This 24-inch IPS LED FHD monitor from HP is budget priced but looks high end. It is a bit short on ports, one VGA and one HDMI. But it looks absolutely fantastic.
What’s in the box:
24-inch (measured diagonally) IPS LED FHD monitor capable of 100Hz refresh rate
Height adjustable base and stand (two pieces that fit together)
Power brick and power cable
HDMI cable
Quick instructions
Warranty
I honestly wasn’t expecting much for the price, but I am pleasantly surprised. Assembling the stand was easy. The three screws all have attached rings you use to tighten them. So no tools needed. Just slip the stand arm into the back of the monitor. Grab the little ring attached to the screw and tighten. Then insert the other end of the stand arm into the stand base. Grab the little rings and tighten the two screws. Assembly complete.
The edge to edge (no bezel on the sides or the top!!) display is bright and beautiful. After setting my computer display options for 100Hz refresh, motion is flawlessly displayed. This one is gonna be great for fast action gaming. HP has also incorporated low blue light technology into the hardware.
The only things that it seems to be missing, and bear in mind this is a budget priced monitor, are a couple more ports (at least a second HDMI port) and a standard VESA mount that lets you use your own mounting arms so you can pivot the display to portrait mode. The stand is height adjustable and tiltable. You just can’t pivot to portrait mode.
In summary, this is an excellent monitor at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this one if you are in the market for a new monitor and you are on a budget.

This is the right size monitor, brightness and height/angle to take on a day full of projects, meetings, and more. Its sleek design complements any workspace. And its beautiful screen, adjustable stand, and comfort features take your productivity to the next level. Fantastic contrast ratio, brightness level and refresh rate. The price point is phenomenal. Setup was a bit tedious due to having to install the stand but overall it was very securely packaged. The warranty is also lengthy at 3 years given the lie price point. Easy to handle and move around due to a weight under 8lbs.

I have some time to play around with this monitor, from watching movies, gaming and just plain surfing the web. The design is crisp and clean, minimal border and extremely thin and light. The color is great, the OLED lighting is great and the monitor has not let me down. The refresh rate is 100hz and good for gaming and streaming, along with the OLED color range makes very nice picture quality and i haven't noticed any ghosting or trailing.
The versatility of the monitor is pretty wide, the monitor itself can be placed in portrait or landscape orientation. The monitor can be tilted forward or backwards and the easy spring assisted height adjustment makes raising or lowering the monitor a breeze.
The inputs are a bit limited because it has one HDMI and PC serial cable connection, miniHDMI or DVI port would have been nice. It has a small footprint so it does not take up much space. Overall it has a very nice color, crispness, sharpness to the images. It has a small footprint and weigh very little making it easy to move around. The downside is the limited connections but I you just need one input connection and a very good monitor I would highly recommend it.

I recently received the HP 24-inch LED IPS FHD monitor and I must say, it is an excellent product at a reasonable price. I have been looking for a larger monitor for a while now, and this one is a game changer. Previously, I was using a Chromebook with a 14-inch screen, so this monitor has made a significant difference in my work and browsing experience.
Setting up the monitor was a breeze and it comes with an HDMI cable and an adjustable stand that can be tilted. The stand is easy to set up and doesn't require a screwdriver.
The monitor is crystal clear and very smooth, making it incredibly easy to use. The clarity is outstanding, and I couldn't be happier with my new monitor. It's also great for light gaming with a 100Hz refresh rate. The monitor has a sleek design with three borderless sides. It comes with one HDMI and one VGA port, but unfortunately, it doesn't have any options to plug in additional speakers or a USB port. I ordered an adapter to add external speakers since the built-in laptop speakers aren't good enough. Overall great Monitor!

Bought this for a monitor to have at home for my home business. Excellent screen size, multiple features, and lightweight. All things I need for a home work space. Lets start with the unpacking.
Items in the box were nicely stored. Everything had a compartment, and it was very easy to setup. It has a super thin profile which is nice so it doesn't take up much desk space but provides an incredible display for both work and games. I had one issue when setting it up. No tools required, everything you need is in the box. First I connected the connection plate to the back of the monitor. This was super easy, the screw has a flip up handle to help you tighten it in place. But then you have to match up the connection plate on the back of the monitor with the stand. This was a bit awkward to me. I could make the connection easily but when I tried to hand tighten the screw (with the same pup up handle to tighten it) it was very awkward for me to get my fingers on the screw to tighten it. This was the only awkward issue I came across, seems there needs to be a better place for the screw. I am including pictures so you can see where it is tight and hard to reach. But once it was secured, everything was super easy to use.
Once I had the monitor secured to the base, I was able to plug in the power cable and the hdmi cable (both included in the box) and immediately i was connected to my laptop. The image was crisp and clear. The monitor is SUPER easy to adjust. It has both a tilt feature so you can get your viewing angle just right, and it has a vertical height adjustment. All you do is pull up or push down on the back of the connection arm and the monitor moves to the desired height with ease. There is even a built in cable manager on the back of the stand as well. Native resolution is 1920 x 1080 with 1500 to 1 contrast ratio. Colors look awesome. Works with Chromebooks and the viewing angle is 178 degrees. You can see this from practically any angle. I am considering a second one to have dual monitors but for now this is perfect for my home work (and play) space.

I’m very impressed with the HP 23.8" IPS LED FHD 100Hz Monitor. The image quality is crisp and vibrant, with excellent color accuracy and viewing angles thanks to the IPS panel. The 100Hz refresh rate makes everything feel smoother, whether I’m working, streaming videos, or doing light gaming.
The adjustable height stand is a big plus—it makes it easy to find a comfortable viewing position. Setup was quick, with both HDMI and VGA options available. The design is sleek and modern, with a nice silver-and-black finish that looks great on my desk.
Overall, this monitor delivers excellent value for the price. If you’re looking for a reliable, great-looking display with smooth performance, this is an excellent choice.

Excellent Monitor that Checks Almost Every Box

As someone deeply invested in optimizing my workspace for productivity and aesthetics, the HP Series 5 24 inch FHD Height Adjust Monitor - 524sh caught my attention, and after using it extensively, I can confidently say it's a standout choice in the entry-level monitor category. **I mention this later in the review, but I want people to know this monitor DOES NOT HAVE VESA MOUNTING POINTS. You will not be able to mount this monitor to anything but the included stand**
Let's kick it off with its design. Sleek and modern, it boasts an incredibly thin profile, measuring just a quarter of an inch at its thinnest point. This minimalist aesthetic is complemented by the absence of bezels, offering a seamless viewing experience that enhances both productivity and visual appeal. Setting it up was a breeze, thanks to the ingenious design of the thumb screws with folding wings, eliminating the need for tools and streamlining the assembly process.
One of the monitor's standout features is its adjustable stand. Not only is it solidly built, but it also offers easy height adjustment and a generous range of pitch, ensuring optimal viewing comfort for extended periods. This level of flexibility is invaluable, especially for those who spend long hours in front of their screens.
In terms of connectivity, while it may have only two display ports (VGA and HDMI), they cover the basics for most users' needs. However, it would have been beneficial to include additional options such as DisplayPort or USB-C for added versatility. Ideally, the VGA port would be retired and replaced with USB-C.
Moving on to display quality, I was impressed by the accuracy of colors straight out of the box. With only minor tweaks, I was able to match the display to my MacBook Pro, providing a consistent visual experience across devices. This level of color accuracy is essential for tasks that require precise color representation, such as photo and video editing. The viewing angles are satisfactory and I'd say slightly above average.
This will be the meat and potatoes for most- While the monitor boasts a 100Hz refresh rate, making it suitable for smooth web scrolling, it's not intended for gaming due to its limitations in that regard. Additionally, the lack of VESA mounting points may disappoint some people who prefer to mount their monitors for a more customized setup. While I have no issue using the stand with this monitor, I would appreciate some flexibility with regards to mounting at this price point.
In a nutshell, the HP Series 5 24 inch FHD Height Adjust Monitor - 524sh is an excellent choice for those seeking a no-frills display for work and general computer tasks. Its accurate colors, easy setup, and minimalist aesthetic make it a valuable addition to any workspace. If you're in the market for a reliable monitor that offers solid performance without breaking the bank, this one is definitely worth considering.

Sleek Look with Great Picture Quality

This monitor is perfect for my needs and just the right size. It is sleek, smooth, and simple in appearance, allowing it to blend into any kind of surroundings in which it is placed. I have used it to stream movies with my streaming device, and for its main purpose, as a monitor for my daughter’s school Chromebook.
First and foremost, set up was quick and simple, it took all of five minutes to get it set up and ready. It feels very well-made and does not weight much. It has an adjustable height with a lot of variability in how high and low it goes. It does not, however, have any tilting capabilities. There are four buttons on the bottom right, a power button, buttons for up and down, and a menu button. On the back there are 2 ports, one for VGA, and one for HDMI. The stand contains a cable organizer, which really helps keep the wires from looking messy and getting tangled.
This monitor is Eyesafe certified 2.0, meaning it emits lower levels of blue light while still providing vivid colors. I can attest that this is true, I watched movies with a lot of color and did not see any diminished effect on the quality of the picture nor the vibrancy of the colors. The only thing I noticed was the blacks were not as dark, but that is pretty standard in monitors.
It worked exceptionally well at streaming movies; the picture was high quality and smooth. One thing to note is that there is no built-in speaker, so it does not work well as a standalone monitor for streaming movies or shows. Of course, this could be circumvented by using an HDMI audio extractor.
My main use for this monitor is to provide a larger screen for my daughter to do her schoolwork on. Her school assigned Chromebook’s screen is incredibly small and inconvenient and this monitor allows her to work with more screen space while also reducing the amount of blue light she is subject to. Since schools require online work both in class and at home, anything that reduces eye strain is beneficial. I did have to get an HDMI to USB-C connection in order to connect the Chromebook to the monitor. Once connected, everything worked seamlessly, which is to be expected because this monitor is advertised as "compatible with Chromebook." My daughter is over the moon at having so much more screen space to work on and everything is simple enough for her to understand.
I really cannot find any shortcomings to this monitor. It is a simple, affordable, and sleek monitor with great picture quality that can serve many needs. At 100Hz refresh rate, it can even serve as a casual gaming monitor remarkably well. I highly recommend it to anyone in the market for one.

Good all-around monitor

This is a very good 24” LED monitor with a bright display, vivid colors, excellent viewing angles (both vertically and laterally), and minimal bezels. It’s FHD, so the maximum resolution is 1080p. Refresh rate is up to 100 Hz, making the display smooth and flicker-free.
There are only two input ports available: HDMI and VGA. This is pretty basic, but should fit the needs of the average user. Access to the ports is easy, which should not be ignored -- I’ve dealt with monitors in the past that had ridiculous port placement, making insertion or removal of plugs an ordeal.
Height and vertical viewing angle adjustment are easy as well, with a pretty good range. This can be especially helpful for those using a standing desk setup. Time will tell if things will get looser, but for now, adjustments stay exactly as set.
Build quality seems excellent. The monitor housing is sturdy plastic with a nice texture, and the stand is solid metal, giving a good amount of stability. And despite the composition of the stand, the whole monitor is pretty lightweight.
My one concern so far is that in the one week I’ve had to test this monitor, I’ve noticed a few times that the signal drops for about a second. The HDMI cable I initially tried was an older one that had been lying around, so it’s possible that the cable was the problem -- I changed it to the HDMI cable that came with the monitor, and so far the signal drops haven’t recurred. Hopefully it was just a problem with the older cable, but if it happens again with the included cable, I’ll update this review.
Overall, this should be an excellent monitor for most users. Hardcore gamers may want something with higher resolution and even higher refresh rate, but for typical day-to-day use, it should fit the bill.

Nice monitor and color and clarity are great. The screen adjusts up and down. My old one tilted which i liked but wasn't able to find that option. I had to buy a new monitor because my old one didn't have an HDMI cord and i needed HDMI to connect to the desktop. Thankfully my salesman mentioned that to me or I would have had to make another trip back for that purchase.

I recently purchased the HP 23.8” IPS LED monitor, and I’m thoroughly impressed by its performance and design. The 100Hz refresh rate makes a noticeable difference in smoothness during use, which is great for both work-related tasks and casual media consumption. The adjustable stand is a standout feature, allowing me to easily find the perfect viewing angle, which has significantly reduced neck strain. The display quality is fantastic, with vibrant colors and sharp details thanks to the IPS panel. Although it lacks built-in speakers, the monitor’s compatibility with HDMI and VGA covers all my connectivity needs. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and high-performing monitor.

Full disclosure-- I am a huge HP fan for printers, computers, laptops and MONITORS. This monitor is just perfect because it ticks so many boxers for me: the color is fabulous, the monitor lightweight, the screen is one-quarter inch thick and it is easily adjustable vertically. Also, the 'adjustment' buttons are on the lower right-hand side, which is way more convenient than the ones on the back or sides.
I received the monitor via delivery and it was sturdily packed and damage-free. Opening the box, there was little for me to do other than mount the lightweight screen on the stand. the stand is pretty heavy, so it will stay where you put it and the monitor is unlikely to tip over. Then, just plug and play! I used an HDMI cord to connect it to my dock, but it can be directly connected to a computer via HDMI or VGA. Included were the power cord and a new HDMI cord.
I work from home and have a 32" HP desktop all-in-one, so this monitor looks great with that and allows me to have a lot of screenspace. I like the thinness of the monitor, as well as the super-narrow 'edge' on the left, top and right. This not only looks sleek, but also uses maximum screen for display. This monitor also has low blue light emission, so that should be easier on the eyes!
As mentioned the controls for changing settings on the monitor are easy to access at the lower right. you will find power button on the far right. choosing any other button to the left gives you a quick click to all settings. You use the button under the indicated operation to change things. Easy!
Overall, this monitor exceeded my expectations, which were high! I needed more screen space and this monitor fills the bill on performance, style, cost, size and function.

Excellent FHD Monitor with Adjustable Height

The standout feature, and the reason I chose this monitor, is the fully adjustable height stand. For long days working or studying from home, this feature is essential for maintaining proper posture and reducing neck strain—it truly makes a difference in daily comfort.
When it comes to the display, the Full HD (FHD) resolution is sharp and bright on the 23.8-inch IPS panel. As noted, FHD is ideal for movies and is good for work and school from home, providing plenty of screen real estate where content is easily found. While QHD and 4K offer more pixel clarity, this monitor delivers excellent performance and value for everyday tasks.
The 100Hz refresh rate is another great selling point. This is the number of frames per second the device can produce, and the slightly higher rate compared to standard 60Hz panels is noticeable. It provides a smoother viewing experience, lessening images blurring or "tearing" when displaying motion, which is perfect for casual gaming or fast-paced video content.
Overall, if you need a reliable, comfortable, and well-performing monitor that prioritizes ergonomics without breaking the bank for QHD or 4K gaming specs, this HP model is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

This monitor is a solid choice for anyone looking for a great all-around display for productivity and everyday use. The 23.8-inch IPS panel delivers vibrant colors and sharp, clear visuals, which makes everything from browsing the web to watching videos look fantastic. The 100Hz refresh rate is a noticeable upgrade from standard 60Hz monitors, providing smoother scrolling and a more fluid experience overall.
One of the standout features is the adjustable stand, which lets you easily change the height and tilt. This is a huge plus for ergonomics, helping you find a comfortable viewing position and reducing neck strain during long work sessions. The design is sleek with a three-sided micro-edge bezel, making it perfect for a multi-monitor setup.
While it's a great monitor for general use, it might not be the top choice for hardcore gamers, as its response time may not be fast enough for competitive, fast-paced games. The control buttons are also located under the screen without labels, which can be a bit tricky to navigate at first.
Overall, the HP 23.8" IPS Monitor offers excellent value, combining a high-quality display with practical, user-friendly features like an adjustable stand. It's an ideal monitor for students, professionals, and anyone who wants a visually appealing and comfortable setup for daily tasks.

I use this monitor with my 2024 Macbook Air and haven't had any problems with it. I ordered it online and it arrived quickly and was securely packaged. Best Buy did an excellent job of staying in touch with me during the delivery process so it would be handed to me at my door. This monitor is the perfect size for my use and it looks sleek. It has excellent response time for watching online videos/movies, etc. I'm not a gamer so don't know how the response time is with games. There are some manual buttons on the bottom right side for adjusting many things like the color, image, brightness, etc. I like the fact that I didn't need to download software to use it, I just plugged it in! I also like that it doesn't have bells and whistles that I don't need. I like that the height is adjustable too. But I wish it could be made an inch or two higher. Other people may not need any extra height that I do. I've found a way around the height issue so it's all good. Other than the height adjustment not being high enough for me, I feel this monitor is perfect, especially at the great Best Buy price!
