Simply took my old, busted cd drive out and put this one in. It was plug and play, no difficult install or programs to install for it to work. $30 for a simple do it yourself computer repair probably saved me $100 by not taking my computer to the geek squad.

Good basic burner

Bought this to replace it because I didn't want to wait for one bought online (with a slightly lower price). Plug n play worked right away.

works like a DVD writer

The price is a little high though. You can find them on the net for quite a bit less. I just needed one right now to finish my nephews new build and it was convenient to go to Bestbuy and grab one.
