my daughter recently bought this movie, she loves it.

The box is labeled DVD, but it won't work in any of the DVD players. Has to be played on the computer.

I'm not sure what this movie really is about. As my title states it has so many small subthemes that are in no way connected. I know Ghibli has a supernatural/unexplainable theme but at least the older ones connected them to a main storyline. This movie was just so strange and I was very very disappointed.

The castle is probably the best part of this movie. Not equivalent to other works from this director

Case and discs are great. Love the product. Steelbook looks amazing. Sadly, once again, steelbook shipping by Best Buy is sorely lacking and a complete failure to deliver safely. A flimsy bubble mailer protects nothing. Case arrived almost bent in half. Very unhappy.

Case was Best Buy drops ball again with cheap cardboard mailer. FYI Best Buy, we buy steelbooks to collect them so the least you can do is protect them!!

The metal caseing arrived dented. But the movie is very well scrippted.

In a life-changing adventure, Sophie climbs aboard Howl's magnificent moving castle and enters a magical world on a quest to break the spell." To be honest, I've had this movie and "My Neighbor Totoro" in my store for years and have always passed them over. Picked them both up when the Blu-rays released and I'm so glad I did. "Howl's Moving Castle" is a masterpiece that is just incredible. The beginning starts off at a very brisk pace and then slows down once Sophie has adjusted to the curse and accepts it. Aside from the first 10 minutes, nothing feels rushed and it flows very smoothly from one sequence to the next. Full 1080p in Blu-ray works wonders for all of these older animated titles. While it detracts a little from their "classic" feel, the more vibrant colors and smoother animation is wonderful for drawing in new viewers. While not nearly as old as "Totoro", the movie still has a slightly older feeling to it. "Totoro" was the first movie that Miyazaki worked on that was set in Japan and it looks like he is a little preferetial to areas outside of his homeland. "Howl's Moving Castle" has the feeling of being in a Western European country. Can't find any faults at all with the English voice-acting. The majority are highly-paid professional actors and they don't leave anything lacking. Always great to see the guy behind Batman as the voice behind Howl. And I don't see how anyone could not recognize the voice of Billy Crystal. Loved every minute of it. Have to stop procrastinating with picking up "Nausicaa" as it was Miyazaki's first film and I hear so much about it. A few other huge movie titles coming out state-side this year as well that people should check out. "The Princess and the Pilot" is supposed to be amazing and I can't wait for "Wolf Children" as well. And can't forget "From Up on Poppy Hill". Missed the local screenings in Nashville earlier this month.

the movie is visually beautiful and interesting story.

All that needs to be said is that this is a Studio Ghibli movie and thus needs to be watched. Arguably the greatest animation studio and studio in general.

The story is great, the art is great, a downside is you can't stream or find a stream site for Ghibli films, but it is really worth it!

Your an average girl and you own a hat shop and one day a rather large woman comes to your shop and insults all that she sees even you. You tell her to leave and she does but not before casting a spell on you that turns you into a old woman it is then that you find out that she is a bad witch and you hear of Howl a great wizard who you hape to trun the spell back. You find him and start wroking as house cleaner that you wanted and falls in love with Howl and he sees you as you are a young woman under a spell. You help Howl anyway you can and help him break the curse on him self as well as yours. All in all this is one of Hayao Miyazaki's best films that I would like to live in

I found this movie to be packed full of adventure and drama, the characters are funny and the color and art work brought in for the artist really make this story wonderful. If you need to find something new to watch then check out this movie, you'll really love it!

Before purchasing this, I have seen it 2 times. It left such an impact, that I bought it. And even now, I have already seen it an additional 3 times (had it for a month). The plot is fantastic. The animation is clear. The characters are diverse and you fall in love with them. Anyone who likes/loves anime should pick this up for sure! 10 THUMBS UP!

Howls Moving Castle is another great anime film from Studio Ghibli and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. It is full of great characters and an entertaining plot. The relationship between Sophie and Howl is fun to watch develop as well as seeing how they develop as individual characters. Calcifer is also really fun and Billy Crystal does a great job voicing him.

Filled to the brim with interesting characters, from Wizards, Demons and Witches, to corupt goverment and greedy family, this movie was fantasticly put together. The Music score is very dramatic and heart wrenching, as well as the Romance and character flaws. Calcifer was my personal favorite!

Childhood favorite. Would highly recommend all of ghilbli's movies. The book was well written and I'm glad they stuck to the book. Ghilbli however failed to keep to the original story line with it's predecessor story.

Miyazaki's adaptation of the book by the same name is beautifully animated with lots of charm and heart. The Blu-ray presentation is gorgeous and also comes with subtitles rather than the infamous "dubtitles." Add this film to your collection today, if you haven't already!

This is one of Miyazaki's best films. It is colorful and fanciful and sure to entertain!

Purchased this for my partner. It’s her favorite and she loved it!
