The first thing that you notice when you get to unbox the HP m24F is this monitor is incredibly thin. It almost seems impossibly thin and light. It was one of the things that surprised me most. The other thing is HP includes an HDMI cable in the box. THANK YOU! Setup was easy. You clip on the stand, plug in the power (it has a small brick-style power unit), and connect your HDMI cable. The HP m24F supports both HDMI and VGA (it will auto-switch based on what is plugged in) and there is one port for each. Worth noting, this monitor does NOT have a VESA mount. So you have to use the included stand or else. It also doesn't have inbuilt speakers. It was easy to get the right angle on the m24F, tilt adjustment is easy. One of the things you do notice is the viewing angle is incredibly clean from any direction. HP claims 178-degree ultra-wide viewing and while I don't have the ability to measure it, I can say you can see the monitor clearly from all directions. Color-wise, the color reproduction is vibrant. Actually, reminds me that when you turn this on it shows a logo for "HP Eye Ease" and it has "always on low blue light" and the ability to adjust the color tones including a "Night Mode" (similar to Night Shift on a mobile device). I really appreciate this as I use this late at night in my home office and appreciate anything that is easier on my eyes. The only side note is that the m24F does some AMD FreeSync. I wasn't able to test this as my laptop is not AMD FreeSync compatible. But worth knowing. Especially if you want to use this monitor for the occasional game or graphic design work. Tip: If you're using this with Windows. I found setting Wallpapers fit to "Fit" made a huge difference. I also set the size of text and apps on the monitor to 100%. I share this because if you're using it with a laptop, your laptop may be using different settings and the display may look odd on first use - which is an operating system, not an HP issue. Would recommend the HP m24F for business/work.

Still The Same Great HP Quality...And More...

As with all things HP, the setup on this 24" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor was a breeze. If you have ever connected a monitor to a computer before, then you already know enough! In a few minutes, it was ready to test out. I chose to test it out on my laptop. I started off simply opening different software programs to see if there were any noticeable differences in the color, resolution, etc, than my laptop. I was impressed with the clarity of the text, Although it is not like reading book text directly from a book, it is still super high quality. From the software programs I went to photos and videos. This is where I noticed some remarkable differences. Colors were spot on. There was no noticeable bleeding, and videos were crisp and clear. There was a depth to the detail that just seems missing on my other monitors. Blacks are especially accurate and true. Although I am not a hardcore gamer, the games I did play were fluid, realistic, and several steps above what I have been used to. The greatest feature of this monitor is that it is so easy on the eyes. I was on the computer for several hours last night and today, and I felt NO fatigue on my eyes. There is a comforting feel to the whole viewing experience that absolutely does not interfere with the viewing experience. The bottom line is, does this monitor perform as expected or better, and does it offer a viewing experience that would compel someone to buy it? Absolutely yes...it does. The size and viewing angle make the monitor seem like it is so much larger than it really is. Text is crisp and clear, and photos and videos are exceptionally vivid and true to color. Eye fatigue is minimal, and because of the unique styling of the base, its footprint is quite small on the desk or table. I would highly recommend the HP 24" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor to EVERYONE looking to upgrade their work, gaming, and browsing experience. This really is a must have addition.

    Crisp and Clear So Far

The HP - 24" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor (HDMI, VGA) in silver and black was first delivered on May 11th, but little did I realize that the delivered monitor was really defective. There was a puncture mark on the outside of the delivery box, I do not know if that was FedEx's or HP's fault, but I did not pay any heed to that and went ahead and put together and installed monitor #1. Well, the minute it turned on I realized that it was defective because there was a huge scratch along the bottom in an east/west fashion with the picture pixels ruined along this mark. I promptly reported this and was given a contact with HP out of Texas. We only communicated by email and no questions were ask, but I did send them pictures of the punctured box and what the screen looked like. So, I got the original monitor on May 11 and then got the replacement monitor last Friday, May 28th just before the long Memorial Day weekend. Therefore, I have not had much time to use the monitor. Also, I want people to know that even though the box had a small puncture the technical product inside was fatally damaged and I spent time putting it together and installing it in vain. I find the aesthetics of this monitor very pleasing, it is sleek, slim, modern and will fit with any décor. I also like that the screen fills the entire real estate, without the heavy plastic framing of monitors of the past. There is only silver edging along the bottom and the stand is actually attached to the bottom middle backside of the screen. Like I said, I just received monitor 2 as a replacement for the defective monitor 1 and have not watched a high definition movie or programming on it, but it was immediately clear to my 62 year old eyes that I was looking at a very crisp and clear picture, not blurry in any way and it was nice on my old eyes. There are 2 ways to hook this up to your computer-either by HDMI cable connected from the monitor to the computer or a VGA cable from the monitor to the computer, the age of your desktop will determine which cable you will need to use, the newer ones using HDMI cable that is provided by HP, the VGA is not even though they have instructions for it on the Quick Set Up Guide that comes in the box. Although this is a fairly easy process-connect power and connect to computer, for some reason my signal was not picked up. I did call HP toll free number and of course was offshored to somewhere they do not know about Best Buy and the whole process about review upon receipt of product. At any rate, he told me to re-attach the old monitor and see if I could get the signal back and install the new monitor, which I did. So, I simultaneously had the old and the new attached until I was confident that the new would work. I did discover that there is a 1 year warranty and that less than 120 days was still in place even though I just got it days ago. So, you need to call HP and see what they have your warranty period for based on the monitor's serial number. Praveen from some Asian area said that he would send me an email link to present proof of purchase for them to manually adjust the warranty period, but he lied and did not do it, even though we went over my email address explicitly. I will get ahold of my contact that re-sent me another monitor and ask her on how to do this and why it is so far off. Warranties may not seem that big of a deal, but they really are because it is your only protection to get something fixed at no cost during a period of time when the product should work unconditionally. Okay, based on what I know right now, I find this to be a nice-looking, as well as, a monitor with a nice clean and crisp picture at a good price, which is what it is all about. The picture can be adjusted in numerous ways, as seen in some of my pictures, based on your preference and viewing conditions> I am rating this 4 stars because I do not know how the future will unwind with this monitor and the fact that the warranty period per HP's records is so far off. In fact, I forgot to mention that while I just got this screen, it says that it was produced February 2021 so how could it possibly be that out of 365 days for the warranty they only have a little less than 3 months remaining, makes no sense to me, but I now need to put in time to fix this situation. Oh well!.

I had been thinking of hooking up a second monitor for my home computer and when I saw that this monitor was the exact same one I already had, I had to have it. I decided it was time to get a second monitor now, since I have been working from home and have to switch to another computer at times to do my research. It will be a real time saver for me. I got my other monitor about two years ago and have had no problems with it whatsoever. Set up is very simple whether you are using it as a single monitor or to hook up as a second monitor. SINGLE MONITOR: You just install the base stand onto the monitor, plug it into an outlet and into the back of your computer with either an HDMI cable or with a VGA cable. I recommend the HDMI cable. SECOND MONITOR: To set this up to your computer as a second monitor, Windows should automatically find both monitors (once you have them both plugged into an outlet and the back of the computer). You then go to the multiple displays section in your settings and select the correct choice. This monitor has FreeSync which is good for your average gamer, as it gets 60Hz refresh rate. It generates low blue light which is good for your eyes if you are on the computer all day like I am. I had noticed a big difference with this and my eyes don’t seem as tired at the end of the day. I highly recommend this monitor. It is good quality, the price is right and it has nice features. I have always had good luck with the HP brand.

    Excellent Work-From-Home Monitor

I've been working from home for months now and had one 23" monitor and my 14" laptop set up as dual monitors. The dual-monitor set up is necessary for me, but the switching between monitors created an issue- I can read the 23" monitor fine, but need reading glasses to see the smaller laptop screen. I finally decided to bite the bullet and get another monitor. The HP - 24" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor fits the bill perfectly! It's a beautiful-looking, very thin, very modern monitor that really adds to my work from home set up. The monitor is the same size as the 23" monitor I already have, but the viewing area is actually larger because it uses the vast majority of the package as display (vs. a "frame"/rim around the screen.). It was a no-nonsense install- plug it in, turn it on & it worked! Any additional monitors may require a slight tweaking of the display settings to define location, extend vs. duplicate, etc, but these have nothing to do with the monitor itself. The only additional feature I would like (on either monitor) would be the ability to raise/lower it slightly. My two monitors are about 0.5 inches off in terms of height. The HP - 24" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor is the lower- I could simply create a base of some sort to raise it, but it's current base is too minimalist & well-designed to want to mess that look up.

I work from home and have been needing an extra monitor so I can work both of my jobs at the same time. I have a MacBook Air that I've been using with. I got a USB-C adapter that can connect my laptop to this monitor. The box includes the monitor, pieces for the base, power cord, and HDMI cord as well as the manual. While it is also VGA compatible, it doesn't include this cord. To set up, you just need to snap the pieces into place and tighten the screw on the bottom. The monitor is on a tilt axis so you can move it to your own liking. I will say this is a BIG screen. It's a 24" but I didn't realize quite how large that was until comparing it to my Macbook. It's amazing if you need a lot of screen for your workspace. Let me say, the quality is great! It's a very stunning and crisp display that would be great for gaming. This monitor is also paper thin, so I would be careful moving it around. But this also makes it extremely lightweight. Since I have a small apartment I love that I can easily move it for storage. Pros: -Huge screen -Easy setup -Crisp display -Lightweight -HDMI/VGA compatible Cons: -Could be fragile as it's very thin Overall, this is a great monitor! This screen is an absolute life and time saver for me.

This monitor is great for work and play. Crystal clear images and slim design make it ideal for someone looking for great graphics but might not want a large display. I find it perfect for my home office. It is extremely light. I was almost afraid of damaging it as I was taking it out of the box because it was so thin. The back contains a "sleeve" so you can manage cables a little better. I like this feature as I am always trying to keep my cables looking clean and manageable. Overall this would make a great addition to anyone's home office. Highly recommend.
