My wife has an extensive animated movie collection, l'm happy to add this one to it.

Loved this and had to pick it up! Toothless is my favorite part of the entire movie!

For a long time, Pixar was the king of the digital cinema world. With movies like the Toy Story franchise, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles and Monsters, Inc., they seemed unbeatable. Dreamworks had it's moments with movies like Shrek and Kung-Fu Panda, but this was the first film of theirs to truly have the kind of emotional yield and yet same excitement and fun-factor of those Pixar movies, even surpassing most of them. As far as the 3D transfer is concerned, it looks as good as it did in theaters, no visual artifacts and really gorgeous colors. The audio sounds fantastic too, getting full use of the 5.1. The extras unfortunately are on the DVD portion of the combo, there are none of note on the Blu-Ray, which is unfortunate because this encourages Dreamworks to keep putting out releases in this manner with sub-1080p/720p content of extras. I'm not sure why they didn't just make it a dual Blu-Ray set with the extra DVD, they certainly could've charged for it. But no matter, this is a must buy for those of you with 3D TV's. (Any scene with "the Nightfuries" is a great one to show off your (system.)
