie then you will not want to miss this installment .
