So first of all the packaging is very well done. With HP products you get a presentation and peace of mind knowing that everything is snug. There is a quick start guide, user manual, and HDMI cable included. You do also get a VGA port. These documents aren’t necessary to read because setting up the stand is easy and there are no drivers required to connect it to a PC, it can be set up almost immediately out of the box - although the documents are appreciated. I noticed first just how thin the bezels are, how thin it is in general and how light it is also. I’m slowly starting to replace monitors I’ve owned from five years ago and in that short time they’ve come a long way. Also what I’d like to note is that there is a clip to wire your cables through. It helped keep my setup even neater. The quality of the screen is also amazing. Typically people will look for buzzwords like 4K or 144hz in a monitor but let’s say you just want to replace a standard 1080p monitor. This could be the monitor you go for. I’m a graphic designer and this is especially evident for me. It’s night and day when compared to my old monitor. The colors are more vivid, some colors look different, and if anything I’m discovering more variants of color - all because of the 99% color gamut. There are also wide viewing angles (which is not important for someone like me that works alone) so for someone using this at work, it’s necessary. If you need to show a buddy your work you need the wider viewing angle so it doesn’t lose its quality. The last thing I wanted to mention was the Eye Ease technology. This is something that all devices should eventually adopt. For some devices, you can distinguish when this technology is on or off. I couldn’t tell compared to my other monitors. I’ve personally had eye strain so I’ve been using blue light blocking glasses for years. Some people think it’s a gimmick but not me since I’m prone to headaches and bloodshot eyes. I’m very satisfied HP included this with the monitor. The stand doesn’t allow height adjustment, swiveling, or rotation but the tilt is fine. Also, this monitor isn’t mountable. So for a graphic designer, this monitor is perfect with all the tech I’ve mentioned, the price is not too bad and other people might think it’s great too, but it’s not for everyone and that’s ok.
